[Q] trouble downloading destroyer - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

every I try to download destroyer my browser hangs and then I get a message that states that I am not connected to the internet. I check my connection and it is ok. I can download any other page. I have done this for about 4 weeks on a few different build. I really would like to download this build but cannot. are there any other mirror download links? does anyone else have this problem. I have tried this download on many differeent computers. any ideas?

btw I download many roms every night

I heard that the dev pulled the Rom because he moved onto the evo3d
You might not be able to try it unless someone has a mirror for you..which is unlikely but I'm sure someone does

but there was a release on 10/28
also when I try to download savagegen from the same api.viglink domain I get the same problem

Does anyone else have a copy of the rom and can post it to be downloaded. i would greatly appreciate it

AutoRoot_v2.3.zip Download?

Hi guys, I have not been on this forum since I was rooting my Hero last year. Anyway, I decided to try to root my EVO and found the auto root method. But when I try to download the zip file I get an error message. I tried to download it from all 5 links from this page http://www.multiupload.com/9S4BOSZITN
Which was from this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838448
So can someone give me a link that works or something?
I posted a similar question in the "HTC EVO - Universal Auto Root" thred. I would be lying if I said i wasn't a bit impatient and frustrated. It has taken me 5 hours of trying to download this file from all 5 different links. So sorry for the multiple posts.
P.S. the error message I am getting is :
AutoRoot_v2.3.zip.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
Try again later, or contact the server administrator.
Do you by any chance trying to download this on your work computer possibly controlled by active directory ?
Nope, home computer. Never had any problems downloading anything before. As a matter of fact, I had downloaded the "RUU to restore 3.70.651.1 " from the same thred without a hitch.
Thanks for the reply
This usually happens on computers with restrictions or when trying to save file at bad media (some drives etc). Have no idea about 3rd option at this point
Edit: You can try again using different browser....
Well, that sucks! I'm just confused as to why I was able to download every other file I needed except that one.....
Grrrr.
Shoot me a PM with your email and I can send it to you if you want
I tried PM'ing twice.....not sure if you got them, but sent items = 0
Having issues trying to email. Might have to keep trying the mirrors.

Roms n themes downloaded straight to phone doesn't work

Thought I'd throw this question out there because it's driving me nuts.
twice now when I download Culk's ROM straight from the epic and flash the ROM I'm forever stuck at the yellow triangle screen.
Same thing if I download a theme from the phone.
Kind of driving me nuts because I've never had this problem on my Evo.
Anyone have any ideas?
Also let me get the obvious out of the way, I use reformat all and clear all caches before flashing anything.
If I download the same zip files onto a computer first then transfer, I have no issues

Did you install a file manager ?
Download Astro and click the box to allow internet downloads when downloading files.

After downloading, always check the MD5 of the file to see if it matches what the dev posted for it (if it was posted).
I generally don't have an issue with currupted downloads. It either downloads good or it fails to download (some file sharing sites just won't work from the phone).
However, not long ago, i downloaded a ROM (strong steves actually) and it said successful. After flashing, I was stuck at logo and had to use odin to get back to where I was. I checked the MD5 of what I downloaded and it was indeed wrong. Downloaded it again, via the phone, checked the MD5 (correct this time) and flashed fine.
So weather you download on phone or pc, it's ALWAYS a good idea to check the md5. If the dev doesn't post the MD5, then download it, rename it and download it again and compare the two. That's much easier than having to go back to odin to fix a problem caused by a currupted download.
I have never had good luck trying to download themes or roms from the phone. They always come out corrupt. Best way is to download it from the computer and transfer it via usb cable never wireless. That has also caused me allot of problems.
Trucking, yes. Sometimes you get lucky and the download on the phone isn't corrupted. Don't know how bad it is or if it's easily fixable. I had to start all over again, many times, with Odin flash.

Possible Return to stock via ODIN??

