ok this is the guide from Qzytor

Install NetRippers Msm7kCpuSpeed V.2 App. in your Device -- (I'm using v.1 becouse with v.2 i didn't get above 700mhz)
Install oruam57s SetCpuSpeed v1.0d on SD card.
Take SD card out and soft reset the phone.
Open registry.
Go to HKLM\Software\Msm7kCpuSpeed.
Edit the values as below:
BootTime = 90000 (This is important. This value gives enough time for the
phone to fully boot up. The phone has to fully boot up
before the OC kicks in)
CheckTime = 20 (Stable at 20, otherwise yoyos between base and OCed
cpu speed)
Command = 0
PerfomanceLevel = 35 (This speed is stable for me without SOD)
ScreenOffPerfomanceLevel = 27
SettlingTime = 10
Close Registry editor, insert SD card in the phone and soft reset the phone.
Once the phone has fully boot up, give it a minute before opening NetRippers Msm7kCpuSpeed and you should see your OCed cpu speed.
If your OC cpu speed isnt stable then take your SD card out,soft reset the phone and registry edit PerfomanceLevel to a lower value.
To restore back to phone default speed:
Open File Explorer.
Go to Windows\Startup folder and delete SetCpuSpeed.
Soft reset the phone and phone default speed will be restored.
Before deleting SetCpuSpeed from Windows\Startup folder , save it in Documents folder so if you want to overclock again, copy and paste it from Documents folder to Windows\Startup folder.
SKTools Benchmark at 672 MHz:
Intiger = 416.5933 Moves/25 usec.(At stock speed Intiger = 332.6351)
Floating point = 9.56 MWIPS. (At stock speed Floating point = 7.47 MWIPS)
I haven't tested it but this should also work on SEX1 and Touch Diamond.
OVERCLOCK AT YOUR OWN RISK.
ok thats Qzytor post which is really great and i'm very thankfull for this
this is my setting and i try this on energy and valkyrie rom working on xperia
BootTime = 90000
CheckTime = 20
Command = 0
PerfomanceLevel = 39 (thats 744mhz and it's stabel for me )
ScreenOffPerfomanceLevel = 27
SettlingTime = 10
but i'm using msm7kcpuspped v1 not v2 .....
you don't need to plug in the phone especially when the phone boots up (thats was may first mistake i never wait the phone to fully boot up , and i was allways presing some buttons and that's way my phone was freezing so just wait and you will see for yourself
it's working stable but only plug in to ac adapter ....the speed is quite impresive ..
X1 freeze even on AC Adapter
Can't get this app to work on my x1 even on ac adapter.
Each time I try to adjust the speed my x1 will freeze immediately and I had to hard reset it. It's even freeze when I underclock it.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong with it? By the way I'm using WM6.5.3 ROM. Could this be the reason?
Thanks.

Doesnt works for me,they always returns the PerfomanceLevel to 30.
Tell me, any difference running at 692? May i see youtube videos on Skyfire? And the battery drain?
Ok, now it works but my max PerfomanceLevel is 33 (634mhz)

What numbers do you use?
BootTime =
CheckTime =
Command = 0
PerfomanceLevel =
ScreenOffPerfomanceLevel =
SettlingTime =
Results
634mhz:
387
9.150
stock:
330
7.756
I dont know what it means
i use
BootTime =90000
CheckTime =20
Command = 0
PerfomanceLevel =36
ScreenOffPerfomanceLevel =27
SettlingTime =10
and i use it for two days without any SOD ...but i think this is the max what xperia can achieve ...becouse any other setting above performance level 36 is SOD or restart ... but performance was quite impressive ...i will post the results later .... i can only say that performance in fpsece was better (playable) around 25-30 fps ..before 15-20
I don't understand this step: "Go to HKLM\Software\Msm7kCpuSpeed"
How to do that?

Use a registry editor to navigate to that "folder." If you google registry editor, you'll figure it out.
there is another tool for overclocking called OCT 1.5 , but i coludn't overclocked not even for 10 mhz , its allways frezes ,so if anybody can overclocked with this tool please let us know....
i use now xperia overclocked to 692 mhz in i see an improvement but i would like to overclocked to 768 mhz , ....if you have touch pro 2 is that quite easy to achieve (so it looks ) ...
so if anyone can explain to me what's the difference that they overclocked so high ?

