Hi,
Firstly, sorry for undoubtedly posting in the wrong place but I've looked all over the place and I'm stuck.
Just updated to Revolution 6.1.2 and Marketplace 3.1.6 seems to crash/hang at loading screen when downloading every 3rd or 4th app from Marketplace and I have to kill it in task manager to be able to try it again. Normally this attempt after killing works.
Any ideas what to do or where to post is greatly appreciated...I'm a noob noob so please keep any explanations as simple as possible
Cheers,
CS
Does your language on the phone is English US or UK? If not ,change it - if its already selected, reselect it.
If it still crashing, try to reinstall the market app, clear cache..
I know there is also sop's permissions issue to be checked but first try the language issue

I had the same problem with the new market (both 3.1.6 and 3.2.0) so reverted to the old market(2.3.6). It faster & smoother than the new versions.
Just flash the attached zip in recovery and you will get the old market.
but there's a problem, u have to stop it from updating. For that -
1. Using a root explorer(like ES File explorer)>go to system>app>delete market updater>reboot(not mandatory)
2. Freeze the market updater.apk using Titanium backup or similar apps.
3. if u can afford to reinstall the rom, open the rom zip file>system>app>delete market updater and replace the vending.apk with the attached vending.apk
I also had this issue but use language fix and permissions helped me.
The old market is good but we always want to see the future

I have CM 6.1 Stable - And it has been working great except for the loss of signal that happens rarely. Now I am having issues with either updating or Installing Apps. They will download but every time the Installation Fails? Any ideas on why or how to fix it other than performing a Nandroid restore?
This is actually a common issue. I'm not sure what causes it exactly. The best advice I can give you is get Root Explorer (file manager), after you download something - got to sdcard, then download (that's the folders' name). The files from Market will be listed as download.apk, download-1.apk and so on. Just click on it and install. To attach it to the market (so you can update) use titanium backup and use it to attack the app to the market.
Sometimes if you delete the .apk in the download folder then re-download it and sometimes it will let it install. Sorry this answer probably isn't what you're looking for but it's the best I have, maybe some one else has a fix for this. Will buy a six pack for a working solution
I just posted something and one of the issues I was having was this. Thanks for the answer! Hopefully a full fix is coming!
Yeah I saw that. Never thought to move it to the phone before updating I'll test it out and see how often it works, you might have found a fix Thanks!
So I have tried doing a factory reset and installing cyanmogen 6.1 but it hasn't fixed it completely. Some aps will install some won't, I'm not sure how it chooses. Can't install Angry Birds do you all think Unrooting and Rerooting? That might fix it probably? Any way you guys could provide me with a link on how to unroot? Thanks

That has nothing to do with it. I tried the method listed but it doesn't always work. The best I can tell you is try again. Go to the 'download' folder on your sdcard and either click on the apk and install it or delete it and try to DL and install it with the market again.
You also might try flashing the new market, see if it's a market issue, I had some serious stability issues with the froyo market before they pushed the huge update.

The old version here cannot receive the picture associated with the contact. I have attached the newer version that comes with HTC Sensation. I got it from the file "Stock Apps+ODEX.zip" at this thread: [APPS] T-Mobile Stock Apps & Stock Apps+ODEX Files
Also you may want to sign the application first. Then check the above replay by @maniacscorpio.

Running a Unrooted Galaxy S3 LTE. The app installs fine, I get a black screen for a few seconds, then it says "Unfortunately, Transfer has stopped."
Do I need root access?
I extracted Quickoffice.apk from the Stock HTC Wildfire ROM and want to install on Cynogen mod 7 RC4.
I tried installing the Quickoffice.apk in two ways :
1) copied Quickoffice.apk to /sdcard and tried installing through pkg installer
2) copied Quickoffice.apk to /system/apps
In both case when I run Quickoffice by clicking on the icon it gives error with a popup "The application Quickoffice (process com.qo.andriod.htc) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
Request help to install Quickoffice.apk
I do not have adb installed on my computer.
thanks.
Quickoffice is a htc-app and can't be installed on a AOSP rom like CM7, it can only be installed on a htc-sense rom
YOu can get it from market. I have it in my cm7.

One from market is working well here , so have a look on it ;]
I'm also having the same issue as sdixit3 is, but on an HTC hero running CM7RC3. To try and resolve the force close issue, I tried the "Fix Permissions" utility in ROM Manager (v3.0.0.7), since that looked promising for FC issues. Nothing has worked thus far, unfortunately.
Sorry for being a noob, this is my first post and I believe I'm in the wrong forum, but I've been racking my brains trying to fix the same thing!

Check Post 2. The Quickoffice on the default HTC ROM is an HTC Customized App, and, it wont work on ROMs without Sense. It's the same with every other HTC Sense App like their Clock, Widgets, FM Radio, Dialer etc.
Definitely try this one, way better http://db.tt/mXgDCwv or the same one http://db.tt/d7DA2NX, but for flashing into the system

someone have the pkg files to install the quick office in android device with out market ??
Oddly, I cannot reinstall Swype how I used to. I have the lib file as well as the Swype.apk and I would usually push it through using ADB. It got pushed successfully and I could use Swype as a NORMAL keyboard but I cannot Swype. There is a blue box around the Swype keyboard after I try to swype. Ultimately, I get a message that says the Swype was installed for a device that is not the current device that I am trying to install it on. It worked just fine on all past CM7. I realize we're on 2.3.7 now but how come it doesn't work? What was the drastic change?
I'd also like to know why it's not working anymore. I followed the same procedure I always do to restore it after installing a new version of CM, but it's not letting me swipe words.
this exact same thing happened on g-lite yesterday to me had to restore to previous rom...weird!
Edit your /system/build.prop
Back to:
ro.product.model=T-Mobile G2
ro.product.brand=tmobile
reboot...profit...
that would have been helpful last night or this morning lol. Either way it was giving all kinds of weird problems and no amount of superwiping would fix the random reboots. I only flashed g-lite to overclock boo
How exactly do I edit that?

