[Q] Will VZW GNEX Battery fit in the GSM Global GNEX? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I know it's only a 100mAH jump (Global comes w/1750 and VZW comes w/1850) but with this phone the more battery the better! Just wondering if they are swappable.

No, different shape/sizes.

[Q] Why is there more roms/devs programs for the GSM versus CDMA?

As the question states I'm a bit of a newb to the actual developing of programs however why is it that there is an way more GSM roms/kernels/hacks for GSM GN or any phone for that matter?
Is it harder to develop for CDMA? or is it just less popular?
I have a verizon CDMA GN and understand its way new but am wondering if I should not get my hopes up on lots of different roms to choose from?
Coming from my old samsung vibrant its a bit of a change.
Thanks!
because gsm has been out alot longer
-Gsm has been out since november
-Cdma has only been out for a week or less. I believe it dropped last thursday morning.
as droidstyle said, it's basically because of the time.
the GSM version has been out since november, and is useable all over europe, and also in the united states on AT&T and T-Mobile.
the CDMA-LTE version has barely been out for a week, and is only available on verizon and is not useable anywhere else.
so already you have a larger userbase and timespan for the GSM.
but honestly, don't worry about it. all the major roms like cyanogen will come out for both.
Yeah pretty simple answer is GSM has a way larger population of owners, and been out 4 times as long as the CDMA version.
GSM is sold mainly in Europe and can be used on two U.S. carriers, where as the CDMA version is on one single U.S carrier only. And the CDMA phone just came out on Thursday.
Now if we get the other U.S. CDMA carrier to get this phone = Sprint that would help development, plus I believe one of the largest carriers in China is also CDMA ?
Plus I don't believe it would be too hard to port the GSM roms to the Verizon Nexus....Right?

which would you choose?

I would like to get the opinions of the people with the tegra version of the phone. I am in the united states on att without the upgrade.
I'm trying to decide which version to buy outright. The dual core of the att version has comparable results to the tegra version. It is limited to 16 gigs, but supposedly at this point has much better battery life. I'm sure I could nab the international version for about fifty bucks less since the att version just came out.
What I'm really worried about are the tegra screen issues and storage issues and am wondering what others would do in my situation.
Thanks guys!
International version if you have the choice and don't need the LTE and have a GSM provider.
It will have the better dev support.
I would definitely go for the att version. Battery life is so much better and that S4 processor performs really well and doesn't overheat.

Does the Samsung Galaxy S3 2100mAh battery fit Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if the Samsung Galaxy S3 larger battery, 2100 mAh fit the GSM Galaxy Nexus?
This would make it a better option than the stock extended battery at 2000mAh
My initial suspicion is that the S3 is based off of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus chassis which means it might not fit.
This comes to my next point: IMHO, all these early reviewers are dumb ****s missing key insights like this and instead focusing on their dime-a-dozen cookie-cutter reviews.
The VZW extended battery is 2100mAh

Thanks for your response but I forgot to add that I was referring to compatibility with the GSM version of the Galaxy nexus. I know that the Verizon version is 2100 mAh

I chose T999 because it has penta band HSPA - meaning, it gets full HSPA signal on both AT&T and T-Mobile. Performance wise I think it's kind of a toss up.
-Sent from my GS3 running CM10.-
I agree with phositadc. As far as performance goes, its almost the same due to the US variants having 2 gigs of ram vs the 1 gig on the int'l. I also like having the choice of carrier between ATT & TMO and being able to fully utilize either network; the int'l version will only get edge speeds for data on TMO.
IMO if you don't spend a lot of time traveling out of the country, go with the T999.
Edit:
Comparison
Pretty much identical except for some frequencies used, ram, and CPU

Z2 Force Variations, which is recommended?

Seen a number of variations of the phone, wonder which is best and why. From a radios aspect looks like Verizon -01 is best having the most CDMA and GSM radios.
Verizon has also released the Android 9 which is nice. Next is the Sprint -02 phone, it also has both sets of radios, but not as many frequencies.
Does having both sets of radios come at a price? Meaning more power consumption or other issues? Also I've been some variants with 128GB and 6GB of RAM. Are these limited to overs seas? Can they be found for a decent price?
I plan on using on the TracFone network GSM.
regards,
Mike
If you want root I would say anyone other than Verizon or AT&T, as their boot loaders can't be unlocked.. Plus it also will depend on which Carrier you are using.. As far as RAM goes, I not sure, my Sprint as 4GB and I'm satisfied as far as what I actually do with the phone. When it comes to power consumption it will depend on how ever of a user your are.
