I would love to get rid of the Verizon branding on my Galaxy Nexus LTE. It occurred to me that if we put the back plate from the GSM Nexus on the back of the LTE Nexus, then we would have a Google logo in plate of the Verizon LTE logo. Does anyone know if they are interchangable? i.e. does the GSM back plate fit in place of the LTE back plate, and vice versa?
No, they are not

Engadget says no.
"Interestingly, the differences are enough to make the near-identical looking backplates non-interchangeable. So, if you were hoping to pick up an HSPA+ cover to get rid of the Verizon branding, you're out of luck."

Wondering if I should get a Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE from America since I want the the 32GB storage but the GSM version does not have 32GB only 16GB.
So does the 4G Galaxy Nexus work in Australia or should I wait for the Samsung Galaxy S III - Considering the Galaxy S range is usually a major step up from the Nexus before it i.e. Nexus S to the Galaxy S II. I am strongly considering it if I can't use a 4G phone in Australia and they are not going make a GSM version with 32GB storage.
Your thoughts please...
No it doesn't.

no;
1: LTE bands may not be compatiable
2. the VZW version uses CDMA; not GSM for voice/3G
3. the LTE is for data only on the GNexus; there are currently no Voice over LTE deployed that I know of yet
Like others above me have said no it will not work in Australia or any other country outside of the USA, the LTE is CDMA only, and for Verizon USA only , it might work outside USA on roaming but that's it, even some accessories might have issues like a case because the LTE is a bit thicker due to having a larger battery for the LTE.
I plan to buy a SGN these days and i have a Q. I saw a "Samsung Galaxy Nexus - 32GB - Black (Verizon) Smartphone - NO CONTRACT/NIB/NR" on eBay and i want it shipped to Romania. Is it possible to unlock the phone from verizon to work on normal 3g networks? and what is NIB, NR and how can it be bad for me? Thanks

The VZW nexus is for CDMA networks. I am pretty sure you cannot use it on GSM networks...
NIB is "New in Box" and NR is "No Reserve"
No, it will only work on Verizon.

The verizon phone has CDMA 1x/3G radios and a 700mhz LTE radio.
Unless you can use those bads, the verizon version is no good for you. You need the GSM version, look around online for the best price.

I looked up the version he said he had. It's some Korean version.
The ad claims claims it's a GSM LTE version (not verizon lte version). I have both verizon and att service so can use either. I also have unlimited data on both.
Anyways, we all know the Verizon Gnex CDMA antenna is not very good. I had since day 1. Loved the phone, hated the antenna. My verizon LTE ipad gets LTE signal at home wheras my Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus never picks up LTE signal at home or other areas of Orlando.
I have the Nokia Lumia 900 and I know ATT LTE coverage is very strong in Orlando as well as Verizon.
So wondering if this is a fake LTE GSM gnex? I am sure it's fake but does the guy think he's fooling some people claiming it gets LTE signal?
Most likely fake.

Edit: 1) It's a GSM Galaxy Nexus box picture.
2) Korean Galaxy Nexuses come with 1750 and 2000 mah battery (apparently)
3) http://www.samsung.com/sec/consumer/mobile-phone/smart-phone/kt/SHW-M420KTSKC-spec thats the model that he posted. Support Specifications WCDMA / GSM
Even if it were a GSM/LTE device, you'd still have to be ultra careful about the LTE bands, because there are like 170 different LTE bands planned by carriers, world wide.
It's going to be a huge mess.
It's most likely fake. Even if it has a Lte radio, it doesn't mean it will work on At&t's Lte bands.
I actually talked to the guy. He goes to asia a lot. He actually was an educated dude and travels to asia a lot.
It is the Korean model like you guys say. He confirmed it. He says Korean run a 1.7/1.8 LTE band in S Korea now.
So I guess it's got LTE but it sure doesn't help me in the USA since it will not pick up LTE signal with ATT.
Yup the only GSM Galaxy Nexus with LTE is the i9250K which as stated above is the South Korean Galaxy Nexus

Probably is LTE and very probably won't work on LTE in the US.
So, he's probably being truthful but it probably won't work.
Probably.
Just meet him, place your AT&T SIM in it and see what happens. If it doesn't work, offer $250 on the spot. After he cools down, walk away empty handed.
Will the GSM Galaxy Nexus battery door work on the Verizon Nexus?
No, not without modification I believe. The clip positions are different.

I still don't have it, now my question is; is our phones equipped for it?
Should I see a LTE sign at the top, mine still says H, and im getting bad speeds
My radio is:
XXLF1
Any ideas?
No no and no.
GSM nexus have no LTE radio, even then, Verizon and sprint nexus won't work, for they operate on different band.
Will the next nexus have a longer screen?
I'm not talking about Verizon and Sprint
I'm talking about Rogers/Fido new '4g' service (it has been in effect for a while I suppose, but has been rolled out to new cities today)
in the link I posted, did you check it?

It doesn't matter what you are talking about.
If you are referring to lte, the gsm nexus DOES NOT have a radio capable of it
Raise yer mizzenmast and swab 'er poop deck!
I understand; thanks to both of you
is there even an LTE Galaxy Nexus for Canada?

Oh well, I'll just have to import the Galaxy Note 2 tomorrow
Do you any of you bright guys know if that would function on LTE here (2100 band right)?

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_ii_n7100-4854.php says something about an n7105 near the 2100 band, might want to verify it'll work on rogers, or just wait till rogers release its own.
