Hey guys,
I'm currently running cooldev's ROM Cool 3D AceS v4 which is equipped with bananacake's kernel version 0.7g I guess ... however i'm trying to update 0.8f but none of the two versions work. I've wiped the dalvik cache three times ... recovery tries to install the update but ends with "Installation aborted". Any clues how to fix this?
Do I need to update to a previous version like 0.8b before upgrading it to 0.8f?
Thank you so much for your help!
Failed download normally throws that

You have to unzip the file you download and in that there are some different version of the kernel.

Ok this might be a stupid question but I didn't find an answer when searching. I am running the Ginger Villain 1.8 rom version on my G2 phone but no matter how many rom updates I install my "Mod Version" always says GingerVillain1.4. Shouldn't it change with each update I install? Also my Android version never changes from 2.3.1 but i see other threads with pics showing 2.3.2 and 2.3.3.
Maybe try and do a fresh flash. Wipe and all that jazz?

Thanks for the reply. I tried multiple flashes that but still never changes from gingervillain 1.4. I always wipe data, cache partition and dalvik before every new rom install. 1.4 was the 1st rom i ever flashed so i don't know if that has something to do with it or what. I'm going to flash Xboarder56 v1.9 tonight and see how that goes but i'd still like to know why my Team Villain roms mod version stays the same
Haya all, I'm having problems downloading the latest version of rom manager, every time I click the update button in the market the download will start get to 100% then will fail. I'm using cm7. Is there a link to a .apk I can download or is any one else having the same prob?

Hello.I've installed cyanogenmod rom 7.1 and found out that gps not working,so I used rom manager to flash custom recovery image. But rom manager flashed recovery v.5.0.1 so I still can't flash radio. Can anybody help me? Thanks for reply.
If you scroll to the bottom in rom manager you can choose a different version for your temporary recovery.

Yep, and version 2.0.5.7 or so should do the trick
PS: sorry to go a little bit offtopic, but the newer CWM versions, do they lack the ability to delete cache, dalvik and data seperately? I rooted a friends wildfire and put CMW newer version on it and I only found a single delete possibility, seemed odd to me... (worked though)
Don't know about the new 5.0.2.0 version but you can wipe everything separate in mounts and storage.

I have posted this in the General section, however i think it should be here...
I'm updating a HTC Desire for a family member, the last rom installed was a villain 2.4 rom (it's been a while). I've updated the radio to the latest version ending in .23 and tried to flash the latest RunnymedeMod007, this is where I've encountered the problem. Im stuck on the opening HTC boot screen. And don't understand why, there's no reason for the freeze as far as i know. Should also note I've cleared every cache and wiped.
The second issue is that when there is a rom installed, the camera doesn't load and force closes.
Does anyone out there have any ideas why I've got these problems and could you help me out?
Cheers
have you wiped it a multiple times?
was sorted when I had the same problem

I've tried countless wipes and still ended up at the same point with the HTC screen.
I've followed the tutorial here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275632 for the problem but still nothing.
Any suggestions?

I'll sum it up quickly for everyone, I'm not a desire user and simply don't understand the system of flashing, could anyone explain what I have to do in noob language? or a tutorial thread that explains it all would do. Thanks for the help by the way.

I flashed the unofficial 6.02 but when i tried to restore my rom backup it said invalid md5 sum, so i wanted to go back to the 5.02 official but the bootloader installs it, then says error then reboots the phone. is there anyway to go back? because had i known before i wouldnt have updated.
And after i flashed eqdkp 5.1 there was a folder called blobs in sd/clockworkmod/blobs im not sure if it had anything to do the rom at all, but its taking up about 200 mb so i wanna know if its safe to delete
Try via rom manager and flash official 1.

^^^^what he said. But I don't think that reverting to an older version will help you with the md5 error.
