Some of you (like me) probably wonders why our i9000 has uniform sound (Waterdrop) for all dialer keys instead of different DTMF tones just as other devices have. For me it was annoying so I've changed it
CWM package for deodexed JVT ROM.
Can't Wait Tomorrow!
Fully working version has been just added. This release should work with JVS too!
cool I like it
can you make one that works in landscape mode ?
Can I use your mod with other themed dialer?

Try to replace DialerTabActivity.apk manually by pushing it to system/app. After that you should get DTMF tones instead of water.
Edit:
DEODEXED ONLY!

Unified sounds for all dial pad keys helps on security and privacy.
Someone could capture the phone number you are dialing, recording the DTMF key sounds (or simply identify them)

Let's not paranoid If we are thinking this way it is quite easy to do many other things like for example tracking someone's lock pattern by observing streaks on dusty shiny display or whatever As I've said, I like it so I've done it
EDIT:
But you are probably right in your idea
BTW I wonder why it is just like that on i900x series only, because mod was ported from Captivate sources, which has this mod build in by default.

I 've just mentioned why the tones are the same for all keys by default.
I don't mind either if someone capture the phone I'm dialing. But maybe someone has something to hide.
Anyway is better to hear the DTMF than unified tones. Well done!
Edit:
Maybe, they are not standard DTMF tones? Or maybe in USA they use different sounds?
You may test if they are DTMF, recording a number and playing it near other phone's microphone.
Rather old post, however will this work on Samsung Galaxy s2? Jelly Bean Water Drops.... Arghhhhhh!!!!!!!

[MOD] Phone.apk with automatic call recording
Features:
Automatic call recording for incoming/outgoing calls
Added template system for flexible naming of records. No boring VoiceRecord001.amr anymore
Disabled stop recording on some actions related to multi-line calling (i.e Hold, Conference mode, etc)
Disabled stop recording when Dialer minimized to background
Switchable increasing ringtone
Modification consist of 2 packages:
Main package: Phone.apk with automatic call recording
Extra package: contains phone-related modifications (DialerTabActivity.apk at this moment)
nb: Main package still fully-workable without Extra package.
There are two ways to control the modification:
Using embedded "Settings" menu (included in Extra package)
Using standalone Automatic Call Recording Control app from Dark3n
Features:
-Turn call recording on/off for incoming/outgoing calls.
-Change file naming pattern for recorded calls.
-View .rec_template file
-Optional Prompt to delete recording after Call
-Turn increasing ring On/Off

Which way to prefer? You can try both and choose the best for you.
Again, if you are using themed FW and don't want to break your general style by using unthemed apps (e.g DialerTabActivity.apk), so just use a Main package together with an Automatic Call Recording Control app.
All records are save in /sdcard/Sounds/CallRecords/. You can use stock "Voice Recorder" app to playback.
System requirements: Tested on SGS GT-i9000 (XWJS3). Most likely should work on any 2.2.1 FW.
Probably will not work on 2.2 FW's.
[*] Flash using CWM or Recovery 2e.
During update process, script will backup your original files to /sdcard/tmp/
To roll it back, flash update_restore_[main_extra_pkgs] file
History:
Version 0.3:
Now project consist of Main and Extra packages
Main (Phone.apk): Completely changed settings storing mechanism: all settings are saved in /sdcard/rec_settings.xml in XML format
(no more .rec_template, .norec_in, .norec_out files)
Main (Phone.apk): Added "Disable increasing ringtone" option
Main (Phone.apk): Fixed bug with special characters in filename
Extra (DialerTabActivity.apk): Embedded "Settings" menu
Installer: "copy" routines moved from update.sh to native updater-script
(should improve compatibility in some cases. Now *.sh using only for backup/restore procedure)
Updated restoring script
Version 0.2a:
Issue with filepath creation was finally solved.
Version 0.2:
Forced sdcard/Sounds/CallRecords/ creation (if you've got "Fail Recording" it should fix it)
Some works on BT-recording. Need more reports.
Version n/a: initial release

You can use just replace only the libaudiopolicy.so and dont touch other 2files but the conversation recorded could be softer. I am currently testing the libaudio.so and libaudioflinger.so from M110s but still the same. I dont know about coding development but if there is anything i can help I will be available. If I can find a better lib file I will update you.
I am more interested in the callback dialer. If you can code this dialer I will be very happy to help you in developing because I use callback service alot. I know how the procedure works.
cheers!

