Speaker used when Headphones plugged in. - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My ringtones play from the speaker when i have my headphones plugged in, is there anyway to make it so it only plays from the headphones? This started when I upgraded to Cyanogen 7.1.0 with the previous version of cyanogen this didn't happen. I tried the "always play on speaker" settings but nothing happens. So pretty much i want to disable the speaker when i have headphones plugged in.
Thanks for the help.

No audio... help!

So this morning, after my usual flashing of the latest Cyanogen nightly, I noticed that my Inc was no longer putting out any audio. Without thinking twice I recovered the previous nightly, but I'm still getting no sound from notifications/ringtones, music or alarms. Thanks in advice for any suggestions.

Update: I plugged my phone into my stereo and am getting audio again, but still not from the phone itself when I unplug it again. This leads me to believe it to be a hardware issue, which is probably not an easy fix. Should I start looking for a new phone? I use it as my alarm and I need to hear my ringtones because I don't always feel it on vibrate so it's not very useful to me now...
I'm seeing a similar behavior. I have audio until I use a BT headset. Once one has been used, I lose all audio from the phone speaker (even after the BT headset is disconnected). I'll have to try a wired headset to see if the audio is redirected. Only a reboot will restore my audio from the phone speaker. If the headset supports A2DP, I lose all audio even through the BT headset.
Does a reboot fix your audio?
Reboot does not fix my audio. I figured out that it is a problem with the speaker itself, which is very easily replaced http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799592
My audio works fine when plugged into my stereo or headphones, but is intermittent from the speaker. Apparently Incredibles are known to blow speakers?

[Q] Sound plays over headphones and speakers

Hello friends,
i just noticed when i have my headphone plugged in the notification and ringer sound plays over speaker AND headphone. The jack is fully pushed in. I would like to know if there's a possibility to turn this off, so only my headphones play the sound? I'm using CM11 Rom. I've read some custom roms have an option for this feature, but mine does not or i haven't found it yet.
Best regards

[Q] Sound on speakers with headphones plugged in

I'm using a pair of apple wired headphones no volume buttons just the ear buds.
When I plug it in and play pandora or songza it seems the music will play through speakers even though headphone is connected. I have to unplug and replug the headphones while the song is playing for the music to switch.
It's not totally consistent but happens frequently. It may be worse when im switching between multiple apps, pandora -> songza. Or if there is a delay between starting songs.
This happens on stock sony and CM11.
Thank

[Solved] Phone will not function with inline mic/volume control headphones plugged in

The other day my boss picked up a couple Note 8s to use as work phones. I was curious to see what these "premium ear buds" sounded like compared to my $10 skull candy buds so a few minutes ago I plugged them in to give it a go. When I plugged them in, Poweramp did not autoplay as it should and when I manually opened the app it started lagging, froze like a PC from the mid 90's and music would not play. I tried unplugging and plugging back in a couple times and got the same response each time. I tried youtube and same thing, no music and videos wont even play....unplug the headphones and returns to normal but with them plugged in audio and video simply will not play. Phone can be frozen up and stuttering and if I unplug and then plug other headphones in everything is fine, so its something with the AKGs. Also, the inline volume control takes 45+ seconds to register on the device. Basically the phone is inoperable with these headphones plugged in. Since my skulll candy buds dont have a mic or inline control Im wondering if its a bug with all headphones with inline control or is it something with AKG headphones specifically.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
Edit: Phone literally will not function with these headphones plugged in...not just audio video. Its like the phone goes haywire the second they are plugged in and apps just stop responding
Update: Ive narrowed it down to the Audio Modification Library magisk module.
No problems with the earbuds that came with my old iphone 5 as well as the Samsung pair from my S5.
I tried another brand of headphones with inline control and experienced the same issues.....time to flash stock kernel and rule some things out.
Update: Its not kernel related. Ive narrowed it down to a Magisk Module that is causing the issue....will report back which one it is so no one else has to go through this. Its the Audio Modification Library module which is a component of some sound mods.
I'm on stock 4.7.6 with Bluspark kernel and have issues using wired headsets.
The phone really doesn't like my HTC 10 ones. Tried an iPhone set which has volume controls. Every time I select Vol-/+ audio stops and device asks for unlock pin.
No such issue with either headset on my Nexus 5.
I'm wondering if this phone isn't built for using headsets with controls.

Headphone music playback unplugs/replugs over and over

Hey anyone have any audio issues on this phone or possibly another MIUI device? Here's what I'm getting:
Usually, I plug in my headphones and right away I get great volume and my player auto-plays. But as it keeps playing the music pauses for a second and then resumes automatically. The headphones icon disappears in the notification area for that time when the music stops. I thought it may be Poweramp's issue but the same thing happens in the default MIUI Music app. (Playing MP3s from SD card - haven't tried streaming apps yet.)
If I unplug and replug the headphones from the audio jack, the same thing happens still. But after I unplug and replug a bunch of times, eventually the music suddenly starts playing at about half the volume it was initially, and the problem no longer occurs! To clarify, the volume is still set to 100% but the actual output volume is only half as loud as it was initially when the problem occurs.
There's no MIUI audio settings I can find that could be responsible for this.. Any ideas??
This happened to me too, the problem is in outdated headphones jack. Try a few other ones, the newer versions of the handsfree will fit accordingly.

Interesting. Just to clarify, you're saying that the device I'm plugging into my phone (headphones) is the problem, right? It would make sense why other speakers I've plugged in haven't had this issue.. I wonder why it'd be happening since I've never run into this issue with any other phone and I've had these headphones for many years now.

Yes the device is fault. When you plug in the jack, the headphone icon starts blinking right? it goes on and off and keeps on until you force it to play some song.. I had been using my favorite headphones for 1.5 years and i had to buy new ones when i bought this phone because they wont work properly.
