Does any one know of a kernel for the G2 that has the deep idle settings? Such as the kernel used for the Nexus S.
I am using Virtuous G-lite 1.03 ROM on my G2, and they are using some fancy undervolting/underclocking/deep sleep, such that my G2 actually feels cold to the touch when it has been idle, the battery life is unreal!

Hi I am wondering what kernels everyone is using for their Incredible. I was using Tiamat 3.3.5 NO-SBC and got decent battery life. Today I put on Savaged-Zen-INC-0.0.2-BFS-HAVS-GB-signed. What is working best for you also what one would you recommend for maximum battery life. Thank you.
I'm kinda one of those people that just experiments around with kernels. Right now I'm using the same as you which is Tiamat, but I really have enjoyed the most recent incredikernel.
I'm running Skyraider 3.5 with the 2.6.32.27 incredikernel. Happy with it so far. I'm at 46% battery after 28 hours of medium use for calls, texts, browsing, and listening to music. I have the screen brightness pretty low and the cpu governer set to "smartass". I just flashed to this from HeyitsLou #9. That one gave great battery too...the best was almost 72 hours! I flashed to this one for the overclocking.
I really like incredikernel, I get great battery life out of it. when I flash a new kernel I bump charge then erase battery stats and I get about 2 days of battery out of it, that's with turning off wifi when not needed and custom automatic brightness
Hi, I recently flashed liquidsmooth 1.25 on my CDMA GN. Today I got around 3 hours and 20 minutes of on screen time, and the screen is taking up about all the battery (69% is the screen). Then 5% cell standby, 5% phone idle, and a few lower things. The main question, since the screen is about the only reason for lack of battery life, will using a different kernel change anything? I'm really just wondering if using a new kernel would actually make a difference. Thanks so much!
No, changing a kernel will not affect the screen-on time that drains the battery. Putting your brightness on it's lowest setting will though.
Thank you! So trying franco's kernel or leankernel won't really have much benefit? And one more somewhat OT question: is there any advantage to underclocking and undervolting with a new kernel? I'm using the regular liquidsmooth settings to underclock to 920mhz and undervolt to 1150 mV.
AFAIK LiquidSmooth is already using leankernel as it's stock kernel... (Imoseyon = leankernel)
I am using one of those ANKER 1700 MAH batteries.. I am also running LINOFISH 1.6 sotkc voltage and MIKG ROM 3.11. I just switched to INTELLIDEMAND GOVERNOR. I am wondering if anyone uses that and if being at 78% battery after 8 hours is good?? not too much use of the phone...
Is there a better governor to use to get better battery life but no lag? intellidemand seems to have a small lag opening apps..
Thanks..
I'd use underworld with SBC. It will help u get the most out of an extended battery. Been thinkin about getting one these myself.
Those batteries r great. I'm using one as well. Id recommend smartass gov and the underworld SBC kernel

I'm using a 2000mah batter picked up on Amazon. Pretty good and it lasts about 4 hours on constant use, including putting my phone to sleeping and waking it up a lot.
Any suggestions on which governor to use? Using Tiamat 4.1 SBC (not even sure if a new one is out). Running cm7.2 also.

4 hours???? not a good battery... I have a couple of 2000MAH batteries and they stink.. the ANKER 1700MAH with LIONFISH KERNEL and INTERACTIVE X last me close to 20 hours and I still have more then 20% battery left...
I havent run mikg in a while...but I am currently on Jamieg71 KWIQ rom with mason G .15 sbc kernel running stock frequencies wheatley governor and my battery lasts at least 16 hrs (with about 30-40% remaining) phone is very responsive too. my normal usage is GPS+track my run (30 minutes most days), pocket casts driving to work, few games of DRISK, many texts, emails and calls.
Edit:..stock battery
I've been running ahrd 12 for a day now, it's pretty impressive compared to ahrd 9.7.2 or stock.
My question relates to having to run apps like setcpu and juicy defender.
Are they still required , or will they just stuff up the better cpu and memory management that jb already has.
Thanks

Good question, I'd like to know this to.
I'm still on ARHD 11.1 (also JB) and loving it. But this phone is very power hungry so I'm trying as much as I can to keep the battery drainage as low as possible whilst retaining a very fast and responsive phone.
Currently I'm using SetCPU to reduce the CPU speed to 1GHz (interactive) for normal use, 860MHz (on demand) when the battery is below 25%.
CPU is limited to 640MHz (on demand) when sceen is off and may run at 1,2GHz (interactive) when charging.
As the screen is also a big battery hog I'm using Lux to change the screen brightness and I find the normal brightness way to bright.
Im running jelly time r24 and I used the battery calibrator app from play. Its supposed to delete your battery stats. And now my battery is dying quick as hell. Should I go thru a few charging cycles or did I mess it up already?:banghead:

Just make a (few?) manual cycle charge. Charge it full, delete battery stat, drain out your battery till 0% and charge it till 0mAh or while off overnight,
Cool ill give it a try. Thanks.

Also after to do the cycle you may want to run a batter monitor. I am using GSam Battery Monitor, others in the dev thread recommend BetterBatteryStats. You may have an app that is draining your battery and these will help pinpoint it. I had terrible battery drain recently on several of the JT releases, turns out it was BeWeather (which I have since uninstalled) holding wakelock. Since I have removed it battery is running very good.