is android 2.3 can't overclock...?
becaue updated can't power on....
stay the HTC EVO 4G this screen...and repeat pwoer on...lol
but i restored my system....
some body konw?? hlep...plz....
All you have to do to overclock is flash a custom kernel that supports it. Funny thing about phones are they are all different. I have had 3 EVO's now and my first one wouldn't go over 1036 without crashing. My second one handled 1190 with no problems. The one I have now handles 1190, but starts getting hot and hiccups a little, but if I keep it around 1075 it runs real smooth. I really don't see much of a difference in everyday use by overclocking, but if you insist on doing it find a kernel that supports it and is made for your Rom. If you tell us what Rom you are using we can give you some kernel options. If you get the app called SetCPU it will allow you to overclock your CPU if your kernel supports it. Also, overclocking is built in to Cyanogenmod.
Thank you!!!
this is my system kernel

sorry,for the android system related...don't know much about..
but,thanks your answer~~^_________^
You'll need a custom kernel. I use Savaged-Zen myself (BFS version). It's smooth and fast, and never gave me an issue over- or under-clocking.
You will have to test your phone out though. Mine can run at 1190 and pass any stress test I throw at it without problem, but my brother's phone will freeze as soon as it hits 1190, but can manage 10-something. Try out different clocks and see what runs fine on yours.
Edit: The Savaged-Zen mirror is whacky right now. If it gives you a 404 error when downloading it, just keep trying. It'll eventually download.
but my rom is CM7...android2.3.3...is different?
but thank you very much!!!!!
downloading....!
is this rom have chinese language?
because i'm taiwan person....l0l
I Have Htc Wilfire on 2.3.3 Running Cyanogen Mod Can I Over Clock It ?
Yes
You can find it under Settings->Cyanogen Mod settings->Performance
ye but which is the best like speed cos i dont want to break it ?
and is it max Cpu
It depends on you and your need.
And afaik all the speeds listed there are safe, but your phone MIGHT be unstable at 768.
thanks ill go in the 600 section thanks bro
I personaly have it at 729 and it's running as smooth as butter.
Just watch out that higher frequency=more battery drain.
I have 176mhz as min and 710mhz as max. no problem so far
min ----245MHz
max----614MHz (normal)
max----710MHz(gaming)
governor- interactive
gives the best result...
normal usage with live wallpaper(nexus)--30hrs backup appx
Hello, to start yes I'm really stupid! I did watch the video in the start to try and find the answer to the following questions but it just confuses me and I would really like to get this done, thanks and on to the question!
So minutes ago I got my CM7 working for the first time! And right away I wanted to increase the clock of my CPU but it won't go higher then 768 on setcpu. From what I managed to understand its because of the kernel... So is it possible to increase the max clock with another kernel, if so whitch one and how much is safe to clock?
Thanks!
HTC Buzz (Wildfire)
Android version 2.3.7
Kernel version 2.6.35.14
Mod: Cyanogen 7.1.0.1 build GWK74
Yes its the kernel that controls CPU speed, test it for a while at 768mhz as not many wildfires can even cope with that, if you have problems random reboots, freezing etc then turn it down a little.
Kieranftw made a kernel called infinity ice or play I think? which made it possible to oc at 788 or 800mhz, mine was fine at 788 but very unstable at 800 so now I just settle for 768 as I didn't really notice a difference between the two, any higher than that is asking for trouble imo.
ok thanks for the answer, ive had no errors with the current settings, maybe ill keep it like this for the moment
hi I have searched but to no success, I need the best Rom for gaiming and oc kernel I mean which is going to give me best performance and fps on games like backstab which lag abit. cola Rom looks perfect but it's only for cdma :-( so can someone who's played abit with roms on there play give me some advice please as I have finally gone and unlocked my bootloader thanks in advance and any help will be appreciated
The best for gaming is stock rom + custom kernel (like eg. DoomKernel) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176502)
For me it works on every game without lags (OC to 1.21 gHz)

thanks for reply, you have no lag on any game just by upping cpu by 200mhz ? is your stock se Rom bloat free ? I was thinking maybe oc by atleast 1.4 to really notice improvements because backstab lags quite abit in some places
with this kernel u got root and u can (using Titanium Backup) delete all bloatware from SE.
U can OC to max 2 gHz but i think it drain to much battery and i dont need more than 1.21 gHz, but if i find a game with lugs i change it.
doom kernel here I come
Best Gaming Rom + Kernel
Best Gaming rom is:
NXT Gaming 1.2
Its amazing All the tweaks in it together make it so fast i dont even use oc unless im like playing MC4(Yea,mc4,I can play mc4,The game that lagged so much on the xperia play,I can play it at minimal 30 Fps,i even get 50 somtimes and in cutscenes i get around 60)
I also use Lupus GB,It is truly amazing,I used to use Doomkernal because of its 1.8Ghz Oc capability but Lupus is truly faster,I got on average 30 FPs with Lupus @ 1.2 Ghz vs Doomkernal at 1.2 Ghz i got on average 26
I mesured all this with an app in the appstore called FPS Meter
Hope this helped!
