Anyone know of a good compatible wireless headset? One that won't fall off due to jogging or hurrying... I don't mind looking at cheap ones and expensive ones...
Try the Bose ie2 in ear phones. I use them when I am running they never fall out my ear.

Huh...OK, maybe something cheaper than that... that one isn't wireless, though...

none if your going to be jogging or running or any hurried movement i wouldn't trust a wireless headset unless it was specially designed to basically bend completely round your ear.
a google search might help though.

i would recommend nokia bh-503..i have one..it has bass...super bass...plus good quality and perfect fit...
I use my wireless xbox 360 headset with bluetooth, the new ones. The sound is realyl really loud and crisp. I really love this new headset, plus I can use it for my xbox and my xperia play.
Thanks for the suggestions... can you actually make phone calls with any of these sets?

On mine yes. I have tried 2 other headsets and this works well. If you mean voice dialing then mine can do that, although I think that is something that pertains to the phone itself....
Am using Logitech Wireless Headset for iPad
it's ok...
OK. I just got the Jabra Stone 2... it's perfect except for that it comes off way too easily... I don't have to do much...just walk, and it's already loose. Now I am looking to get something that stays on. Anyone know of a BT headset that has built-in voice command control, like this one, has good battery life, operates at a long range, make calls, has A2DP, and actually stays on (preferably when in a hurry or jogging)?
This is a very cool headset. It comes with a very small cradle you can carry around and it acts as a portable charger, with a battery built in, that can charge the headset 3 times...
Unless there is a piece you can buy to snap onto the headset to make the fit better...
I would also like to recommend the Nokia BH-03 headphones, I use them all the time on the running machine/cross country trainer. Battery lasts around a dozen hours between charging.
Don't bother with Nokia BH-01's they are identical, except for build quailty. The plastic band that wraps around your head tends to snap. My BH-03's are much sturdier and I can't see that happening

As somebody already stated, Sony Ericsson mw600. It's my way to go. Sound quality is really nice for a bluetooth headset, well built, volume is not so high but (as for the standard xperia play headphones) it's good in bass range. Not easy to find in-hears with such basses. Stock headphone isn't bad at all and fits fine for me, and anyway, you can change it with something you prefer. It also gives you a simple FM radio...which the Xperia Play lacks. Fast to recharge, battery lasts, unexpensive device, once paired...just works!
Perfect Xperia Play companion, in my opinion.
Girlfriend's car has a factory CD player with no aux input, so I bought a belkin FM transmitter to plug into her galaxy s.
We've found that in rural areas it is acceptable sound quality until you get into or close to a town. Sometimes it even seems to get interference from nearby traffic. Quite a fickle device, at some points it's better to hold the transmitter in your hand or lay it on your lap. Guess it uses your body as an antenna to some extent.
Has anyone had better experiences with similar devices? Are there any DIY hardware hacks to increase the reception/amplify the signal?
I'm thinking maybe cracking the thing open and improving the antenna somehow.
I'd give the model number if I had it in front of me right now.

Not quite what you are asking for but I would look into an FM modulator. They can be picked up for around 15-$25 at Walmart, pepboys, autozone ect
That's what it is, Belkin TuneCast FM transmitter/modulator.

Sorry I meant wired. I've never liked wireless for the reason you described. And a few years ago the FCC has made it so FM transmitters like these and in sirrius radios cant send as strong a signal as they once could. Which is why I like the wired. Just give it power and ground and plug it into the cars antenna.
Here is an example. You can find them locally without the switch/auxiliary power loacally I'm sure. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B001QBG614/ref=dp_image_z_0?ie=UTF8&n=15684181&s=automotive
I see. It plugs directly into the antenna input on the back of the head unit and then the car antenna piggy backs to it. Yeah that should be much better!
Doubt this small town would have it. Maybe radio shack but doubtful.
Doesn't look like too much trouble once you pull the head unit. Where is it getting power from?
Thanks

most 12v switched sources should be fine, though most I see just run it to the fuse panel inside. Most kits Ive seen have an Inline fuse on the 12V wire so you could tap any switched 12V that you feel wont give you to much noise.
should be able to find them at any auto store that has an audio/electronics section or walmart
Maybe this will be inspiration for me to get one for my work truck. Depending where I drive I get great signal or none for my Sirius satellite
Does wally world carry the modulators perhaps?

