Hello everyone
I have a HTC Diamond
And want to install Android on it
But do not succeed!
I follow these steps:
1.I Have Formatted My Internal Storage and Create This Partitions :
1st partition: FAT32 (sdcard / Rest)
2nd partition: EXT2 (system / 300MB )
3rd partition: EXT2 (data / 300MB)
4th partition: EXT2 (cache / 300MB)
2.I have downloaded FroyoB THUNDERBOLT V1 from this topic :
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7558
3.Extracted the FroyoB to sd card (the extracted .zip file was npkboot folder!)
(now on the root of my Internal Storage has a npkboot folder)
4.I have downloaded a zImage + modules and copied those to root of Internal Storage
(now on the root of my Internal Storage there are 3 things! zimage, modules and npkboot folder)
5.But now I do not know what should I do
Please help me
I'll have a look
@ HTC0017 plz post all steps clear
thanX
Please try this, worked for me.
NPKboot folder:
Use the right startup.txt for your device (important: rel_path=npkboot).
Use a ts-calibration file from a working android build.
Put the kernel files in the npkboot folder and start haret from this folder.
Push quickly the volume down button when haret asks for this.
Use the Clear data/etc option to format partitions
When ready install the thunderbolt zip file.
Reboot device and run haret in the NPKfolder to start android for the first time.

hi guys,
i'm having troubles to make an ext3 partition on my SD card. I've recently bought a desire which i successfully rooted. I also have flashed a custom rom (leedroid).
I would like to try other roms like MIUI and non-sense but i read these require an ext3.
Ive been searching for this for 2 days now without succes. Ive found many guides but they have all failed in a way...
NOT TO BE LAZY, like i said ive been strugling with this for 2 days.
But could anyone give me some guidelines on how to do this ?. There is just so much info out there that its very confusing.
Thx in advance guys !
You can try this using MiniTool Partition Wizard
You could also try you using an Ubuntu live cd of GParted by either burning it to a cd or boot it from a usb stick: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download.
Or, you use it from within Ubuntu (vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVK-tJe8pXE&feature=related)
1) Connect your phone to your computer (or use an SD Card adapter...., in this case skip to 4)
2) Pull down the notification bar and mount the phone
3) Start Gparted
4) Gparted will search available drives. (Your phone should show up as a USB drive, and will be something like /dev/sdb1 or /dev/sdc1, etc..)
Warning: double-check you've not selected a hdd by mistake!
5) In the upper right corner, select the correct USB device for your phone. (i.e. check to make sure it is correct size for your SD card)
6) Right click on each partition and select 'unmount'
7) Right click on each partition and select 'delete'
If you know what you are doing, you can re-size the partitions and add a new 2nd partition formatted as ext2/3/4
8) Right click on the big gray bar (should say unallocated x.xx gb) and click 'new'
9) Enter configurations
Free Space preceding = 0
Create as = Primary
New size = [don't touch]
File system = fat32
Free Space Following = 512 (or whatever you want)
10) Click add
11) Right click on the big gray bar (should say unallocated x.xx gb) and click 'new'
12) Enter configurations
Free Space preceding = 0
Create as = Primary
New size = [don't touch]
File system = ext2/3/4 (recommend ext4)
Free Space Following = 0 (or ~32 if you want swap)
Click add
13) Click edit, then 'Apply All Operations' to write changes to disk
14) Quit GParted
15) Unmount your SD Card
16) Reboot your phone
Another method via Windows using Pushfiles:
1) Turn on your phone while holding the volume down button.
2) You will see HBOOT on the screen.
3) Use the volume buttons to move up and down and power button to select the RECOVERY option.
4) You will now see a red triangle on the screen, at this point plug your phone into your PC via your microUSB cable and wait for 10-15 seconds.
5) Unzip the file pushfiles_windows.zip that you downloaded earlier, and double click on recovery-windows.bat inside this unzipped folder.
6) Once you run it you will notice, the screen of your device change to a green recovery image menu.
7) In the recovery image, select the Partition SD card option, convert ext2 to ext3. Done!
Pushfiles attached below.
Thx for your reply.
I have installed "MiniTool Partition Wizard " and came to the conclusion that my SD card has an EXT3 partition :s. So some of the things i've tried must have worked...
But i got another question.
I have installed "Quick system information".
A2SD storage is total 458MB with 319MB free.
My internal storage is 148MB with 98,98MB free. (THIS WAS 138MB right after rom install)
System storage is total 250MB with 26,46MB free.
Memory is 416 with 124MB free, idle 34,28MB.
I thought that with a A2SD rom + an EXT3 partition everything would be placed on this ext3 partition on my sd card.
How does it come that my internal/system storage is decreasing?
I'm on leedroid v2.3b
thx in advance guys
That is because only your apps are moved to your SD card. Not the Data of the apps. If you want that, than you must install a data2sd rom.
An easy way to make an ext3 partition or transforming an ext2 to an ext3 partition is using amon ra recovery. You can find it in the android development. You install it using unrevoked (the same way that you rooted)
Ah so there is a difference between a data2sd rom and a app2sd rom?

