Galaxy Note wallet case - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

I wanna buy a Galaxy Note in a month or two, and I've decided that I want a case that I can use as a wallet for it when I get it.
I've done some hunting around and these seem to be the nicest ones i can find:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wallet-Bl...Accessories&hash=item5ae41c2e41#ht_2506wt_905
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/519294078/2012_new_design__Leather_case.html
I like the look of the second one, but it'd be great if it had more card slots.
Is anyone aware of other nice wallet cases for the Galaxy Note?
Edit: I should've looked a bit harder in this forum before I posted this, there's a bunch of really nice ones in this thread:

[Q] Ballistic HC Case

Has anyone seen the new Ballistic cases for the eyephone? I saw one in person today and I have never been jealous of an iphone before, but if we can't convince them to make this case for the Galaxy, then iphone users will finally have one thing I want.
I have sent a request to Ballistic and hope that others will also. (www)(dot)goballisticcase(dot)com

It's a bit much for me. Wouldn't want my sexy vibrant to get slapped with the mother of all ugly sticks. But to each his own.

WTH? That case looks way overkill. If you need something bulletproof like that, then get a rugid phone thats meant to be used in tough situations.
I can just see the avg joe using that case. Its like a soccer mom driving a Hummer....
I kinda like this case. I could see myself using it or something similar when I go mtn bike riding and then using something slim for everyday use.
I'm hoping for an Otterbox case myself. Just in case though, I emailed these guys and requested that they consider making a version for the Vibrant.
I got a quick response from these guys.
Thank you for your inquiry of the availability of the Samsung Galaxy S-Vibrant case. I am sorry but at this time we are not going to produce a case for the Vibrant. We are considering a case for some of the other Galaxy S just not the Vibrant.
Once again I do apologize and if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.

I got the same response from Kristen Edge at Ballistic, but I also informed her in a follow-up that the Vibrant is almost identical in all aspects to the original Galaxy S, which has a world-wide market.
I also emailed them with my interest for a T959 case and they responded shortly after with:
"Unfortunately we do not have any plans at this time to make a case for the Samsung Vibrant T-959 phone. However the request was forwarded to our Product Manager."

[Q] Making the jump to a Nexus

This will be long, but would appreciate anyone taking the time to read it and answering some questions.
A bit of background: Came from a crappy carrier using a Blackberry. I actually loved the BB, hated the carrier so I made the move to T-Mobile and my first Android phone, the GS Vibrant.
Now there are some things I still think RIM/BB do well, I was instantly in love with Android and my new carrier... that is until the lack of support for the Vibrant in both software and accessories.
(Sad I'm reading all these threads of the 32G GSM variant being cancelled and accessories not being produced as well.... though not that it matters, there is still no mention of an official GSM variant to hit the US).
But anyways, I've had the Vibrant since launch, roughly 1.5 years ago. I've honestly felt like I've 'put up with' the Vibrant for the past year though. The thing has a beautiful screen and decent hardware, BUT it is very buggy and those bugs have bothered me. Being my first Android, I have not rooted the device nor flashed anything as if I did happen to brick it, I'm up the creek (or pop the sim in my BB to get basic functionality). So yea, I'm still rocking 2.2 baby!
Now I want to make the jump to the Galaxy Nexus. Out of all the phones I've seen, I think Samsung still has the best displays out there and being a computer guy, the possibilities of a Nexus phone might bring me back to my youth of picking apart my computers and all that sort of fun (and frustration LOL).
---
So, it looks like I will have to buy an imported GSM version unless something changes here in the next couple of months. I was really hoping an official GSM version would hit (or a T-Mobile variant) so I could get on contract etc, but whatever at this point.
What do I need to know or look for when getting a GSM Galaxy Nexus? What do I need to know after purchase having never owned a Nexus phone before? (ie: how and where do you get ICS updates? Directly from google?)
With the GSM import version, I assume it will work with my current Vibrant SIM? But will I get HSPA+ or will that require a new SIM?
I think those are all my questions for right now. I just think anything is better than the Vibrant at this point. I just don't know if I should get a Nexus now, wait till my contract is up in 5 months, or wait until the next Nexus phone hits.
As much as I like Samsung's displays and most of their hardware, I think the problem is over-saturation at this point. Seems a new Galaxy phone comes out every 6 months, and that doesn't include the dozens of other Samsung phones that come out every few months. It's no wonder a lot of their phones get dropped support.
Thanks to anyone for their input! Hoping by the end of March I'll get my hands on a Galaxy Nexus!
The Galaxy Nexus receives updates from either Samsung or Google. Despite what you may hear, it really doest matter who updates your phone. You need to know that not everyone gets updates at the same time but when they do, they are the same updates. The Galaxy Nexus will receive android updates for a LONG time so no worries there.
Your current SIM will work with a Galaxy Nexus as well! Good luck!