I use ES File Explorer... it's free in the Market. You just need to enable read/write in the Settings and you'll be ready to go. I edit mine in the way mentioned above after every ROM update. I like to use T-Mobile's My Account/My Device apps. Works perfectly. Reboot after you make the change.
Or you could just download the installer from sype beta and install swype. Pretty basic

Yeah, I was wondering why you folks don't just do that, instead of messing with ADB and editing system files.
would you be able to describe the steps in detail, the above descriptions are way to vague. Any help would be appreciated, I too have swype and it is not working properly. Thanks Greg
go to the swype beta site (make sure you uninstall all traces of swype) register and in your email you get a link for your phone...it will download an installer apk install that, start it up and it will download and install the latest swype....thats it.
Sweet it works

I contacted Swype about this issue.
They responded and said that Swype does not (and will not) support custom ROMs of any kind. Your best bet is the beta.
See: http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...gn=Feed:+xda-developers/ShsH+(xda-developers)
I'm surprised it worked on CM for as long as it did. What puzzles me, is in the statement above they say its ok for devs to include Swype in roms for phones that had Swype preinstalled (same version must be provided). I may contact Swype again based on that.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
the old version of swype that i had, 1.64.x worked with cm7.0.3, but not with cm7.1.0. i downloaded the new version of swype, 3.25.x, and it works with cm7.1.0
Thanks, everyone! Took more steps than the old Swype Restore method for the RC.
My steps:
Uninstall Swype using Titanium Backup.
Download APK from Swype website (after signing up)
Install APK
Select OPEN button
Login to my Swype beta account
Enter account code (email)
Select all languages (because there was no English only option)
Open Android keyboard
Go to keyboard settings
Select Swype
Accept EULA
I got the Swype beta and hate it . I get more wrong words than the stock Swype. I've tried different settings still getting dumb words popping up.

Exactly why I prefer the stock Swype.

I found the answer over on the Swype Beta forums...
I would suggest using THIS method for uninstalling your old swype
Go to Settings -> Language & Keyboard and UNCHECK Swype.
Go to Settings -> Applications -> Swype Press CLEAR DATA. Then press UNINSTALL.
Go to Settings -> Applications -> SwypeInstaller Press CLEAR DATA. Then press UNINSTALL. (won't have this- maybe Swype Restore?)
Delete everything from the download directory on your SDcard
Reboot your device.
Install the update latest version of Swype. (As detailed in an earlier post)
It seems the data from the old swype was causing a problem with the latest version.
Sounds like a good habit, because if you have any trouble they will want you to do
that anyway...

UPDATE: 3rd July 2012
yet another update guys, this time Jelly Bean version 3.7.13
i will also leave the previous version attached.
Note: for some reason google has renamed the apk file name to phonesky no idea why, so i was a bit baffled when trying to find the apk in system/apps folder lol
i know that most people will recieve the update automatically sooner or later, but for people in regions with a slow rollout grab it from the attachment.
also any devs that want to integrate it into their rom, makes it easier for the end user rather than them having to update.
Hope it helps.
Enjoy guys.
Thanks a lot,it is faster than 3.3.11.
Your welcome.

Waaaaayyyy too fast.
Thanks a lot.
I didn't notice such a huge difference. Maybe because I use it on WiFi mainly.
The Market servers are responding better now and I downgraded to 3.1.13 without feeling a difference that justifies the memory usage.
Thanks anyway to all involved.

Try install it like any other .apk using a file manager don't forget to clear cache and data before first use, in application manager.
Then use titanium backup to push the update into the rom.
the market can b fix by installing this update in cm7...see improvement after reboot..
Buggy
I saw it as a fast but useless upgrade. Try relinking market links with Titanium or Rom Manager Pro. Doesn't work and loses all your market links on a recovery from backup. Shows installed apps as uninstalled, etc. It's random and buggy.
Uninstalled and reinstalled, cleaned data, cache etc.. No go.
Reverted to 3.3.12 and no problems. All my market linked apps came back and showed me all the updates I'd been missing out on since early December.
Going to wait on this one. Market 3.3.12 isn't all that slow anyways.

Yes I did clean cache and data from the old Market. It's still a bit slow loading images but I admit that it's slightly better than the previous version. Now I'm using it because basically my phone auto-installed it and I won't downgrade again.
I had to use Root Explorer, delete the system/app/vending.apk, copy the new market3.3.3.apk to same folder, rename it to vending.apk then rebooted phone and the market was there, working.
Rooted, latest RocketRom v13 with abyssnote.
This was automatically downloaded as an update for me. O_O
yes, faster but bigger.. and for s-on users is new market horror moovie...