The way A2SD works is that it moves the /data/app/ directory to the SD-EXT (moves app data to the SD card partition)... however, it doesn't move the data/data directory, as this remains on the internal storage.
The main difference between A2SD and Data2SD is that /data/data is moved to SD-EXT with Data2SD, and with A2SD, it remains in internal storage.
After following the guide I get this error while installing it on my kaiser
Installed the image before, with camera end power button on, then reset the phone, and I get this error?
Files on SD card:

ttp://i53.tinypic.com/11wbqy0.png
Error:

Put a 'h' before the links, because I can't post outside link because i Don't have eight posts yet
It looks like you've put .rar files in the andboot folder. You need to extract them and put the androidinstall.tgz or androidinstall.tar file there instead. Same for the androidupdate.tgz or androidupdate.tar
Did you create the partitions on the sd?
they are not rar files, Winrar can open TGZ/TAR files, that's why you see the winrar icons.
I don't have partitions on the sd card, i can't create them in Windows or with partition master?
EDIT: I did partition the sd card with ubuntu live cd, they are both FAT32.
Did the whole thing again, made new files etc.
Only now if I hold camera en power button, I only get tri color, no option to flash. (I see the gray flash screen for a sec, then it dissapears.!
EDIT2: Flashed phone with original ROM, now it work with wm again.
If I nou try to hold camera and power button I will get exact the same error. (Hanging in tri color screengray flash screen voor 1 sec, then it returns to tri color.)
I'm spending the whole day to get this working and it didn't work.
My steps:
Atools:
Device: Kaiser
Reso: 240*320
Version: Froyo
Key Map: Normal
Cpu overclock: 520 Mhz
FStab> System AUTO > Data SD Partition P2>Swap> SD Partition 3
Save NBH File as KAISIMG.NBH in root of SD card
Mixer:
Add install: androidinstall froyo 2.2
Downloading Module update
Extracting Files
Make Map in Root of SD card with name: 'andboot'
Bootscript editor:
System > NAND p2
DATA> NAND p3
Actions:
Install system
Fix permission
Clear Davik Cache
Use SD partitioner
Disk options
Disk size 8GB
Number of partitions: 2
Fs Type: fat32
Size: 1024
What is going wrong??
someone that can help?
Next time wait, a post like "someone that can help?" it's unuseful, this is xda-developers (DEVELOPERS).
Change the thread with a more correct title.
the problem is simple:
FStab> System AUTO > Data SD Partition P2>Swap> SD Partition 3
mean:
install system on nand p2
install data on sd partition 2
use swap on sd parition 3
but in BSE you select:
System > NAND p2
DATA> NAND p3
So do you want data on nand p3 or sd partition 2?
Also:
- sd partition 2 isn't formatted in ext2 and the script didn't format it (if you have selected NAND p3)
- you didn't create a swap partition
I think that you have to wait and think before asking or you look like a stupid
Still didn't work after I followed your steps.
If I'm right the best is to install system and data on NAND, because it would be faster?
I created 2 partitions again.
First one = FAT32
Second one = EXT2
They are both 3.70GB
I've put my SD card in a rar file and uploaded it.
I would appreciate it if you could take a look at it.
ttp://ww.megaupload.com/?d=0Y3ELB2H (put h before link and add an extra w)
Screen of my partitions (DISK2)