Does anyone already worked in this way on XDA? If so, i could try to talk about implementation.
I am kind of suck if the default sound theme. Does anyone have a sound package that would basically make all of my sounds final fantasy menu navigation sounds? For keyboard, opening and closing of menus and such.
If not. How would I do it on my own? Any good tutorials that could guide me on "skinning" the default sounds? They are boring. Lol.

FF7??
OH! Final Fantasy VII!
Indeed it is possible. If you were to download your favorite ROM and open it up you could navigate system/media/audio/ui and see all of the system ui sounds. the TW_Waterdrop is the audible sound you get when you navigate with the touchscreen.
You can also change low battery sounds, key presses, the dialer, etc.
You would need to get the audio files you want and convert them to .ogg format(I'm assuming). Then replace the stock audio with yours.
Have fun!
Thank you for the speedy reply, sir. I figured it would be something semi-simple. Just did not know if directly modifying system sounds like that would cause a lot of problems.
Guess it is off to my favorite torrent site to see if there are any good audio packages out there.

Final Fantasy soundboards
I found the developer's website who had the FFXI soundboard on the market at one point. He has FF7 there too. You can long press on each song/effect and save as ringtone, notification and/or alarm.
Enjoy.
I'm going to work on making some of them into system sounds in a flashable zip. I just need to map out what each one does.

Bud, you can't run gingerbread kernels on ICS. Which also means you can't have softkey notification on ICS. Flash aN ICS kernel and you'll be fixed.
From what I recall synergy is a gb kernel. U cannot use a gb kernel with an ics rom. Until source code is released, u have to pick. Either no ics, and bln control works, or use ics and forgo bln until source comes out
Thanks!

I use BLN pro (ofcourse with a compatible kernel and a GB rom).
It's pretty neat and can be configured for your sofkeys to blink at a custom rate(I set mine at half a second off and on) so it looks like regular leds. Some iphone users think its pretty legit!
Only reason I have yet to switch to ICS is because of no BLN support, no OC and no DOCK audio

This flash-able Volume-tweak.zip includes both mods simultaneously.
1) Silent Camera!
Volume.db
Replacing the existing volume.db file, the one I'm including disables all shutter sounds (which I may change to one of the shutter sounds), autofocus sounds, and other obnoxious camera tones. I understand that Samsung's idea is to make people aware that others may be photographing them, privacy stuff and all, but let's be honest shall we? Creepers are going to creep one way or another, and the autofocus 'beep' disturbs the baby and makes the dog bark! It also disables the boot sound. Best part of this tweak, it doesn't even touch the actual camera apk!
2) Volume Enhancing!
default_gain.conf
The next is a mod adapted from the developer Meltus. You may know him for other awesome volume modifications, but this one he made for the GSIII international. This should make the phone overall louder in all respects. I have, however, adjusted it from his original settings to keep the volume from reaching 'crackling' volumes and possibly damaging the speakers. This level sounds loud and still sounds good. :good:

It's brilliantly simple. Most android phones come with these settings ingrained into the kernel, but Samsung has left them out. In theory, one could make these adjustments from on the phone itself, if you can open a .db file. Very simple, nothing that can break a phone. Just be careful not to blow out your speaker or your ears.
Sweet, Camera sounds really annoys me.

As an addendum, this tweak is even neater because it disables the camera noises on a system level. I've seen a supposed higher-resolution camcording camera apk floating around that 'supposedly' disables camera noises as well... but it doesn't matter if it does because this tweak stays in effect. I don't believe this will affect other camera apps... but any Samsung camera variant should be muted.

