I really wouldn't have used the word "built" or "build" in OP...
It will be a while before there is a Stable CM9. It will be even longer for the E4GT since their isn't a CM7 for it, that means no drivers pre built so they are virtually starting from scratch.
Im hoping it won't be too long, I miss CM7 from my Evo4G and Incredible.

does anyone know if they are stopping the nightlies and working on cm7? there haven't been any new ones for any model since the 17th
That's why they have stopped them. Cyanogen said that they are all working hard on Gingerbread, so it's only logical that they would stop all work on Froyo
do you think there's any more froyese to be made or is that a moot point as everything is just dumped into gingerbread? Especially now that drivers are completely different with gb?
Also I reckon once the full base is laid people will bring GB features back into froyo for the dream and other smaller devices. Or a mosh.

I'm sure most devs there will still be small updates being made to the current ROMs already out, like Enom for example. He usually releases stock ROMs with some modifications or themes, for the most part. I don't see him releasing a GB rom until the official rolls out.
Keep in mind Sense ROMs don't even factor into this. They are two different things.
Cyanogen on the other hand, won't make another update to CM6, at least for the G2 IMO. He always pushes to have the greatest and latest on our phones, hence his push for GB.
As to you mentioning people porting over features to Froyo, that may very well be true, but for the most part, I don't think much of that will happen. The Android reps from Google said that any phone that officially runs Froyo now, will run better on GB. I can only deduce that phones will run better running 2.3.
Now, while the G1 did not see a 2.2 update due to hardware requirements, the MT3G did see an official release, which is for the most part a G1 with more internal memory and lacks a keyboard. I hope that this will bring a great improvement to the device speed, and knowing Cyanogen, he will for sure bring it over to the G1.
Just my 2 cents.

I somewhat disagree with your point about CM6. Although all the devs are working very hard to bring GB to the G2, I don't believe Cyanogen or anyone else has said that there won't be another CM6 update. That doesn't mean they will but, imho, I think there may be at least one more update to CM6 for the G2. At least I hope so!
I do believe in the possibility of another experimental update coming to other devices maybe, but Cyanogen said himself on twitter to AndroidSpin that there will be no further stable releases for CM6 due to Gingerbread's release.
That's not to say that others of TeamDouche who manage other devices won't keep CM6 alive for a little while longer, at least.
Hey just came from a MyTouch 4G and wondering what is the best ROM for the G2? I don't want to just flash anything so any help would be appreciated .
CM is the best around
Flash a CM7 nightly, pretty stable to use as a daily driver, and it's full of gingerbread goodness The stable RC1 should drop in a few days if your a bit squirmish about nightlies.
Also, there's the stable froyo CM6.1.1 which works perfectly
Can you explain this to me more deeply and possibly point me in the right direction . I'm new to the G2 not to mention the Android scene lol.
Go to the Android Development forum, poke around in the root threads, and poke around in the stickies. Do your homework and use the search field. Nearly 100% of the questions you will have, have already been answered.
CyanogenMod ("CM") is the most popular ROM probably, and is available on all major android devices.
CM6.1.1 is stable and is based on 2.2 Froyo.
CM7 is based on 2.3, and is in "nightly" versions right now, but should be stable soon, as the other poster mentioned.

There is entirely too much info available... I want a stable sense gingerbread rom for my incredible. A working camera is a must. Does such a beast exist? Links would be great. Thanks.

Such a beast does not exist YET. So far we've got a half working port of Incredible S which I believe is 2.3. I would really like to see it perfected. Until then the best sense ROM would be a Desire Z port, those are frigging fast.
EDIT: The Inc. S isn't GB, the Huashen or w/e is GB.

Though I do not have links handy, I will also put this information out there for you. At this time, there are 3 main gingerbread ROMs for Incredible, Cyanogenmod 7 (RC1 is out as well as nightlies), Evervolv (very slow updates), and OMFGB (kicked off this site). Currently, Cyanogenmod is the most stable and for me, the fastest. One thing the camera is missing though is 720p. This will likely be the case until we have a sense gingerbread build like you are talking about. The mentioned Incredible S port is still 2.2 based but has the new 2.5 senseui. The only gingerbread sense build out period right now is the one leaked for the Huashan (spelling?) but that has yet to be ported to Incredible yet.
Both CM7 and OMFGB have "working" cameras, but maybe not to the extent that you would want them.. it's still a work in progress.
I suggest going with chingys incrediblely re -engineered Rom.. very stable very fast with lous kernels

Since CM7 and MIUI are both AOSP based ROMs, and CM7 is fairly close to fully working, does that mean that MIUI would also benefit from the same efforts that got CM7 to where it is right now?
Does the release of the gingerbread source code help with this at all? Is it a lack of drivers that holds MIUI back?
Can someone please clarify whether or not I might be able to actually use MIUI on my Epic in the near future, and have everything work, or is it a pipe dream?
i too would love it, i had it on my evo and was super fast and amazing only downside i saw was lack of 4g but i don't really use it much anyway so not so much of a bother for me...
I believe that it will progress along with cm7.
Cd's or tapes?
I'm an E4GT newbie coming from the Epic. Since it seems that CM development isn't as far along as it was on the Epic (not surprising given it has been out much longer) I'm looking for a clean ROM that I can run until there is a more fully functional ICS ROM.
Before I made the jump to CM9 on the Epic I was happily running toadlife's CleanGB. Is there a similar ROM for my new E4GT? I'm currently on pre-rooted EL29 with Rogue recovery.
I look forward to your responses.
I'd go with Calkulins GB for good stripped and quick one, his is the basis for most here(so that should say something!), Blazer ROM is the best I've ever used as far as speed, battery life and funtions, or just about any from the long term teams. This is a real hard one to answer. The devs in this section are just flippin great. Since you have a great CWM (Rogue) why not try a few. I've got nandroids of several ROMs on my PC. I usually run a ROM for a week before passing judgement to let it 'settle in'. And with a good full image I can switch between them. But I've pretty much settled on my current setup as my daily driver untill the ICS builds are finalized. Calkulins also got a great script for creating/stripping ROMs bare http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535776. Welcome to the touch experience (just don't use touch recovery - you'll brick something!! stick with Rogue Gunslinger.). Hope you find the enjoyment I've had.
