[Q] Missed Call/Text notification ringtone at boot ? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I haven't seen this anywhere on the web..
Is anyone else annoyed by the stupid ringtone that plays after boot when you have a missed call/text?
I don't see any setting to turn this off anywhere.. I can easily delete the .ogg ringtone with root explorer but I want to actually turn the notification off or remove/alter the code that causes it..
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks!

don't know about you, but i find that feature very important and useful
i want to know of all my missed calls or messages during a reboot, or just before the reboot

Well for me it's highly annoying when I'm rebooting at work and widgetlocker kicks in and hides it so that I can't stop it and then it plays loudly for several seconds

for that i always put my phone on mute or vibrate only before reboot

yes, however I am looking for an automated solution..
I guess what I will do is replace the .ogg file with a better ringtone, something more subtle.. until I figure out where the code is so I can alter it.

the easy way to change ringtones and alerts tones, i use Zedge, free from market

That won't change what I am taking about. And changing ringtones is easy..

Lost ringtone, anyone

I need some help. I've lost my ringtone on my trinity. Not that I've lost the actual file, i'ts still there. When I enter Settings->Sound & Notifications, I can still Pre-listen/Define the ringtone but when I get a call theres no sound.
The same thing happens when my fon is set to vibrate, then it simply don't vibrate.
I have this idea that it may be some Regitry settings but i have no idea where to look?
Thanks

Silent Notifications

Gday guys
Probably a stupid question and I'm missing something blatently obvious but I can't see a way to make the notifications silent but still have an audible ringtone.
Any solutions?
Cheers
All good now. Not sure of there is an actual solution but I thought of a workaround by adding a silent mp3 file to the notifications folder.
Good fix

[Q] Slightly advanced questions : Speech recognition sounds bloops & beeps

Hello all XDA. I have heard great things about you and used some of your root and Kernel releases. Thanks!
I think I may be ready to go the the next level (for a dammed newbie) in jacking up my Galaxy S3, and applying the latest manipulations you guys have going. I have two very important questions:
1:
when I start speech recognition, it emits a loud "bleepBloop" to inform me that it is ready, and then another bleep (a different one) when I am finished entering voice data.
Other forums have called this the "speech recognition bleep" and called it a generated tone.
I have also seen a secret code #*7200# that is supposed to mute the tone generator on an S3, but I am not sure of it will also mute the custom sounds I have for my rings and alerts
Using root browser, I have gone to every folder I know of in "system-media", and renamed or deleted all the sounds except for the five I use, (Email, SMS, Facebook alert, Ringtone and alarm tone) and I also searched for every aiff, MP3, Ogg, or WAV file I could find on the phone and could not find anything like what I hear every time I search using google, or enter voice to text mode.
this is baffling. Where are these sounds located on my S3? how can I get rid of them?
2: What are your recommendations for making my S3 as fast as possible?
Thanks!
PM

It's very possible that the sounds are stored in the app itself in the raw folder.
Where is the Raw file or file folder located?
thanks!

[Q] "Kimchee" ringtone keeps ringing. On my LG G3 for Sprint

So this problem I have had I am assuming since the first day I bought the phone. Everytime I try to change the ringtone, no matter what ringtone I change it to, it somehow always defaults to this "kimchee" ringtone. It would sometimes ring to the ringtone I change it to but for the most part it would ring to the "kimchee" ringtone. The odd thing about it is that I can't find this "kimchee" ringtone anywhere on my phone. It's nowhere to be found, so I dunno how it's ringing to that ringtone. I am not rooted so I can't look too deep in the system files. I've tried a hard reset and clearing the media storage cache and none of those options work. Clearing the cache worked for a day and then somehow went back to the "kimchee" ringtone when I get calls. Anyone have this happen to them or have a fix? Thanks.
No one else has run into this problem?
I read your post yesterday and to be honest, it was rather amusing reading your post. I don't really know how you got this kimchee ringtone. By the way u know what kimchee mean?? Its a traditional Korean side dish which is chilly pickled cabbage lol... Maybe u got that ringtone specially made for you by LG??