I've had a few Belkins and found them to be too quit sounding (when you flip to another FM its a lot louder) and too low of range. I'm using a Satechi Soundfly right now, it can read from USB or SD card or be fed by AUX input. It has pretty decent volume output and good range. Also it allows you to use 87.7 and 87.9 which are mostly empty, where as most Belkins won't go below 88.1.
i bought one from DealExtreme a while ago cheap, and did the job but broke down after a while, so just make sure you buy a good device and you'll enjoy it.

Satechi Soundfly looks pretty cool, if I deside not to use my phone and use the USB cable (I have a 16gb card that is too slow for WP7 but, would work for music), it will show the name via RDS, that's pretty cool, I'll get the song names showing up on my cars navi screen.
I have a older Belkin one I use. I am always looking fir something better.

When I plug in my charger into the outlet, I hear a faint hiss; when the charging completes, and when I remove the charger from the outlet, the hiss still persists for some 2-3 seconds. Is this normal?
Mine doesn't, but my wife's htc sensation does & it drives me nuts. I have not figured out a fix either. Tried different cords, chargers, nothing.

I have same problem but only hear the hissing sound when car charging it while using the audio jack. Have you try differnt charger? Is there any magnetic static whatever may think cause your charging sound.

I do t think its normal to make a sound like that. Hey if this problem cannot be fix and you try everything you could then, your only choice is using your insurance if you have one and get it fix. Good luck!

YES I get this problem too and when I notice it, I get really annoyed. I first noticed this about a week ago and I had trouble falling asleep because of it.
It's strange because I read everyone's comments in the N7100 forum on XDA, and they confirm that this is indeed normal because of higher amperage. I can hardly hear the hissing on my charger unless I put my ear next to it. Obviously, I would believe this is normal then. I have an HP laptop which comes with a travel adapter that hisses. As a matter of fact, I have two HP chargers, both do the same hiss, lol.
Also, I get the average current somewhere between 1200 and 1400 milli-amps, and occasionally, the Max amperage that shows on my charger is 1,800. I'm under the impression that the chargers don't provide consistent output. When the phone is switched off, I would believe that the max current is provided. Probably, nothing to worry about then. Though, there seems to be a lot hype over this. Samsung...
I actually have two stock Samsung chargers. They are both 2000 miliampers and they BOTH do that annoying noise. ((((((((
I've confirmed this is normal; the Samsung chargers are rated at 2 amperes; therefore, the hissing sound is present. HOWEVER, if your hissing is so loud that you can hear even from a few feet away, replace it at once, because its an indicator that the capacitors have either gone bad, or there is a wiring issue (similar to a bad circuit board, etc). Minimum hiss like what I'm facing is normal.
Now, coming to the amperage output, I don't get the full 2A current. Samsung is duping their customers. Shame on them. The current fluctuates; it would have been reasonable if Samsung listed a range instead of fixed # for the listed amperes on their stock chargers. I don't see anyone getting full current (even on the N7100 forum).
Something tells me its due to the charger being made in China but made for US... I mean even my electric razor hisses when plugged in lol

Hello,
After doing some research I have decided on the V-Moda M80 headphones. They include two cables, one for android and one for iPhone, but through my research I have found that the cables may be incompatible with some devices.
So has anybody used the M80's with the Galaxy Nexus and what are your thoughts on them?
Did the cable/remote work as designed or did you have to reverse the cable and lose the remote functionality?
Thanks

Wow nobody owns the M80's I guess. Can anybody compare the headphone jack configuration on the Galaxy S2 vs.Galaxy Nexus?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I actually owned a pair of m-80's a couple of months ago and used them on my galaxy nexus just fine. I don't recall the iPod certified cable working at all, or maybe just the middle button, but the android single button cable works just fine. Just make sure you're getting those headphones if you really can tell the difference in them from some other lower priced ones. I decided they didn't warrant the price after I got them but some audiophiles can really tell a difference.

I have tried pairs that are very cheap and even very expensive and I could hear a difference compared to the headphones I'm using currently which I got free.
Thank you for confirming the cable works.
EDIT: While you had the M80's how did you find the comfort and isolation of them?

I thought they were really comfortable but the noise isolation and leakage was pretty bad, but that's kind of what you'd expect from a set of on-ear headphones.

