[Q] Galaxy Nexus Keyboard - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm amazed no one has asked this.
Does anyone know what kind of onscreen keyboard will come with the Nexus? I used a T-Mobile G2 for the past year, and a Nexus One before that, so I'm not sure what keyboard flavor the Samsungs get. Any clue on Swype?
Thanks guys!

It comes preloaded with only the stock Android 4.0 keyboard. I love it though. You can always download the Swype betas and any other keyboards though.

Droid X/2 multitouch keyboard for G2

Hey, I used the Droid X/2 multitouch keyboard on the Vibrant before I got the G2 and I really liked it, so I tried installing/flashing multiple versions and the only one I got to work had really small letters on the keys, which was also an issue on the Vibrant. So I was wondering if anybody has a version with normal sized lettering, thank you.

Coming From A Nexus S 4G

Been doing the whole custom ROM thing for a while now, but each device is always a little different. I started with an Epic 4G, then had a Nexus S 4G until recently and now have a Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) and was wondering if anyone had any tips to help me hit the ground running?
For instance it looks like I have to use ROM's that are specific to Verison, which makes sense. But are there any Verizon-specific issue I should be aware of?
Or any tools that will help my custom ROM tasks?
Thanx in advance!!!

First of all, it is not the final release of the new keyboard. That being said it's tons smoother than swype(may be a placebo effect.) When you are using gestures the huge word that pops up on the screen looks kind of gimmicky compared to the videos I've seen. I like it.
Seems like an improvement on swype in terms of accuracy for me. It'll be interesting to see how swift key flow compares when it's released.

The links on the site have been taken down unsurprisingly. Google, as with most tech companies, do not like showing off beta software that may be glitchy and reflect poorly on them. Whatever, I can wait a while longer.

trying it, doesn't seem to be able to correct previous words typed... unlike Swype. I usually swyped a sentence and then correct any mistyped words.

I would have to agree. Nice thing about Swype is that you can type out a sentence then go back and simply touch the words that are incorrect and get possible alternatives to pop up. It's the only real thing separating them in my opinion.

Re
How to people make this?
I wonder if the final version of the keyboard beats out Swiftkey 3 application.
I really love this keyboard but the prediction is not there yet with Swype
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
I like how the word hover above on this beta Android keyboard input. Soon the competition Android keyboard inputs will be Swype, Android, and Swiftkey flow.
I honestly like Swype so much better. I know this is just an early release and that might be why but the word above where I am swiping was just getting in the way. Maybe it also has something to do with the fact that I have been using swype for quite a while and it knows my typing really well.
We will see what happens when I am able to use a final release.

Not quite, but it more than makes up for it by being so much smoother. Running it on an SGS4G, 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM, skype nearly locks up the damn phone, but this keyboard is buttery on it. Not that this will make a difference on the N4, maybe not on any phone newer than mine lol, but hopefully they'll work out the algorithms by the release.

[Q] Stock Android + S-pen ROM for Gnote 3?

I may be way out of line here and if so I apologize - however coming from the Galaxy Nexus to the Galaxy Note 3 I'm mostly pretty happy except with certain aspects of Samsungs software stupidity that I can't seem to get rid of. I've been using the GEL and its amazing but I want to get back to "stock android" as much as possible. This means getting rid of the assnine Gingerbread-era settings menus, dialers, people app and other apps that look like they were plucked from my Droid X from 3 years ago.
Am I being unreasonable when I look at the available ROM's on the T-mo section and see that there aren't any kitkat ROMs available yet? Is there a development hurdle for the Galaxy devices that makes it impossible to make a AOSP-based ROM? (As if it needs to be said, I'm not a developer).
I love the hardware and the S-pen functionality (why I bought it), but I need to rid myself of the 90's era UI that samsung has foisted on us. Am I missing a ROM out there that can fulfill my needs?
I don't think there is anything aosp that can offer what tw had to offer when it comes to s pen functionality.
I had the note 2 before this and was running paranoid ROM which didn't have the cool s pen features.
What I've used the most is the pen window feature. Taking a quick note or using the calc has been handy.

We all feel your pain brother.
I have owned 3 Samsung Galaxy devices before this one and all have had AOSP/AOKP/CM10.2
For some reason or another, a developer not made a bare bone AOSP rom.
Which we all want.
Believe me when I say, we all know touchwiz is getting annoying.
My current setup is Stock Deodexed Debloated with the AOSP theme found in the "Themes and Apps" section, also with the Kit Kat Launcher.
I downloaded all of the Nexus 5 apps (Calendar, Camera, Gallery, Clock, etc. And deleted the Touchwiz ones.
This is as close as we can get for now .

Someone can port Galaxy S4 Keyboard to G3 (D855)?

Someone can port Galaxy S4 Keyboard to G3 (D855)?
No - you didn't even say please
Please......
What's so cool about it? Samsung Keyboards seem rather "dull" in my opinion. The G3 keyboard has some "advanced" features, though I still prefer SwiftKey for the predictions in my own language.
I used to use s4 before i came to lg g3. I absolutely find lg g3 keyboard is lot better in terms of its functionality..
If i was adeveloper, I would not waste my time porting s4 keyboard when lg g3 keyboard is way better. I rather would port g3 keyboard to s4 users if they want ...
The problem in g3 keyboard is the buttons, the buttons hes very crowded and because of that people taping worng.
The. Buttons on keyboard on s4 and s5 is more spacey .

You guys are pretty much the reason this entire subforum is a shthole. Anyway, if you don't like anything about the OP report the post. This post should be in the Q&A so I already reported it.
Why not port the Note 4 keyboard or the Galaxy S5 for that matter?
I was a bit sarcastic and I am taking the fall for that that; however in all seriousness I don't think that particular keyboard - or any OEM keyboard for the matter - has some things worth porting (and we all know how Samsung requires various touchwiz frameworks present for their stuff to work). I would assume that requesting a port for a keyboard in this age where the play store is packed with keyboards which OEMs license and put on these phones as the "new innovation of the year" it's rather a moot point.
In the spirit of a forum and a discussion I would recommend SwiftKey which is free and should surpass in predictions the OEMs keyboards - I might be biased here but I tried / bought SwiftKey, Swype, TouchPal, SmartKeyboard and gave Minuum and Fleksy a chance. and my experience and recommendation was and still is the best with SwiftKey.
so no one can do it?
and yes samsung galaxy s4 more fun to use
