MIUI - HTC Wildfire S

Hey, are there any changes that there will come a port of MIUI to our phone?
Here is a movie from the desire s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akKmISY5FuQ
Really hope to get that on my phone also

Of couursee (I hope too), in good time - still waiting for HTC to push that bloody button.

Original wildfire never got it so it's fairly unlikely.

Yes agreed, really need HTC to unlock the Wildfire S before we expect official roms from the like of MIUI etc.
Just a matter of time.

Miui is for ARM v7 device. Also it require at least 480*800.

For a little MIUI experience, there is already a theme for CM7:

With Go SMS and some other custom apps you can have a greater MIUI experience.

[Q] Pros and Cons? Non-sense vs. sense roms

Hi all!
Basically....iv used mainly sense roms...tried a few and im with leedroid at the moment...seems very stable and quick and i like the htc goodies....mainly the htc phone, messaging, music and gallery.
Iv also tried CyanogenMod but i didnt get on with it without the sense goodies.
Is there good alternatives for the htc stuff? or did i not give non-sense android a chance? I'm thinking of doing a full wipe and going to opendesire.
What are the advantages in your opinions between sense and non-sense roms???
Advice much appreciated!

Guess you got your Desire because of Sense, or you could buy a N1
I like HTC stuff, though a UI revamp is likely planned for Gingerbread, so you still shouldn't drop stock Android off yet.

For me the biggest disadvantage to non-sense roms is the lack of a decent T9 dialler (where you press the number buttons to substitute for letters and it filters your contacts). There is the Dialler One app available but it's nowhere near as good as the Sense one.
If the Sense dialler could be put into a vanilla rom then I would probably be happy.
Using Defrost at the moment.

Though CM6 with Fancy Widget- OnOff widgets and ³ player worked fine for me. I still missed the dialer, though. If you only want some stock-ish feeling, go install ADW.Launcher

With LeeDrOid sense rom i never used the htc clock and used switchwidget pro with launcher pro...so homescreen wise im not bothered by....its just the dialer, gallery and music mainly.
Also any facebook contact sync apps that are good for contact pictures?

Facebook contact sync is built in to FroYo... I think, if it isn't then it is when you download the Facebook official app.
I havnt tried the facebook app since some updates, but before it didnt work too well
Sense rom = More widgets(htc widgets) , pinchout to select home screens , good dialer.
Non sense rom = More free ram , no htc widgets , no htc sync.
But both of them good with Desire, because Desire is superb

Both are good with battery life. But for my option non sense is a little better.
Like Mshaw03 HTC dialer and selecting text Copy-past on browser. It's really great on sense. But I prefer the froyo lockscreen, the gray status bar other way I prefer the froyo look and feel.
I'm on OpenDesire 4.0.4
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Graphics performance is better with non-Sense ROMs because of newer kernel...
just..try it) play Asphalt 5 on Sense ROM then on Non-Sense ROM like OpenDesire...
WITHOUT OC and smth
I love sense too much for it's keyboard, clock and alarm
And HTC sync
Sense roms have better UI, useful apps, widgets and implements but they work slower (according to Quadrant scores)
Non-sense roms work faster(again, according to Quadrant scores), have a little extended battery life. But they have some important lacks. Gallery 3D works slow imo and there is no alternative. They have very basic UI(Google have to do something about that). There is no copy/paste like HTC's. bla bla..
I love both of them but non-sen roms need some time imo.
I just tried opendesire then defrost....defrost has the cm options which i prefer over opendesire. And it feels so much quicker than sense roms.
Does anyone know if n1 cm themes would work with cm rom for desire...hense then work for defrost since it is cm basically???
I use t-mod, an Australian variant of Leedroid. I really dig it, buy I would get rid of Sense in an instant as it does little but slow down Froyo. The only advantages for me are the Data on/off widget, and the fact that it doesn't have the oj and headphone jack death bug. I love the horizontal caller id slider - the Sense up/down one kept answering or declining in my pocket until I got widget locker, which is a great workaround but you have to slide open widget locket before you get to the caller id screen. As soon as the oj death issue is fixed I will change over, no typing app is accurate enough to do without it imho, and none even have forward delete to make it even slightly tolerable.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Oh, to elaborate, I tried Opendesire, but as I understand it, all non- sense roms have the oj death bug.

[Q] Gingerbread with HTC Sense?

Hello!
I'm currently running Oxygen's excellent Gingerbread 2.0 RC6 on my Desire. It's been fine, although I notice many of the visual enhancements don't currently work - like screen on/off animation etc. I also get the Oxygen loading screen hang frequently.
Now, I can put up with these things IF there is a way to get the Sense UI onto the device while running Gingerbread... I have no idea if this is even possible or not!
Can someone please advise? Is there a launcher ROM that can be flashed over the top of Gingerbread that will give me the Sense UI goodies while giving me the other benefits of GB? Or am I limited to waiting for a modified Sense-based 2.3 ROM rather than an AOSP one such as Oxygen?
Appreciate you advice and input

Totally agree. I had the updated oxygen ROM and missed some of the sense features. COME ON HTC give us gingerbread with sense 2!!
Get the full version of launcherpro which has sense style Widgets for your homescreens. Then get the sense theme for the launcherbar at the bottom of the screen. Looks exactly the same without having to flash a sense rom.

