Nexus Power FTW!!
I didn't see the topic if there is already another thread my bad. Anyway I have my galaxy nexus and a Motorola zoom both aosp devises and will probably only buy aosp devices. So I was faced with a tough question, absolutely the nexus 7 is worth the price but is it worth it for me cause I already have a 10 inch tablet . My first thought was no but then I thought about it and decided that it would be nice to have a tablet I can take on the Bart (subway in SF) and be able to stick in my coat pocket when I got to where I was going before I would take my Xoom and feel stupid cause then I had to hold the thing all day until I went home. Besides that I just wanted a smaller tablet I have my Xoom and will still use it when at home on the couch but will use the nexus 7 when out and about. So what do you think ?? Is it worth it??? Am I waisting my money ??? And will you be getting the nexus 7 ????

Yes. I have both the xoom and gnex as well. I ordered it during the keynote. Can't wait.
I like my xoom quite a bit, but its just too bulky for some situations.

I was thinking about putting my 1750 mAh battery back in my Galaxy Nexus since getting my nexus 7 because I use it more than my phone. How is the battery life for those with the normal battery that also use the Nexus 7 a lot.
Thanks
Jack

Well I have an iPad and a gnex so I'll give you my input I always use the stock battery (for me it's 1850 but mine has LTE so it's about even) and I can easily get through a day when I'm using my iPad. No problems. In fact I still have 19% left and I've been off the charger for the whole day with 2 hrs of screen on.
Sweet thanks do you tether to you iPad or have a 3/4g one

The Archos game pad has built in controls similar to the Xperia Play. Google search it & see for yourself.
Not much tablets has got gaming controls.
PS Vita (small "tablet")
Nexus 7 (isnt for gaming but its cheap and its smooth)

If I should buy a tablet today, it would be the Nexus 7.
I have an Ainol Novo 7 elf already, so I cant really justify the purchase.
I feel that 7 inch is big enough for at tablet, any bigger and it will be to bulky and heavy to play games on, and all apps and games made fore a smaller screen will lock like crap on a 10 inch screen.
Also I hate onscreen touch controller on my phone, but on the 7 inch tablet, i can use them quite comfortably.
The only downside with the Nexus 7 is the lack of micro SD slot, so the 32Gb version is the only one to consider.
Playstation games should work quite well whith Fpse
Games can be played from a usb stick on the nexus 7 now so storage is no longer a problem.
Also, its awesome for gaming, and the sixaxis app makes it all the better
IMO, its the best gaming device out ATM
If you can wait, the wikipad looks to be quite good and is playstation certified too

I've got the transformer prime, and I can easily connect my ps3 controller through the docks usb port. And it has a tegra 3 processor, meaning you can play the tegra hd version of some games.

wow i am impressed!
I probably would have sprung for a Nexus 7, but it doesn't have video/hdmi out. Not having it on our Xperia Plays; I think it becomes more crucial to at least have it from your tablet, unless you just don't care about video out. I believe the WikiPad does have hdmi out. The Nexus 7 is a sweet little tablet though if you don't care about hdmi out.

I am also going to recommend the Wikipad. I have one preordered.
Hi,
So I have a nexus 5 and love it. I've just been given a few hundred pounds bonus at work to spend on "gadgets" and can't really think of anything to buy, and I've always thought about getting a tablet.
I just wanted to ask, since I have a nexus 5 is there much point? The only benefits I can see are bigger screen, longer battery life and probably better for playing games and watching movies on. Is there any other benefit to having a nexus 7? Does anyone here own both and regret/recommend it?
Thanks in advance,
Jack
I have a nexus 5 and I just bought nexus 7 2013 lte model, I don't regret it, It fits on my pockets easily so I use it most of the time instead of my phone,

I own both plus a stay at home iPad 4. I get great use out of all of these devices.
Have both, the N7 WiFi version. The N7 does everything but phone calls much more conveniently when I'm at home because of the larger screen and extended battery life. If you're thinking about getting an iPad I'd recommend he N7. I had an iPad and replaced it with the N7 and have no regrets whatsoever.
I had a G'Nex + N7 2012 for the last year. Got my N5 last week and it made my N7 feel so sluggish I started thinking about getting the 2013 N7 with free shipping + $25 Google play credit. On black Friday I saw 32GB N7 on sale for $225 so figured I'd go for it. While it's still not as crazy fast as the N5 it's a nice upgrade over the old N7, and while I use my phone when I'm mobile, when I'm laying in bed or sitting at a desk I prefer the larger screen for other than phone purposes.
So yes, it's great owning both.
