I see they have incredible s builds at http://galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/ics-builds/
What would be required in order to get this on the Inc2 as I've heard they are nearly identical hardware?
I'd also like to see what all porting to this device entails.
Although, I've heard that there's not a lot of difference between the GB and ICS builds of MIUI.

As far as I know, the only thing that would need to be changed between an Incredible S and Incredible 2 build would be the radio... BUT, I could be wrong.
Where could you find out??
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
there's no radio in a ROM, just a kernel and the system/boot/data files
Download it and see maybe? My guess would be that you would have to re-zip the file and change scripts or what ever it is that checks the device info.. Most likely if you tried to zip this as it is you would get a status 7 error since the install would be looking for VIVO and not VIVOW ...

Correct, honestly I haven't tried repacking the zip with vivow as I'm on my mac and no bootcamp partition at the moment.

i managed to install and Boot an incredible S (VIVO) Rom Sense 3.5 on my incredible 2 (ViVOW) and it worked Perfect and GSM and APN are Working
i Just replaced Boot.img with compatible ( compatible Rom ) VIVOW Boot.img , and later on i installed VIVOW Kernel to Fix WiFi
When i tried to install updated versions of the same Rom , it did not boot until i replaced libhtc_ril in addition to Boot.img . it Booted and every thing worked Perfect except for GSM and APN
if some one could solve that and PM me , i appreciate that
The BOOT.IMG holds the kernel.

Custom Roms don't include Radio . ( I didn't see one Yet )
to avoid rezip and the error do the following
make two copies of the zip file named 1.zip and 2.zip , and consider 1.zip as your main which will be used later as your modified Rom
open each one in a separate winrar window ( i.e 1.zip and 2.zip )
Drag and drop between those two open winrar windows from 2.zip to 1.zip
if you want to rename a file ( like VIVOW sensor for example ) , rename it inside 2.zip then drag it to 1.zip . Don't rename directly inside 1.zip ( this causes error when trying to install the Rom )
Close winrar window and use the Rom
the Rom would be installed successfully without installation errors
but however you could have boot loops if the replaced files are not accepted by the device
Hope that would help

Forget about official updates if you have rooted device.
Wow, neither of you helped this guy, or even tried.
The only thing I would know to do is to find the original ruu for your carrier, flash that, and see where you stand. I'm pretty sure the updater only checks for firmware versions. NOT su installation. Could be wrong though...

see bro i explained you about the boot.img its only that much now in detail fr system.yaffs2.img (can be told as system.img too)
system.img is the system folder in your rom. when it is extracted it becomes the system folder..
if you go into system folder yyou will see these folders..
Code:
app
bin
customize
etc
fonts
framework
lip
lost+found
media
usr
xbin
and a file named build.prop
app:
Code:
it is a folder where all system apps are there..
you can paste a apk there to make it the system app
(the system apps dont get updates from market mostly
bin:
Code:
it hellps the icons to animate..
like if the animation has 9 images then to move those nine images
(that is to animate those nine images to become one animation)
the commands are given here in bin
(as far as i know i may be wrong about this)
customize:
Code:
all the customisations are here like your boot animation
(the default one not the customized one)
your default wall paper.. etc
etc:
Code:
all the permisions and etc are here
like the permisions of su , the bluetooth paired devices
your wifi passwords and all
fonts :
Code:
no explaination needed
framework:
Code:
it is a folder where all the jar files are located..
the jar files are used for all the work you do ..
like if you assign the MENU key with a Launcher then
tht assigning is saved into a jar
(this is never used with launchers its just an example)
if you wanna change the theme then you can edit
the framework-res.apk in it :D
lib:
Code:
all the lib like sound plugins this plugin that plugin
lost+found:
Code:
i dont know , its allways empty for me :(
donnt know what it is
media:
Code:
here you can paste the bootanimation.zip
of your own choice to have a
customized bootanimation.zip .
usr:
Code:
here all the icons are located ..
the icon of wifi bluetooth keyboard and all
xbin:
Code:
it is just a bin mostly used as a temp folder :D
the build.prop
Code:
its a file that is as like the updater script
but doesnt update nything but shows the information in the rom,
like what is the build of the rom
what version of the sense
what resolution you want
(the default is 120 but it is changable :D)
got things clear?

oh then the warranty wont be affecting you
First off let me say, I am not responsible for any damage this may cause to your phone you are flashing at YOUR OWN RISK.
that being said, this is a cooked ROM of the newest hboot on Virgin Mobile, it includes a kernel that you will need to fast boot flash.
features
deodexed
zip aligned
includes all sense 4 skins from HTC hub.
includes root browser free and go backup.
I may update this ROM if I feel the need, of course it would only be to add widgets and HTC apps from my old wildfire s that can't be found here.
only use if you are stuck on the newest hboot, my sister and I have both tested it and she's been using it for the past month.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I had trouble uploading the complete but I have added a kernel download that should boot any sense backup or rom based on stock. remember to flash at your own risk.
if you wanna report bugs or anything feel free.

demi_fiend.... I'm not sure if this information is worth posting a new thread so I'm posting it here.
I personally am on the updated hboot1.57 and radio .0928.
I have also personally tested all Sense ROMs in the CDMA thread with the OTA hboot and radio.
This is my conclusion.
THEY ALL WORK!!!.
All you have to do is keep the original ( stock ) kernel. DO NOT FASTBOOT FLASH..... Everything works except WiFi.
Here's how to fix that. Make a copy of the WiFi modules in your stock ROM. You can find them in /system/lib/modules.
Save the copy some where on your sdcard. Now pick the SENCE ROM of your liking and flash it in recovery. Boot the ROM and install a root explorer of your choice. Now open the root explorer, find the modules and copy them, carry them to /system/lib/modules and paste. Now refresh the page where you paysted them and set the permissions to rw-r-r- on all 4 the modules that you pasted and reboot.
Now every thing in the SENSE ROM that you flashed should work just like it would on the old radio
Only thing that you can't do is over clock
Because of the stock kernel.
Hopefully this helps the guys/girls now on the OTA updated hboot and radio

