Version 2.3.4 has that build in. All you do is press the power button and one of the options is to take screenshot.

[Q] Photo & Video buttons on same screen?

Hi.. maybe i'm missing something (very probable), but i can't seem to find out if it's possible to have both buttons on the camera screen at once, for taking a photo or starting a video recording.
I've attached three pics to show what i'm on about.
1st shows M8 camera screen. Only button is to take a picture.
2nd shows M8 dual shot screen, on here it's possible to do both, take a pic or start a video.
3rd is from the One X camera screen. On it it's also possible to do both from the same screen.
Is it possible to get both options on screen on the M8? or do i have to keep switching between photo & video mode in the menu? which is a bit annoying if i want to quickly take a picture but have forgotten to switch to photo mode!
Thanks in advance for any help. :good:
That'll be a no then
By going to video mode (press the 4 circles in bottom right of the screen and select video), you can start recording video, and after you record a while, 2-3 sec, a camera button (that captures images while recording) appears under the stop button.
I don't know if there is any other way to get them both simultaneously.
The second pic is dual capture mode. This mode allows to use front and back camera at the same time not take a pic and video. You can see the red box in the corner which is the front camera image.

What i meant is that the buttons to take a picture or start recording a video are both on screen.
What i hoped for was a way to have it like the last pic from the One X, so that as soon as you start the camera up you can have photo & video buttons on screen.. but it seems as if that's not possible, maybe because of the two cameras on the back of the M8?

What about the Zoe option? You can take pictures with it or you can hold the "capture" button in for 3 seconds or so and it starts recording a video.

There already is that option in camcorder mode. As soon as you start recording the camera button becomes available for taking pictures.

This isn't exactly the best option since you lose any ability to use the duo camera effects if you take pictures with Zoe. Does anyone know of any mods that bring back the photo capture and video capture buttons on the stock Sense 6 camera UI screen at the same time?

Screenshot issues

When I take a screenshot, through the software or actual buttons, the screen to edit, for a scrolling screenshot, goes away almost instantly, how do I make this last longer? It's so quick I cannot make a scrolling screenshot.

AFAIK
screenshot is just one clip of screen.
you want screen record for moving screen capture.
power and volume down is screenshot
power and volume up is screen record
I may be wrong, but I recall seeing an option to do a long screenshot, where it scrolls down the page for a full screenshot

Top Shot from latest Camera app 7.2

I read about the new Camera app 7.2 from this article:
https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/...al-sharing-and-astrophotography-apk-download/
It is said that Pixel 2 got "Top Shot" feature:
Added Touch and hold on the shutter button to capture Top Shot photos in the default camera mode (Pixel 2, 3, 3a, and 4).
But, how to enable or use it?
If I do that "touch and hold on the shutter button", it would capture a motion and saved as .MP4, and that's it.

You can actually select shots from that video. isn't that what top shot is? or am i mistaken?
Is it when you click a pic and the camera takes few pics before and after to select from?

No, not click, but "touch and hold" as stated in the article from Android Police.
If I click, I got just 1 photo.
If I touch and hold, I got a short movie.
The linked article says the Pixel 2 does not have Top Shot. "but since the Pixel 2 doesn't have Top Shot"

Camera app

Hello. I want my phone to take a picture every second with 108MP option on. There is an app called "Open Camera" and it can take a picture every second but the resolution is 12mp - 4,000x3000. The ultra resolution is 12,000x9,000. I'm looking at android developers on Fivver but most of them don't know how to do edit the app or make a new one. Anyone here knows how I can make my phone take a picture every second and make like 100 pictures?
Burst shot, see settings in camera set it to burst.
Swipe shutter button to edge.
Take burst shot

Burst shots are low quality pictures. Anyways, I found a solution. It's called Auto Click app. It will push shutter button for you and take as many pictures as you want.
