TP CALIBRATION HTC Wildfire S [Marvel] - HTC Wildfire S

Is anyone able to explain exactly what is going on during the "TP CALIBRATION" phase of a DIAG boot? ("TP CALIBRATION" - is presumably automatic multi-touch Touch Panel calibration?)
A message during the process says place the Wildfire S on a level surface within a couple of seconds for "TP CALIBRATION".
How critical to Touch Panel precise set-up is the "levelness" during that process?

Can anyone help here??

What this does is essentially (as you guessed) calibrate the touch panel. Im not sure if being level affects it, but ibgueas that's just the obvious way to make sure nothing in touching the screen. Put it on a table and let it do it's thing. This is also the solution for people experiencing touch lag when trying to end a call or unlocking the phone after waking.

I presume that the levelness will be quite critical hehe so make sure to place it on a completely flat surface

LED Notification flash - Not working?

I haven't fully tested this issue yet mainly because I've only had the phone for a few days... I wanted to check if anyone else had this problem.
Under Settings -> Sound & Display -> Notification Flash
I have all the options ticked.
In theory, whenever I have a missed call or a SMS or email etc, I should be able to tell that I need to check my phone be a little blinking light in the top right corner off the screen. I just came back to my phone and this LED wasn't blinking but when I turned on the phone, there was a missed call and a SMS.
Other times, it seemed to work fine.
Anyone else noticed this problem?
it only flashes for 5 mins and then stops. There is no way to change this without additional apps.

Oh... How disappointing. Pretty useless imo. Thanks for the info. I wonder if they will fix it. My previous phone, Touch Diamond, had something similar but it never stopped flashing until you looked at your missed calls.
Now that explains things. I tend to look for the led after I've not used the phone for a while. In my pocket or elsewhere. Quite a few times I've seen no flashing but have a notification in the top left. I thought it was another one of those little 'features' we keep finding.
Yeh i discovered this awhile back and it's annoying as hell, i just use a app called Missed Reminder which can be configured to allowed it to keep flashing indefinitely
I was just going to make a post about this. I thought the LED notification wasn't working at all on my Desire, since I've never seen it, but perhaps it had just stopped before I had the chance to catch it, then

What apps are you referring to? It would be nice to be able to have the LED flash longer.
I'm guessing this is to save battery time, I don't know how much power a small LED uses but it surely can't help with the already abysmal battery life
I first thought the LED was located behind the optical trackpad, because the trackball on my Hero could light up. I think the LED-notification is pretty dumb since it's almost invisible when it lights up. The lighting trackball was much much better
This is a known issue. I thought that did not happen in Android, but I guess I was wrong.
If the phone work in Windows Mobile, there are a registry key to let assign values to the options, so they are usable.
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4846399#post4846399
In Android, I have no clue... maybe my info help in any way.
PMoto
It would be nice to be able to change the flash time from the default 5 minutes, or atleast an option for no time limit.
I know it's to help save battery life, but I'm willing to say that the light flashing will use less battery then the back light coming on everytime I'm away from my phone for more then 5 minutes, from me checking to see if I have new messages, email, or missed phone calls.
Same issue with my recently purchased A40.
No blinking at all despite screen flash notification selected.
Hope someone can help

TP2 freezing issue

Hello guys,
first of all, yes, I read all the similar threads, but I don't think that they are like my case...
so .. I'm using my TP2 over a year and a half and it was brand new
the phone is hard-spl-ed and I changed my Roms hundreds of times
my Freezing issue starts about month- month and a half
and it appear when the phone goes in stand-by then i cant drag the unlock button .. to solve it, I have to touch and moving my finger many of times over the whole screen , and at some time it start to work.. it is like my touch screen stops responding.
I'm using mostly Energy roms, but also I'm using the XAndroid versions
and this issue was also when i'm using Android, but the intresting is, when it happens when the phone is not at stand-by the screen moving but right after remove my finger it returns to previous position and this is all the time again until i start to touch and drag over the whole screen
I already known that the issue is not from the Xandroid, because I removed everything , and re-installed clean Energy Rom , and it happens again
It is not and from the Storage card (micro 4GB class 6) because it also happens when i removed the card ...
So can somebody advice me something , what could be the problem, what I can try to do or check...
thank you very much for the assistance
Regards

because what happens with screen protectors is that sometimes the screen itself reads pressure from the screen protector as if your pressing down. and since tp2 isnt multitouch, it thinks your pressing the screen before you actually press it. it happens a lot, sometimes it happens to me. but my screen protector is removable so i just pop it off real quick to release the pressure it creates and boom, much much faster and smoother.
i think i read somewhere you can make your tp2 multitouch, that might help. but ive yet to try it so i cant say.
you can search the forums to find the best way to increase sensitivity, there are many diff ways. heres one. it says hd2 but i think it works for us too
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614781
again, this may not be your issue, its just a possibility because the situation sounded similar to mine

thank you very much for whole the help, i'll test and will write back if not working
I was never thought that the screen protector could be the problem, so thank again
ok. but dont forget to remove the screen protector. if you leave it on, increasing the screen sensitivity will only make the problem worse.

[Q] Screen burn in?

