Is there some centralized place where one can find changes for stuff like hiding statusbar icons, adding items the power menu and settings, etc? It becomes time consuming when I decide I want to change something and I have to search for a half hour to find each change.
Particularly, I'm looking to change the behavior of the battery icon when my phone is charging. Some ROMs have the icon switching between the charging icon and the regular icon while some have the icon continually fill while charging. I know it's in framework-res.apk, I just don't know where.
I've gotten pretty good at theming, I'm just looking for references to save some time.

It usually comes with the taskbar. Search for a taskbar, depending on what rom & build are you using, to find one suitable for you. There are a lot of choices, all you need is to look around for a little bit.

I have search high, and low, and all I seem to be able to find is that you need to have a rooted device to be able to change the icons in the status bar, and what not. Well my slide is rooted, but I do no see any where that tells how to change them, or change the battery icon to show % and what not. Could someone point me in a direction, or give me some pointers on how to change the icons? Mainly the battery app/icon, I want one that shows % in the right, which most apps will show a % but then I have 2 battery icons, I just want the 1.
Along the lines of his question. Whatever happened to the status bar/tweak options in CM Settings for CM7?
They are implementing the color changing through the themes app they are providing. I wouldnt be suprised if the theme process will eventually cover the unlock slider aswell.
I seem to have a problem with replacing smaller icons in .apk files and getting them to display correctly.
for example i was trying to turn the power savings bar (quick shortcuts widget) blue instead of green. i can replace the colors in settings.apk/res/drawable-hdpi with no problem and it does change the color but i can't seem to keep the icon smooth.
using photoshop cs2 if i replace color and save with no other changes the icon is not nearly as crisp.
larger program icons are no problem and seem to look very good.
but smaller icons for the buttons such as the screen timeout icons end up slightly blurred compared to the original. this happens even if i select the blank areas first and invert and create a new layer.
im sure it's something stupid a setting ect. im missing but if anyone has an idea id be appreciative.
only seems to happen or be noticeable with the smaller 47 x 47 icons.
doesn't seem to happen on even the 48 x 48 icons or larger.
Hmmmmm seems i found a fix. its a little more work but creating my own larger icon and rescaling down to the smaller size seems to work quite well.
a little more work but at least i get the effect i wanted.
still would like to know if anyone has an ez way to just recolor an image.
All I'm wanting to do is be able to make the toggle buttons smaller, remove the text from the toggles, and I also want to remove the toggle indicator underneath the icons. I want the notification drop down to look a lot cleaner; similar to the one from Paranoidandroid . There's a screenshot of the notification drop down attached to this post.
I would also like to be able to have the drag bar be able to light up when you touch it. It's a feature in the Galaxy Nexus and in the paranoidandroid rom as well.
Is there anyone who would be willing to send me some links to tutorials, or a basic how-to's? I've been trying to figure out how to do this myself, but working in the military leaves very little free time like I used to have. I've been googling the crap out of how to do this on my own, but I just keep getting the transparent mods, toggle button mods, and changing the colors.

I miss some graphic files on cm7 rom.I know where they are, but I do not know their names;
between framework, system, phone, and cyan, there are over 3037 files, i know more of them, but some are completly unavailable ( for me)!
for example, color of text the status bar, toggle bar, the bar notifications in the drop down, when we press a long time, the volume bar (so also other applications that have bars volume), the progress bar / upload / download!
I searched many forums and I found something, but not everything!
I'm talking especially to the moderators, this could be a good discussion for graphical editing without uot kitchen, that i found, not customizable as i want!
Some of the android 'graphics' are really just coded .XML or .smali files. The colors are usually coded with the hex color code. Pretty much, if a graphic is not something basic, then it is an actual image.