galaxy nexus is a good choice. Especially if you want to stay up to date on your phone. If you dont plan on rooting and staying with stock everything, the nexus is your best bet to always be the first to get android updates.
As far as hardware wise, I think the samsung Galaxy S II is a great alternative as well. The dev community is wide for that phone so updates are just as common as some gnex users.
The ONLY thing i dislike about the gnex (CDMA) is the camera, but i can deal... plus i have my dslr and other point and shoot, that im too lazy to get sometimes.
I moved from BB a while ago as well, and its good that your moving to a "high end" android phone. I wouldnt put the vibrant under high end.
If you get the Nexus, your phone should come stock with 4.0.2 i believe. 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 is floating around, but if you just read some of the android news, or hang around the forums, you will definitely know when an OFFICIAL update is out.

Nothing except try to get it from a trustworthy source. It updates the same way as all other Nexus phones - OTA.
Yes it works on your Vibrant SIM and you get HSPA+ on T-Mo.
GSM is the network band; HSPA+ is the data speed aka 3G/3.5G - they are not really the same thing.
Thanks for the replies, everyone. Very much appreciated.
Right now I'm looking at Expansys, which I think is one of the names I keep hearing about getting the GSM version from. But I do have another question regarding Expansys for anyone who purchased from them:
How reliable are they? Are they selling actual boxed items? And what's in the box (I assume wall charger/usb cable)? I seriously almost pulled the trigger on it just now LOL.
I got my gsm version from expansys usa. It was top notch experience similar to a amazon experience. Sealed box brand new.
Same I ordered off of expansys-usa and it shipped same day and it was new, sealed box. It come's with a UK charger however, but it comes with an adapter in the package.
Ordered from Negri Electronics. Awesome service and the lowest prices right now.
It should work with any HSPA+ carrier's SIM just fine.
Thanks so much, everyone. Really appreciate all the help!
Hoping by mid-end of March I'll have one of these bad boys in my hands. Just waiting on tax return and possibly some birthday spending money. (Which that spending money WAS being saved for new furniture as I'm moving in April... but who needs a couch when you have a NEXUS! )
Ordered yesterday and shipped today (from Expansys-usa).
Now that THAT is out of the way... what are some of the better accessories for the GSM Nexus?
Items I know I want:
Screen protector
Silicone/Gel type case
Items on the fence:
Extended battery
Silicone/gel type case to fit extended battery
I'm assuming my wall charger and car charger for the Vibrant will work with the Nexus? Both are micro-usb.
I believe my car dock will fit the nexus fine (depending on button layout) and my armband should be ok as well, maybe a bit tight.
read reviews on accessories forums before buying screen protectors because gnex has a curved screen, i didnt know a curved screen made a big deal on dry applied screen protectors' edge and bought a lot that i ended up throwing away

I love the naked phone; no screen protector or gel case. Just wait until you see the screen. Having said that, I've got a couple of annoying scratches already. I'm used to them but the resale value is down.
Thanks for the replies.
Temporary have my old vibrant screen protector on it as I wait for the case/protector to arrive in the mail.
LOVE THE PHONE!
But I have another question. Either I'm missing something, or what, but is there no 'file manager' on stock ICS 4.0.2? I've emailed myself some files (mp3's and wav files for tones) and can't move them around w/o connecting to my computer.
Is this something that requires root access? Or do I need an app or other third party apk to have a sort of 'file manager'?