Simon posted a kernel in this thread that supports the new hboot+radio and I assume/hope also would support overclocking. The one he posted is for AOSP-based ROMs, but I have updated it per his instructions so that it should work with Sense-based ones. Only thing I am unsure of at the moment is what modules would be needed (stock ones from the RUU or the ones from the old Sick v0.6 file). If I can find that out I can upload a zip that would have the updated kernel and flash the modules in recovery.
I'm sure you would need modules from the OTA stock ROM . Not the ones from the older radio.
There is no RUU for the OTA hboot/radio.
I have the modules if you would like a copy

Yeah I just noticed I missed the "patch" folder when checking for updates to them in the FOTA zip file :silly:
Well here's the updated boot.img if you wanna give it a shot. It is currently untested so I would highly recommend having a backup of a known working one on standby.
EDIT: Removed as WiFi isn't working.

Well that sucks. Now I wonder if there's a difference in the RAMDISK used? I used the one from boot.img in the FOTA with the new hboot, but I wonder if I use the one from Simon's v0.6 it would yield a different result.

Ok got a new attempt. I am not sure if all 4 of the module files are needed or just the 1 that I have. I included the module inside the kernel ramdisk so you might (hopefully) not need to copy the modules. However, in case you do, I have the module attached in a flashable zip. Let me know your results and if you had to copy any (or all) of the modules.
Got them........ Will test today....there is a big difference in size. The stock OTA boot img is 4.0mb and the one downloaded is 2.9mb..... Don't know if it makes a difference. But I will try once I get to a computer @ work

Well I managed to get it to show Boot animation, I edited the build.prop.
I still can't get a logcat, I tried to make an init.d script to logcat a file to the sdcard, but that didn't want to work.

As the title say, follow this guide to deodex your stock or stock based(Sling,VDT etc) roms.
In case you dont know what is odex and deodex, check out this awesome thread,,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224570
Before doing any thing Always Make Nandroid Backup
Things Needed
Java(https://www.java.com/en/download/)
Rooted Device
Usb debugging enabled(for pulling files)
Downloads
http://d-h.st/pCI#.U4cLVPmSwgM (based on Kamome tool)
Guide
extract the downloaded tool
run main.bat(be sure to run as admin)
select option 1 create working folder (if this give you subdirectory already then created continue anyway)
Now Select option 2( phone should be connected to pc with usb debugging enabled and phone should also be on charge only mode)
Select option 3 (this should take some time to deodex files)
this step is optional Use option 4 to add deodexed files to zip and flash them via recovery or you can push via adb(search google)
To flash from recovery
copy zip file( you created before ) in the phone
go to recovery
flash them and reboot
enjoy!

May be you are doing something wrong, have you installed proper adb drivers and java. This method works perfect with stock or any custom firmware(I deodexed, 30b, 30c and sling rom) . I have also deodexed htc m8 stock rom with this...
Bro, connection is super sh... ty cant share deodexed rom...
Yes I've installed Java and Adb drivers , Adb is recognising my device . Apparently doing everything as per guide but don't know why it's not doing

Now, that is weird... Usually, it's the other way around, running into problems when NOT launched as Admin. Go figure... Anyway, thanks for the tip! Something to keep in mind...

That's because the framework is different. Changing lg framework may help you to get sms app working, but it may make other apps to FC

Agree that tool won't pull files (step 2) on Windows 8.1 x64 unless it is run NOT in Administrator mode.
I suggest you update the first post.
Cheers
I am facing problem In Option 2:
I am on sling 2.2
When i press option 2, the cmd shows " The system can't find the patch specified"...
What can i do? Please suggest.
thanks in advance

Dear Ahmed vai,
Thanks for the response. My phone is working well with Sling Rom as there are options of Selecting 2g/3G. Whn i select 2g only, the phone;s network signal is good and if i select 3g then the network bar up and downs severly...and no one reach me / i cant call to others. So, I am always select 2g. No way to find out the solution and In sling My front camera is not working.
Hope you are in Good Health. Take care Brother.
Regards,

this is based on f180 ROM and f180 doesn't have FM Radio.
Thanks akahroba...for the information. Do you please suggest any custom rom for my device that support FM radio?
Thanks

Well, sling is not a custom ROM. It's actually a cooked firmware. If you're searching for such a cooked firmware based on stock kk for E975, nothing so far.
FM radio doesn't work on F 180 @clickanu

SUCCESS! Nyandroid boot is going!
Replace the file in the zip with the one from the link
For slightly more clear instructions, open the .zip with your decompression software of choice.
Go to 'system\lib\'
Replace libposteffect.so with

Now flash, and watch rainbows through space

Until the OP updates his post I'm hosting the fixed ROM Get Mimicry 1.5.0 vivow fixed right here
So for any of you who don't want to try all the unzipping and rezipping, this is for you
PLEASE NOTE!!
You'll also need GAPPS as it's not included. Aero's v13 Kernel is optional

okay I will.
meanwhile I installed the normal mimicry and not the ported one (mimicry vivow) and that one is working.
I think we do not need to fix ma problem anymore, as it might take too much time just for this.
case closed with the result ROM Port Andromadus Mimicry 1.5.0 (mimicry vivow) is not working anymore.
An OP might inform the creator to either fix or mark that ROM as broken?