sorry if i don't understand it good, english is not my first language.
use this file, extract
install-seq.sh in /andboot
start the phone
you didn't create a swap partition so set it to auto in atools or create one.
CHANGE THE THREAD TITLE!
I think i'm gonna give it up....
I think I miss something.
Again did everything you said.
Here some pics of installation on phone:
http://i55.tinypic.com/29vatqx.jpg
http://i52.tinypic.com/1118c9v.jpg
After quitting the installation screen:
http://i56.tinypic.com/5plfv4.jpg
I think you messed up something in atools/nbheditor.
start from the nbheditor, select the location for data and system (and all other settings), set SWAP TO AUTO, save the nbh,
don't close atools, go to bse select first install(only first install), save install-seq.sh
put the files in correct location and flash the phone, reset and wait.
Did everything again, install went good, only one error:
Found boot parameter for system
system on nand partition
found boot parameter for data
data on nand partition
failed
Install module for this kernel.
day 2 of not using my phone, hehe, but i won't rest untill it's fixed
try to apply this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848921
I can't get it working.
I think i'm doing wrong with installing module for the kernel, i can't find a guide for that, or am I looking not good?
I dont really know why I did the thing but its,
Making a folder name modules and putting androidudpate.tgz in that folder on my SD Card. The installation never asked me a 2nd time to install module for this kernel thing.
BTW what kind of installation you want on your kaiser?
SYS on NAND, DATA on WHAT SD Card Partition? Maybe you are missing something in Atools
Hi Guys,
this is my first post.
I managed to get S2E working with the latest CM9.
The key problem seems to be related with the ext4.
So, let's distinguish two cases:
1) Data wiped. In this case it should be enough to create an ext2 partition. You can refer to one of the many guides to do that. Then in recovery, just mount system and in the folder /system/etc/init.d and remove the file 90userinit. After this you can install S2E from the market or download and install it from the sdcard.
2) Already using S2E and not willing to wipe data.
Assuming you have the clockworkmod, go to recovery.
Backup your system.
Install the latest CM9 (galaxy-ics-latest).
Rename you sd-ext backup file (from sd-ext.ext4.tar to sd-ext.ext2.tar) in the folder just created inside /clockworkmod/backup, i did it mounting the usb in the usb and storage menu.
After this, you also have to open the nandroid.md5 file and do the same as prevoius point in the file. It shouldn't be required to generate a new signature.
Create an ext2 partition:
mkfs.ext2 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Restore the backup in the recovery menus: Advanced restore, restore sd-ext.
If everything went fine, just reboots and S2E should work.
Cheers.
Hello all,
Note: This is safe and will not harm your data.
What this script does is change all the mount points for sdcard storage so that everything maps to your physical sdcard, and not the internal phone memory. The script will survive ROM flashes/updates provided you do not erase your entire /data partition. You can choose to manually copy the script or use the clockwork recovery installation. To revert, simply delete the script from /data/local. Internal sdcard storage is located at /emmc. External sdcard storage is located at /sdcard.
Instructions for manual copy:
Copy the script to /data/local
Change script permissions to 755
Change script owner/group to root/root (or 0/0)
Reboot
Instructions for zip:
Reboot into recovery
Choose the zip and install
Reboot
Will this work if you are running stock? I want this because I want everything in one place...on my 32gb Sdcard.
Sounds great, I'm just a little nervous to try I it out.
If you want to revert back to the previous setup, do you just erase the script?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
There's no way to make an script to show Storage as on Jelly Bean 4.1 that on Solid Explorer or any file mananger you only see SD card and external sd card
So an script that delete the emulated and legacy folders. just asking..

It is safe, and yes you can just erase it. Updated the OP.

Would this method work with my p3110 too? I upgraded to cm 10.1 and gl 2 SD doesn't work anymore
This doesn't seem to work completely; it doesn't make the proper mount points to /storage/emulated/0 This is the main location for Android 4.2
I could be doing it incorrectly though. Thanks!
This does not work on the latest nightly. With 10.0 or 10.1. I get an error flashing from TWRP, too.