They said so, but is is reasonable to assume that DesireHD and Desire Z get it first, then we are next.
That however could take a lot of time, I read something about September at the earliest.
Someone correct me please if I'm wrong.
Desire Gingerbread is coming around June time. No specifics as to whether DesireHD and Z get it first but it says they are all on the same schedule as the Incredible S whereas Desire S and Wildfire S will ship with 2.3
source: engadget.com/2011/02/27/htc-incredible-s-desire-hd-desire-z-and-original-desire-will-a/
That could take a while, which is why some of us are installing Gingerbread Roms in the 1st place
Probably will especially if you have to wait for your relevant carrier to tinker with it first. That's why I flashed custom. May go to official HTC rom if/ when this is leaked just depends how slow it is compared to CM 7 unless of course it has sense 2 (crosses fingers)
I'm running CM7 RC1 with Honeycomb Alva v4 theme with ADW EX and I'm loving the look of honeycomb. I hope the brilliant devs that works hard for our free roms can work their magic on the SDK. I wish I could do it, I'm going to start reading up on it nut I never have time so I'd be a cack dev lol. but I must say I'm looking forward to seeing sense on a gingerbread rom!!!

[Q] MIUI ROM Port

Hi Devs,
Can Anyone work on porting MIUI rom In wildfire as I saw one of my friends using MIUI rom in his Defy and m very much excited to use it in wildfire.
i want it to but its not possible due to hardware limitations on the wildfire ;[
Not going to happen for several reasons. Its closed source, and, it needs pretty powerful hardware (Which is why even no MDPI Phone has it yet)
humm. i agree with 3xeno. the only possible way i think is to make an miui theme for theme chooser.containig almost all the graphics of miui. but it will also be a hard task, obtaining miui original icons, resizing, theam building etc.

I've been hoping for this for ages, it'd be great but the phone wont run it
Sent by fire!
Ya i agree with all but i have seen that in galaxy 3 the MIUI rom was ported sucessfully which is also an LDPI and ARM v6 phone.
Is that a full fledged proper MIUI Port? I somehow doubt it. Anyway, you can see the level of activity at the Wildfire Forums yourself to know that even if porting of MIUI was possible, there would be few who would actually do it.
Besides, Galaxy 3 has a GPU, unlike the Wildfire. (Although I must admit I am surprised to see it working on a non HDPI device, I'll have to dig a bit more on it)
I hv seen it thats y i m saying dat . obviously it is not so easy but if devs can give it a try.
Or else one can develop a MIUI theme for theme chooser.
MIUI Themes for Theme Chooser are available. You can refer them here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189723
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102755
Dont forget though, they are 'just' themes.
What 3xeno said.
You could also try the translated tenscent launcher in the android themes section for the full miui feel, or qq launcher which has an app drawer.
But I don't like them cause they don't have many features and are useless lol, not to mention the laaaag, which is why I'm sticking with real miui for now.

u guessed it right, its not a full port. That guy who's a friend of mine (an IITian) has ported the launcher and 9 lockscreen mode only and that too from SGS. Its called MIUIwiz. He edited the following files (framework.jar, services.jar, android.policy.jar, framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk).
If anybody [maybe kevin, man i loved ur gingerblur theme on cm7 ] from ur forum is interested to port the launcher only (which itself is awsum), i can ask akash to give u the source code. but i doubt it will look gud on 125 pixel density.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133407
@3xeno: galaxy3 has FIMG gpu which is samsung's own gpu and they refused us to give the source of FIMG gpu source saying that its their own property. But it has a better pixel density than wildfire.
And Shiv seen the MIUI rom on my defy which is HDPI.

Why stock rom and cm7 together? Stock rom is one of sense 2.1 roms.

cm7 nightly....
I love the cm7 nightly for following solid reasons......
1. It gives super performance on my phone.....
2. Battery is lasting long.....
3. CM Setting interface is superb.....
4. More flexibility.....
5. Nightly updated with new features.......
6. Theme Support...... (Theme Chooser)......
7. Tomorrow and day after tomorrows........
Enjoying CM......
Henry, can u add the .sense Rom in the list?
THANKS!
No, this is for general, If I add .sense, I must add other ROMS as well, now you can see what people like the most, basic android, sense, other stuff, ...
CM 7.2 of course
Ok henry, was a suggestion only
CM7 for it's brilliant feature set and more importantly, blazing speed!
Also (though it doesn't influence my choice), I like seeing 250MB free RAM on CM7 as opposed to 150 on Sense (In fact, right now, it says 297 free!)
would have to be stock at the moment
Bad-Wolf Enhanced. Not released yet though. If I do release it, I'll change the name, and add some stuff.
I second this

Has a Sense camera apk allready been ported to an aosp rom ?

I'm actually on AOKP build8, with Faux kernel, everything is fine, I like the look and feel (but missing the original HTC feeling, would love them to unbloat sense a bit and get to the origins...)
The one big thing missing (for many peoples I guess) is the Camera app...
Now here comes the question : haven't there been sens phones which camera app had been ported to aosp allready (like HTC Desire ?)
If this was possible then, isn't it now ? (while taking in consideration 4.0 is different from 2.X...
I'm just thinking to have a look at Venom (but hey, AOKP will get Jellybean much much faster )
Should I try Venom or is it justwaist of time ? Is there a way for the camera to beThanks for everything

The HTC camera needs the Sense framework, so it's almost impossible to make it work. The only way to have the best of both worlds is to use a sense rom with an aosp theme.