I am beginning to notice some screen burn in along the notification bar, and surprisingly enough, the keyboard keys. Is there any way to clear some of the burn in, or maybe prevent more burning?
Hmm get a new phone? But seriously I've noticed some odd shading on mine and any fix for this would probebly help me.

There are programs designed to fix dead pixels by rapidly turning them on and off; I wonder if you could use the same method to fix this problem. Bump out of curiosity.
Not sure if this counts or will work
But on my old psp I had this problem and I left the screen on a.black image for like six hours and it went away
For AMOLED I'm sure it would hafta be a white screen but it may work Idk

Bump for more ideas?

Display problem

Hi,
Factory reset - done!
Flash Android 2.3 - done!
I had the original Android 2.2 before, so the software is not the reason for my HTC Wildfire display problem.
Display image is moving up/down, the line of notification with signal, battery level..., is going in the middle, bottom of display and so on.... I have a screenshoot and a picture made with a very bad mobile camera, but hope to be enough!
I think few water drops inside 3.5 mm audio jack could be the reason, the warning LED(red one) is not working too.
Had someone the same issue? A way to fix this?

Someone else also had a similar issue. Here is the link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2394674
but not sure if both cases are the same...
Cheers
...menu bar is floating from bottom to top, pushing all icons/options and it is nearly impossible to hit the right icon/option. Also when there is a keyboard, it moves up and down but it always reacts when pressed on position where it should normaly stand.
Thanks! So... I'm not the only one with this issue.
I think the reason for this screen it's because i dropped the phone before (3-4 days), but not noticed this right in that moment...
Anyway, I easy dropped the phone with intention several times recetly and the screen was OK for a day... don't know what can it be...
I'll try to find out how can be this problem fixed in a service and how much have to pay for all this...
After all, it seems my display don't want to turn on anymore.
I turned on my phone and it's working, it's able to receive calls with no problem, digitizer is working too because I can answer by tapping the known part of display where is that button!
I want to buy a new display and replace it. Could be anything else that make my display not turning on?

LG G PRO e980 Touch sensitivity

my phone touch is not as responsive as it should be like my old samsung s3.Anyone would like to tell me how I can increase my phone's touch sensitivity?
Any help would be highly appreciated///
You mean like it's not as responsive? Such as when you have to swipe two three times to accomplish something thwart normally takes one swipe? Go into your developer's option and turn on the option where you can see the colors that responding to your touches. See if everyone you touch the screen that a trail if color follows the movement of your fingers in the screen. I'm trying to figure out if your issue is software or hardware. If it's software, you may need to reinstall the ROM you're using. Else if it's hardware, you may need to replace the digitizer. As for now, you can try clean the screen, and get an iPad compatible stylus, which is more sensitive to the touch than the human fingers, since our fingers are dirty, and they leave dirt and greasy residue on the screen. BTW, how and when did you started to notice that your phone screen was less sensitive?

Thanks for your response.
What do i have to do in developers option Please elaborate if you can?
I recently got this phone so comparing to my s3 I think the touch is a bit laggy. Its not all time but for a mere second like when I play games like subway and temple run at some point the touch lags. Also when my phone is in pocket and I receive a call or text sometimes screen stops responding.
I am currently on G3 optimus g8 rom.One more thing I recently flashed bliss rom 5.0.x.In that rom the touch stops working till I press the power key to lock my phone and then unlock it and it starts working again.
I don't know if this is a rom thing or digitizer?
Any help from you would be nice.

You know, in the developer's options, under input section, there is an option for showing the touches, such as ever time you touch the screen the color will show under your finger, which tells you if every touch you do on the digitizer screen has registered or not. If you get a color response every time you touch, but the command seems to lag, then you may have to flash different ROM. But if color doesn't come up every time you touch the screen, then there may be something wrong with the digitizer. If you purchase a second hand phone from an unknown owner, the digitizer screen may haven been replaced before without you knowing it. Try different ROM first, such as blisspop 3.2 or vanir's newest nightly, which are lp 5.1.1.

Now everytime I touch screen a pink mark shows with the whole led flickers shortly every time I touch that happens.I think the digitizer is quite okay because every time I touch the dot shows with pink flickering. What is your opinion on this?
And yes you are right this is a used phone.
It sounds like your hardware is okay. If the lagging responses are only occurring sporadically, then you may want to think flashing a different ROM the solution. Also, if the digitizer is working, sometimes when the screen is dirty, or if your fingers are wet, that will all cause the touch response to lag. Try using a stylus, and see if that helps. IMO, using a stylus on this phone makes the touch more precise and responsive. Besides the touches being unresponsive, do you notice anything else is lagging, such as when opening up an app?

Thanks again for your time.
I dont see any lags in apps etc.I will try some other rom and see what happens then.
One more thing with this phone is that its camera pics are blurry at the top and bottom and sharp at the centre.it gives a miniature like effect to pics.the focusing is not accurate. It seems that its lens cover has been replaced.Do you think its a hardware fault or maybe dust particles on the inside lens.
Any idea what might be the cause?
Try different camera app, if issue persists, try clean the lens, this phone is easy to take apart.