Ok, so I attempted to download a couple of roms from this site, used Odin to install TWRP recovery. Problem is every rom I attempt to download is hosted from an incredibly slow site, so it takes 3 hours to download a single rom. I would like to return to stock, BONE STOCK. I remember with my Sprint Epic 4G I was able to download a tar/pit file that had the original modem and rom in 2 files: a PIT file, and a TAR File. Using Odin to flash this would return my phone to factory/bone stock configuration getting rid of all recovery/root/ect. I would like to know if there is such a file for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S-2.
Anyone know?
My phone has been useless for the last 9 hours and every rom ive downloaded has not worked at all. (No Signal, No gapps, Not booting/black screen hang, ect)
I know I can download a similar app from HTC that will restore an HTC phone to stock settings, what about Samsung?
Also, does anyone know where I can download the latest ClockworkMod RECOVERY from so I can try to flash roms with that? I was thinking this TWRP recovery is the issue.
Thanks!
Have you read the stickies?
[HOWTO] ROOT, Install ClockworkMod Touch Recovery & get into Download Mode for newbie. It also has instructions for using Odin to get back to stock.
For the latest CWM...have you searched in the dev thread? Used Google/Bing?

I have read the stickies, in particular the one you attached. I also searched google (and bing, its still default on this pc) for the latest version of CWR, links I found are dead. Still didnt see anything in regards to what I asked specifically. Is there a way to restore, VIA ODIN, a STOCK ROM (PIT and TAR Files) similar to what was available with the older samsung Galaxy? I just downloaded the Jedi ROM and it actually booted with a signal, so Im giving it the "10 minutes" before I touch it. (Bummer everyone uses this wierd Dev Hosting site to host the files, download speeds of 37KB/sec are crazy slow with a 400+MB File).
I Thought about using Kies to restore to stock, not sure if thats even possible with a phone that has no rom installed since Ive never used Kies before. Guess I'll find out how well this rom works.

Im not trying to be a **** but you couldnt have searched. If you followed the link for an Odin file in the page I linked earlier, it would have led you to THIS page which has a working download link for stock Odin (Gingerbread).
If you would have Googled exactly what you want, the 2nd result would give you the ICS download.
And Google also returns the main page for CWM
Hope that helps.

I dont think your trying to be a **** at all so its all good, id tell anyone the same thing, I did do several searches searches, but sifting through 900+ pages in one of hundreds of threads is a little daunting...
Also the link I believe your referring to (http://www.technoxide.com/2012/11/galaxy-s2-jelly-bean-4.1.2-I9100XXLSJ-update.html) <<No 2 in google results for a Samsung i9100 SGS2, I downloaded that one, installed it, had a black screen after the samsung logo and the phone started getting very hot after I let it sit for 15 mins or so. Tried rebooting several times, same thing.. The model number for mine is a SGH-T989, are they the same? I tried that link and followed its instructions anyways, and like I said, no go...
Thanks tho man I do appreciate it, all is well with the Jedi Rom, seems to be working awesome without the bloat.. (Just took 3.5 hrs to download from that janky hosting site its on.)

Erm...the 2nd result was THIS thread, and partway down the page is THIS link listed as "T-Mobile SGH-T989_UVLI4 (Stock Odin ROM)" on the page.
Glad Jedi is working for you.
edit: oh. You dont have a T989 looks like you have an I9100? Might poke around the I9100 forum to find your Odin image.

[Q] Unable to update OTA

I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with the 4.0-BETA4-20140128 ROM and 4.4.2-20140105 GApps couple of months back. Now the Paranoid interface shows me an outdated prompt and presents a list of stable and BETA ROMs. I tried downloading 4.2-BETA3 and it starts the downloading process. But in next few minutes it either shows a download termination or shows a download complete with a checksum error.
Since, I use a reliable broadband connection which does not break in between downloads, I am unsure of what could be the reason.
Do I need to follow a sequence of setup procedure before I can start downloading the ROM? I do not wish to wipe clean my rooted S2 for installing the ROM from scratch.
Please let me know if I am missing something. The BETA ROM has started giving me issues now.
Thanks.
Just download manually. Your device is not supported by the paranoid android team but by the legacy team. Files are hosted on goo and shared box hosting

You just quoted my post. You had to have seen my solution....
We don't take care of legacy devices. I am responsible for http://paranoidandroid.co. that's the only place I can accept bug reports on.
