OK so the phone has 16gb and I have a 16gb SD as well. My games add up to about 2gb in the android folder. Should I move them?
Since the phone SD is split in two is there really a difference. Should move to external SD?

Being that the phone has almost 2gb of space available for apps, is anyone still moving apps to the SD? I've got a 16gb card in mine, and I moved the apps I could to it. Old habit from previous devices, I guess.

Same here....i moved all the apps that could be moved to SD. Although it was almost 2 gigs for apps but y do we want to put the load on internal storage when we have option. Once i root it more apps will be going to SD.....i think it helps the phone to work better.
i'm planning to use Link2SD app it works better than the stock in Move 2 SD from AOS
I am not able to move any of my apps over to my sd card? Is there something I should do so I can do this? Thanks

We don't have an apps2sd. I can't remember if that's just the way ics is set up or if its cause the phone is set up that way. But there is a mod in the dev section that lets you swap internal for external

Thanks I will search for it.

why do you need to? you have 16gb on internal storage... then an extra sd card for media etc...
Not sure why he needs it, but I would like it as I have two Gameloft apps installed. They're huge and take up gigs of space. Would be nice to move them easily to my 64 gig SD.

Sorry if this is a rather silly question. But when you insert a micro sd card into the note, does it simply make your storage space expand from the internal memory, so when you install large apps they share the memory or do you have to physically move the apps across to the card. If you know what I mean

Most apps install in system partition but the data of few larger apps is installed in internal memory like gameloft games or data in android folder.
You simply can not move those files to sd card. U need root access and 'movetosd' app to move system data to external MMC.

Is there a program that allows you to sync the folders on internal memory with the sd memory card?

What do you mean?
I dont know if this is the right direction you wanna go, but you could make a symlink from your internal sd to your external sd

The gs3 doesnt allow you to move apps to an, inserted, microsd card, so I would like to sync folders from the internal memory to an, inserted, microsd card.

Why not just use apps2sd? I personally dont know of any app that lets you sync between internal and external storage

Closed. Double post....
I cant seem to figure out how to get apps that ive downloaded on my external sd card I only have a class 4 16gb sd but everything goes to device instead of card

This is a major flaw with the note. You can put data on the card, but you cant put apps or cache movies from google play, etc...
It is a limitation with jelly bean, but samsung has not provided a work around. I will research this more before buying my next phone.

One potential solution is to get a bigger sd card and swap the internal and external storage. For example I have a 64 gig sd card that my note 2 now sees as internal storage. With your current 16 gig card it makes no sense to do this, but if you NEED more storage for apps this may be the only way. As far as I know there is no way to transfer app data to the external sd, but if this is incorrect someone feel free to correct me. If you are interested in swapping the sd card to internal storage this was the thread I followed:

EDIT: I've heard that some people are having success with an app called "link2sd" from the play store, but it wouldn't work consistently for me. Maybe worth a try though...
Thank you very much for the great info ..I will give that a shot ....xda community Rocks !!!!