I've browsed these forums a bit over the years, but I wanted to post (my first I think?) and say that I got these headphones today, and I have to reverse the cable with my Note 2.
Bit late now, will elaborate tomorrow.
So, the one button cable works pretty good for me plugged in the correct direction, just so long as I keep the 45 degree plug facing to the right while looking at my phone. If I turn the plug so it faces to the front or back, or anything in between that isn't to the right, my right headphone cuts out. The mic works, the button works, but I have to babysit the plug to keep it facing to the right.
What has your experience been? If I reverse the cable, the headphones work great no matter how I turn them. I am trying to research a cable that works, but so far I've had no luck.
My set only came with the android and iphone cable, no standard no-button one like I've read other have received. Maybe I should send V-Moda an email, I've heard they are quite accommodating.

That's interesting regarding the cable, maybe your cable is defective, I have spun the jack while connected to my phone with $5 headphones and the audio didn't cut out. I still haven't ordered the M80's, I have been trying to research a bit more as the m80's have poor isolation/comfort based on reviews I've read and I need good comfort and decent isolation, so the m80's might not be the right fit for my usage.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I don't think that the cable is defective as it were, I've read of others having the same problem. Reversing the cable seems to solve it, but then I lose the mic. I am going to try cleaning the headphone jack and emailing V-Moda. I have been having some problems with the Samsung headphones, twisting the plug can cut the right side in and out, but not predictably like the V-Modas. Cheapo sets don't exhibit this behavior, I am thinking it is something to do with the microphone.
Regarding comfort and isolation, I find both to be sufficient. Outside noises don't bother me, but I do tend to listen loudish. Prolonged use has fatigued my ears a bit, but that was while I was wearing my glasses, which I only do at work. I've heard that the ear pads break in over the first week or so, I'll be better equipped to comment in the near future.
They sound great. If you can get them from somewhere with a liberal return policy, I'd suggest giving them a try.

Does the audio work correctly when you hold down the button on the remote? Regarding the comfort, I have read its either very good or its bad depending on your head size/shape. The other alternative I'm considering is the Monster DNA On-ears they are supposedly very similar in sound to the m80's but with a hint more bass but the DNA are quite a bit more comfortable.

Holding down the button on the remote brings up the Google voice search. Kinda handy. But not if I can't get both headphones working consistently.
I'm going to a high end audio store here locally today...they sell lots of expensive headphones. Maybe one of them will have an idea. I don't mind buying new cables, I just want them to work.

Hi guys,
I would appreciate some help if anyone has the knowledge or acces.
I was given a note n7105 that had been water damage. I cleaned it up and got it working but it had a mic issue.
The short story is that I found a loose component on the board that looked like it had corroded at one end. I tried to solder it back on but being as far gone as it was, it disintegrated.
Now all this does is make the on board mics completely useless, they don't work at all ( I assume it provides ac coupling to/from the audio chip) but the Bluetooth/auxiliary mic does (which I think is coupled by a component adjacent to the broken one).
I am in desperate need of the value of that component (assumed capacitor) to make my mic/s work again.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Yes I've googled this for three days. No I haven't found any useful information yet that is why I'm asking here.

Hi,
Microfone coupling capacitors can be very diferent. You can can try one of 1 uf, and experiment, if that doesn't go well try another value like 4.7uf or 10 u or even 100 nf.
You can buy 4 or 5 eletrolityc capacitors with diferent values and try. Place it with carefull and don't heat too much the motherboard.
After you find the one that suits better,
buy smd and place it.
Thanks mocito. I cleaned it up with about 350° heat small hakko tip ( way too big BTW) but it worked. I know a dead short is wrong because the thing wouldn't turn on. Open circuit I believe is the cause of my audio routing issues, mainly because I had the opposite problem true the day before. The on board mics worked and the headsets wouldn't. I found this component leaning on the one next to it, and when removed it brought about my current issue.
It would be nice to confirm that this component is tied to the onboard mic audio.
I'll try a few different values if I can get my hands on them and give it a shot. It would be nice to get working. Kinda just sporting a small tablet in its current function.

Well I fixed it. Two problems I had with this unit. That cap was dislodged and my mic (board assembly at the bottom of the phone with the antenna contacts) was also jiggered. But, with some perseverance I got a capacitor about the same size as the big one just above those two tiny ones and soldered one pad to the side of that big one and to the bottom of the little one that I am assuming couples the audio for the bluetooth and external headsets. They were in common with the top and bottom solder pads for the missing capacitor. Once again if someone can confirm my assumptions I would appreciate it. Thanks mocito for your input.
