i installed the newest version of 'flash player' and it put an app named "flash player settings". it uses a html browser to open it. ive fill it out and no longer want it in ny app drawer, how do i remove it?
Depending on what ROM/launcher you're running you may or may not be able to remove it.
If you are using an aftermarket launcher such as Launcher Pro, GO Launcher or ADW, you should be able to go into settings and hide certain apps from the app drawer. If you are using a Sense ROM or the stock android launcher then you won't be able to remove the icon without removing the app.
If it really bothers you and you aren't using a custom launcher, you could always downgrade to an earlier flash version that didnt automatically install the settings app.

Is there a app available that sorts the apps in the app drawer alphabetical? Launcher pro does this but I want to use touchwiz launcher.

BUMP
I need to do the same, I used ADW for a while because I preferred the drawer sorting. Touchwiz lets you manually move icons around, but when you've got a lot of apps it's a royal pain.
I switched to launcher pro yesterday and this app sorts your icons in the app viewer alphabetically.

You can always switch to "list view".....not quite esthetically as pleasing but sorted alphabetically....
Although it takes longer but it is much more customizable ~ from the Apps list, select Edit then click hold a shortcut and drag it to whichever page you want.
Eventually you end up with the Apps list not only alphabetical but in any order you wish.
I've grouped mine together relevant to their tasks.
i.e. All GPS, Games, Graphics, Utils, Programs, etc. etc.
"appzorter" downloadable from the market for free works fine to sort the apps alphabetically in the app drawer on touchwiz UI
Take a look at folder organizer, its wicked, you can create your own desktop folders and place whatever apps you want inside, can chose how apps are sorted, default is alpha'

Hi!
Friends, I'm new to the forum and am looking for some ROM that has the option to hide icons, music, files, etc.
Smartphone see more and more as a personal computer, but always have a friend from work, personal friend, a family that wants to move out of curiosity on the smartphone. So look for ROMs that have the option to hide apps, photos, videos, music, files, or all that this smartphone. Example: You want to hide the game Angrybirds for a child to not see him and be done with the device's battery. The ROM would choose to hide the icon so it does not appear in the list of applications and only be accessed through an explorer.
Has anyone thought about it?
Does anyone know of a ROM that has this option?
Thanks,
Roka
Try look for an app on the market. I am sure there is something out there. I don't think (like 99% sure) that a rom doesn't include this. Have a look for an app.
Normally in cyanogenMOD there is an option to hide apps in the app drawer that you don't use often. They are not deleted but are hidden when you simply press app drawer, although they are only one click away from be seen.
CyanogenMod uses ADWLauncher not the default launcher by Google.
download adw launcher from the market. or flash cyanogen mod which comes with adw installed. open your app drawer and click menu. it will say create new catalog. create 1 then choose which apps u want in your hidden catalog
Some apps, like filemanager.apk or videoplayer.apk, are not shown in the app drawer ,is there a way to launch them?
Which launcher are you using?
If they show up under application manager, sometimes you can link them to a shortcut using "Bettercut".
I don't use a launcher and I can't link them with bettercut
Well this is more of a work-around but how about installing an alternative file manager like Adao File Manager? That one should definitely show up in the app drawer
Wouldn't know of a video player, though.
That was my point, NOT to install more apps when there are already installed
Android being Linux can I start an app from terminal? What is the command?
Hey everyone. Im running the newest bulletproof miui and i downloaded alt drawer since miui doesnt have an app drawer. I hid almost all my apps so their only accessible through alt drawer but i cant seem to hide things like calculator, spare parts voice dialer, etc. I have to keep them in a folder to try to clean up the homescreen. Is their any way to hide these as access control doesnt seem to give me the option? i dont want to install a 3rd party launcher as i try to keep things minimal and fast. Help?

Click to collapse
I really don't think that an app drawer application is necessary, since you can just create a miui folder, name it "app drawer" and pull it to the main-bar at the bottom. You even can sort it by name or usage - It will behave just like sense's (2.0) app drawer.
Well, system apps can't be removed in miui - unless you change the launcher, I think.
The icon for android's Files app (the one with white folder on blue background icon) disappeared after the April update. The app is still installed on my phone, but it's not in the app drawer?
Is anyone else having the same problem? And how can I fix this?
There's 2 "Files" apps.
1 becomes "Files Go" or "Google Files" and has the cleanup stuff.
The other isn't really a file manager but a file picker (used by other apps). The name is com.android.documentsui.
The second one no longer has an icon. I'm not sure it ever should have had an icon.
If you've got a custom launcher or a widget thing, you can create a launcher for the FilesActivity of the Files app. It won't be in the app drawer though.
The files app you're talking about is still built-in to the system, weird thing is you can only open it by installing a 3rd party launcher. When you install another launcher it's in the app drawer, but stock launcher (I have no idea why) hides it and makes you use the Files Go app.
I just got Nova launcher and still can't access the app. Weird..