For the sound boost (using the international tweak) you used the config file, correct?
That file does not, by default, exist on our US variants. I've personally included the tweak in my ROM over on T-Mobile. I've had a person or two say it made no difference. Me personally, I thought it was louder then hell (changed speaker boost from 0 to 40 and headphones from 0 to 25). If I put the volume on the lowest possible setting, its very audible still. With my headphones, I put it on three ticks and it was loud. Putting it up fully made me feel like my eardrums were going to pop.
What are your feelings on the tweaks? Do you think they actually work? Considering the config file doesn't exist by default, do you think they're actually pointed to in our system to be used?

I too noticed that the file isn't there, and was momentarily skeptical. But as the base coding is likely fundamentally identical, I thought I'd give it a chance. It's hard to fully test while at work... but I can hear my mp3 alarms quite clearly now. I had made a thread days ago regarding how my songs play fine in the player, but at half volume as alarms. The alarm was much much louder! And I generally have a fairly discerning ear.
That said, I now have to experiment the individual settings I think.

I agree the coding is likely identical. My skepticism comes more from the fact that the file doesn't exist by default. If it doesn't exist, and we add it, does anything in our system actually point to the config file in order for it to actually take effect?
Regardless, I'm pretty positive it works. I just was hoping someone had a better understanding of how it works and if it's actually pointed to.
When you play around with it, mind PMing me your results? I'm curious what you get.
For one, change the headphone settings and try with your headphones plugged in. I think they're extremely loud with the boost set to 25..

There will be, but I have to write up the script to delete the conf file later. The volume.db file need only be replaced by the stock one.
Since I thought that the keyboard sounds inside Android stock are pretty awful, I made this handy Magisk module to change whenever you like, it doesn't do anything special but I think that if you really like to customize Android, you really should do in every possible way as easily as possible. I kinda wanted to make an app to do this but I couldn't make it work for some reason.

As of now it's working fine in Magisk v16.0, it should work with betas too but I haven't tested it
If you need any keyboard sound in particular just ask for it! I'll try to feature as many as I could
Keyboard sounds available:
Stock Android Keyboard sounds
iOS Keyboard Sounds
Samsung Keyboard Sounds
Windows Phone Keyboard Sounds
Thanks for this magisk module, it's working as intended really great

Nope, SwiftKey has it's own sounds for the keyboard
Amazing! Exactly what I am looking for such long time.
Maybe you can have an alternative with Sony Xperia keyboard sound, similar to PS4 sound.
The keyboard sound is different on OOS and AOSP roms, could you make a zip for default sound on AOSP roms?

Later today I'll search for it and update the thread with that too!

I'm not entirely sure that they are different sounds, I'll look forward into this!
Lol really strange how I have randomly come across this. I recently updated to Oreo and decided to change some UI sounds. I downloaded the Pixel sounds of alarms, ringtones, notification and UI sounds. I changed them with root explorer and set the permissions sounds so much better. I also changed the lock sounds as didn't like the stock 1s.

Apparently Xperia doesn't have custom sounds but uses SwiftKey, I'll ask the developers if I can take those sounds

It's so weird that we have to rely on root to change such a small thing like the sounds our keyboards make, maybe in newer releases of Android a developer will think about this

You can change lock sounds. Charging sounds camera picture sounds.
And add more ringtones and notification sounds to system I added the s9 and pixel XL 2 sounds to my phone for something different

Yeah I know, as I said in the thread I wanted to make an app that was able to change all of this but in the end I wasn't able to
I do have the sounds from an Xperia XZ 2 but, as I said, they come from SwiftKey, so I asked the developers the permission to use them but they still have to reply me
Can you add oneplus 5 keyboard sounds?

Thank you sooooooo much! The standard Gboard sounds isn't the best. This is working perfectly with Gboard on my OP6. ??
