I did it, but is HTC going to see this? I'm not quite sure HTC will go looking around for some petition against locking the bootloader.

Yeah, I wonder if HTC has an e-mail earding source code& bootloader questions? For example, when I had i5800, we cooperated with forum members and e-mailed to Samsung to upload their source codes, and it was sucess. Maybe we should all write an e-mail to HTC? They would certainly see that.

I think I double signed it LOL

I find it very sad that a company will let others (XTC-Clip creators) profit off something that shouldn't be locked in the first place. Why not put them out of business and make your customers happy.. we own the damn phones anyway!?!?
I can tell you that this will definitely be my last HTC phone, I will never support that company again.

How many signs do you all think we need? Btw ill post links to there social sites in the op soon for ease of access

An easier way if you already have CM7.1 installed is just use "dump_image boot /sdcard/boot.img" in adb shell. But the dumps are kinda pointless anyways.
And the win32 version of fastboot doesn't have "oem" as an option, you can't use it.. maybe the linux or other compiled versions do.

Big thanks to eoghan2t7!

Hi everyone!
I just want to give Eoghan Cunningham a.k.a eoghan2t7 a incredible thanks for his contribution to the HTC Wildfire S section of XDA-Developers. He is a role model. He shows that you can still take interest in a device even if you don't have the device. I wish that he taught me all he knows about Android so I can stop being such a idiot newbie and an annoying spammer & troll!!!
We wouldn't be as close as we are to getting S-OFF if it wasn't for him!
What would we do without him?!?!
I hope that all readers of this thanks him to!
GO EOGHAN!!!!!!
Yes thanks to him and many other people that have tried to unlock this phone. Unfortunately I won't be here when it does get cracked due to my new phone which will arrive in the coming days.

I need a volunteer who can give me adb and/or fastboot access via teamviewer or ssh access to a One V for maybe 30 minutes to examine S-OFF posibilities.

S-Off

I'm a little bit confused about S-Off. If I were to have S-Off would I not have to flash boot.img? What are the advantages of having S-Off?
Thank you

You would not have to flash boot.img and also could give yourself supercid so you can flash any ruu. There is a lot more it allows you to do but that is all the general user would use it for

There are hardware and software ways, currently no way to get it altogether without the HTC DIAGS, javacard, and Y-cable. Basically no way for us end users.

how close is S-OFF
I'm considering going for HTCDev, until S-OFF comes, but I've read somewhere that the HOX should receive S-OFF pretty soon.
I hate these kind of words "pretty soon, normal, common... " its seems bla-bla to me.
so in your opinion, how close is S-OFF?

[Q] Does anyone understand Chinese here? This is about HTC ONE X

I need someone that speaks Chinese and has basic knowledge of Flashing roms, this is very important and might be a break-though for the HTC ONE X.
Please let me know by PM, thanks.
P.S. This might seem irrelevant, but it really is, and if there is success, what I am doing will donate greatly to the HTC ONE X society.

Hey Mr Hofs, if you remember, I had an issue with a messed up HTC ONE X a while ago, that HTC ONE X was S-OFFed for sure. I found out that they use a "GoldCard" and "HOX Files" so S-OFF devices, but this method is what a guy that does S-OFF gave me, he doesn't really cooperate with me, just gave me the link. The physical "GoldCard" is very expensive, costs almost like a new HOX, but I do wonder if this method should work.

This is for the Galaxy S4 or something, and it mentions HTC ONE S too.. dunno
---------
My question is (to the Chinese understanders) what are the exact instructions, I edit the TXT file that they mention, but do they say that I can change the Main-Version to whatever I want, and the CID to whatever I want??? or something else?
P.S., if you look on the last reply page on that Thread, you can see it is quite active, i see posts from "3 hours ago" saying "thanks" and what not. But you need to reply in order to download the file so it's not really an indication of this method working. :-\

Like I said, the two HOXs came with an Australian CID OPTUS001. And a Version-Main: 4.29, which does not exist in the OPTUS001 CID RUUs, which means I couldn't use RUU to get back to stock in order to update later to JB.
I went through it with Waseem on this forum and we found out that the phones were definately S-OFFed. God knows why the heck someone did this, but Chinese have an S-OFF technology.
I coule buy the Goldcard for S-OFF, but it costs like 400$... So I am trying to find a cheaper way in their forums.

Yeah and I am sure people that are much more talented than me in development are working on it. But the Chinese have a way of hiding stuff from the world, and they might've done something that works.
