[Q] Is there really no 3-way silent / vibrate / vibrate + sound toggle? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I've driven myself nuts looking for this, and I can't seem to find it at all. My last phone, the lowly Eris, had several different levels of sound toggle, and from what I can tell, this phone only has two you can use at any one time.
You can set it to:
Silent / Sound
Silent / Sound + Vibrate
Vibrate / Sound
Vibrate / Sound + Vibrate
But there's no third (or fourth) toggle that combines the above modes. The worst part about this is you must go deep into the settings to specifically change 'vibrate' to something else. Do one or more ROMs fix this? Because that's ridiculous. Every phone I've had, all the way back to the dumb-phones in the late 90's, had some kind of "silent -> vibrate -> sound -> sound + vibrate" gradual progression.
Or is there an app or widget that fixes this oversight?

I use an app called "simple sound" its free and from the market and works great for sound profiles. You should try it out

Controlling all sounds wit volume rocker buttons

I've noticed that when using a program like handsent sms that the sounds are not part of the ringer.. they are under notifications.. so for instance if I lower my volume wit my rocker buttons to lowest setting but still on ring. And recieve a txt thru handsent the ring will be still loud to what ever the notification ring is set to.. my question is a tweak or something that allows the rocker buttons to control all sound ? Not just ranger volume?

wrong section ...
... but
if you go under settings, sounds, volume you can make the ringtone and notifications move in sync with each other.
There is also an app called audiomanager (free and paid versions) that lets you manage all 6 sound profiles separately. They are:
Alarm
Music
Alerts
Ringer
System
Voice call
and comes with a handy widget. Does not change the functionality of the volume rocker however.

[Q] volume shortcuts G2 / Android 2.2

Hi there,
Not sure if this is the best place to post this or not because it potentially applies to other devices running froyo but I'll start here since I have a G2.
I was curious if there was a way to get a direct shortcut to the volume control sliders (Menu -> Settings -> Sound -> Volume). There doesn't seem to be one by default (only one to get to Sound settings). There seems to be apps that can do this but I wanted to see if it could be done possibly through an Any Cut shortcut, but I do not know how to go about finding out which parameters to use (i.e. Action/intent) to launch the default volume control (using Any Cut's "make your own" option because there doesn't seem to be one listed under Activity by default).
Also, there seems to be a minor "bug" with getting to the volume control from the Sound settings menu when the phone is in Vibrate or Silent mode. Both of these modes check the "Silent mode" box in Sound settings, but when that box is checked, the "Volume" selection which launches the volume control is disabled. So, in order to launch the volume control you need to first take your phone out of Silent mode to change say the media volume level. If this is indeed a bug, albeit a minor one, how would I go about submitting this to the proper people?
Sorry for the long post...thanks very much.

[Q] CM7 RC4 Problem

I've had this happen on RC2 as well...
After I've put the volume all the way down (vibrate only mode) and then turned the volume back up, none of my notification sounds will play. When I get sms/email the vibrate will go off but not the tone. I've checked Handcent and GMail settings and they both have a tone selected. However, once I get a txt/email, only vibrate no sound. My call ringtones, volume up/down, apps, music..etc works, but no notification.
Anyone help?
Grab Audio Guru from the market. It lists out all the system sound modes and lets you control all six of them individually. I had this happen once and found one of my sound controls set to zero. Used the slider in Audio Guru to increase it to max, problem solved.

Sound/Vibrate profile App?

I'm looking for an app to change the sound profiles that works with ICS and the GN from Sprint. I previously used "Profile" by noimjosh but that doesn't seem to toggle the vibrate mode anymore. In fact none of the sound/vibrate apps seem to toggle my vibrate mode anymore. Just wondering if anybody can recommend something that has a multi widget to select vibrate etc? I know I can hold the power button and toggle vibrate etc, but i was looking for something more customizeable, IE vibrate, quiet, silent, loud, etc,
I can't seem to find anything that will actually toggle the vibrate on 4.0.4 so any help would be appreciated.

Sound and Vibrate?

There are very little sound options provided with the UI. I'd like to have a sound, sound and vibrate, vibrate , and a silent mode but it seems sound and vibrate are not possible. The only option I see is the vibrate when ringing option but that's only for phone calls, I want vibration for all notifications.
I'd like to avoid using an app to do this as most phone manufacturers provide this functionality out of the box but if need be, any suggestions? Preferably not an app that has endless options and complexities and preferably doesn't look like android version 1.
thanks!