Which unlock phone should I get now

Going to use over AT&T for few months and move in Korea.
So not interest in LTE option
Galaxy Nexus $400 Google Play
Galaxy Note N7000 $500 Expansys
Galaxy S3 $700 Expansys (end on May)
Any suggestion? I really don't like HTC phones but One X looks nice
simple answered : sit back and wait a few days to get the SGSIII .
no need to ask such question with the SGSIII coming out in few days
I think that if money is a priority then GNex. If you want the huge screen and don't care about TouchWiz, get the Note. If you have more money than brains get the SGSIII
Galaxy Nexus all the way... Unless you really like the plastic look of SGIII. I know it's personal pref but just saying...
Galaxy Nexus. It's the cheapest and the best out of the three choices.
But honestly, posting here and asking that Q you'll probably get Galaxy Nexus as your answer. If you post on the Note forums, you'll get answers for note etc etc.
Do what makes you happy.
Whichever phone fills your top priorities best. The gnex though will be the best all arounder.

The BAK Case

Hey guys while browsing kickstarter I found this case/wallet for the sgs3 for $30 and figured I would share it if anyone is interested.

This is taken directly from kickstarter.
High quality leather wallet-case for the Samsung Galaxy S III. Keep your cards, cash and phone all in one place. High quality leather wallet-case for the Samsung Galaxy S III. Keep your cards, cash and phone all in one place.
Thank you for supporting the BAK Case. Ben, Anthony and myself, Kyle (B.A.K.) got together one night and started talking about getting in to the business world. We collectively decided to create a multi-function cell phone case for the Samsung Galaxy S III. All being college students, we wanted something that we would use every day. We decided that putting a wallet on the back of a case was the way to go.
It was our solution to stuffing our pockets with a wallet, cash, ID, phone and random cards. Why not carry everything with the one thing we always have with us - our phones?
We looked online and saw a few "wallet style" cases, however, they were all wrong and didn't seem functional. We focused on designing the perfect case to accommodate everything. But then we thought, "well... we have a great design, how do we make it even better?". The answer: High quality leather.
We found a Chinese manufacturer to work with who has provided us with a beautiful prototype. We can't wait to show all of you what we have to offer.
Now we are looking to all of you Samsung Galaxy S 3 users out there. Please help us get going. Help us fund the BAK case. Help us get going and you will always be able to keep all of your valuables on the BAK of your phone.
Cheers,
Ben, Anthony and Kyle

[Q] Just bought Verizon's Galaxy Nexus. What are my options for getting Wallet back?

Howdy gang.
I've just returned from a one-year stint with an iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. I got shafted by Apple retail, so I returned the 5 and bought myself a Galaxy Nexus. Extremely pleased with it so far; I had no idea how far Android had come since Gingerbread. Anyway, onto my point.
I've been searching around the forums and I have not found a clear answer to the question asked in the title. I am aware that Verizon has blocked Google Wallet (I know they claim they don't block apps and yadda-yadda, but it seems awfully convenient that they crack down on Wallet again right around the launch of Isis), and I want to know what my options are to get it back, if any.
It appears that a few custom ROMs have it baked in, but I'm hoping to avoid anything too obscure. Ideally I could stick with stock or something really popular and well-supported like CyanogenMod, but I figure there's a possibility that that just can't happen.
But yes, any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
EDIT: Apologies! Apparently, in the intervening time between my search today and posting this thread tonight, the new version was leaked. While I do have qualms with using it while I have root access, Verizon has left me with no choice.
