Looks good will test out im currently running sense 3.5 by thedereck his but I love miui. Thanks bro

This didn't get to much play for a Saturday, It's probably all of the fans of MIUI that already have some one here porting it over.
Good Luck.

As this was my first build ever I had it being tested by our team all day Friday and got it live here Saturday kinda late. It's going to be updated no later than Friday nights if it can be helped however. Possibly faster depending on work (sometimes I work night shift sometimes day shift) but this is a high maintenance ROM and I'm well aware of it. Being new, I just didn't want to release it early (I had it ready around 9am pacific) only to find out I'd missed something simple in the process, that would have been silly.

Just so you know there is already a supported miui thread for our device made by thederekjay who is supported by miui.us and my friend he is a beast he makes his own kernels for miui releases every Friday which have amazing speed and crazy battery life
So just a heads up if your looking to be a miui dev you got a lot of work to do

Very true but I was just letting him know he has some big competition
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium

Its no competition, I don't know about kernels and this is my first ROM for release. Also, he gets his from miui.us and I get mine from MIUIAndroid so... two different starting points. I hope he is successful in his aims as I hope I'm successful in mine. My aim is to create ROMs I enjoy for everyone to use if they wish.

Its based off nightly 205, so is it 2.3.7? And, what sets this apart from tdj's port? Im not troll, just want to hear it from you. You seem to be only one that has flashed it. Is it having the same widget issues as tdj's?

The base comes from China, there's only one place both get it from, you can look through the original release and tell they're exactly the same. Either way good luck with your end of it as it all depends on two factors, how well you port it and how good the base is prior to you getting it.

Though you are correct that they come from the same Chinese build, MIUIAndroid and miui.us do differ in minor ways. I'm fairly new to MIUI myself and haven't used the miui.us build other than briefly. I am going to be exploring these differences over time. Honestly, a major portion of the reason I chose MIUIAndroid's version of the port is because I know Option94 was the main guy at miui.us on the glacier before he changed to an iPhone and Derek asked if he could take over. I wanted to leave that alone and do it different.

Well I'm glad that you feel up to the project and hopefully you learn from it, most of the roms out are based off of official builds direct from HTC or other and true development exists from scratch so it's kind of interesting that anyone considers them selves a "developer" so to say when modifying or porting over an official base to another device, it's a good starting point in understanding how everything works and taking on the challenge of using your spare time and time away from private responsibilities of work and family to better educate your self on something that will benefit you and others somewhere down the road.

the truth is you are correct, but at the same time you are incorrect... now the main difference is in the strings. "strings" are what is changed for language. for example all the text you read and see are referenced to the strings. when you decompile and .apk there is a file within called strings.xml located in /res/values/ for english you would create /res/values-en/ the -en denotes english.. so on so forth... so although they come from the same place_MIUI China) there is a much different process in the preparation of each rom. MIUI.us uses a buildbot created by the team thats on their server to do the port and inject all correct strings... I have also wrote a buildbot script wich is very detailed and automates the entire process so i can get the entire thing done in about 5min uploaded with out having to do anything... The truth is that i welcome all new dev, but there are few things that you will need some coding experience to fix... good luck on your port...

I don't know anyone that lasts very long in android if they look at it or do it for competition, that's where trouble starts. most do it to learn, as a hobby, for fun and to help others. you don't get into android to compete, that's where a lot of things turned south. we are not and never will be here to compete and hopefully no one will take it that way. we get to learning and make a lot friends and meet really good people witch really makes android what it is. I only hope others can let go of personal grudges and take a wider veiw of why most devs and themers do what they do. and let the past be the past. we are here to create not destroy. to learn not deter, and to help and share as others have done with us to get us where we are today. any way I hope we can all move past any animosity and and get back to the real reasons anyone comes to android.

I rooted my nephew phone today n ran this Rom on it for him I myself played with it a little before heading back to tdj 3.5 so far no issues to report your Rom is smooth n my nephew can't put his phone down lol thanks bro

Another MIUI ROM going to give it a shot

I am lanternslight dude, lol. I was just busy with my 13.5 hour work day plus wife and two kids Honestly after last night I'm tired lol. But, I don't use Widgets, so I'll set one right now, and check it in a few hours when I wake up. I'll let you know. I've only been in Derek's thread once or twice so I don't know what the story here is. Can you give me some details please?
Thanks to those positive comments, you guys rock!
Edit: hahahahaha that's funny, I thought I was in rootzwiki. This why it's better to keep everything localized at ACS so far as q&a and support type stuff goes, I use forum runner to keep plates spinning while I'm not at the computer (this is 95% done mobile hahaha. Anyhow, I'll post the results at ACS in the am. Goodnight guys and thanks for the feedback!
Edit 2: I have Plume, the clock, and setcpu set as widgets. Clock keeps good time and setcpu updates every 5 seconds, like I've set it to. Plume I'm not sure of.
Wanted to update you one last tome, I hate keeping you guys waiting.
@the person asking about Android version. Desire HD build was 2.3.5, CM7 build was 2.3.7. Build prop for this is 2.3.5 but I set that... I've been trying to get a good answer on how to no BS answer the question, but have been mobile on 2g all day. Best answer ATM is that this is 2.3.5. But I'm no 100% there. I'll let you know soonish.

Quick Update for FV 1.3.1
Ok guys I can confirm the Tethering FC issue is fixed and working.
GPS is ok so far, fresh boot, launched GPS Status and it was almost instantly aware of 10 sats. Bear in mind this is indoors. Took a minute or two to get a lock where it locked 8 sats out of 11, with a 16 metre margin for error.
I'm going to keep testing this and leave the phone running stuff overnight with logcat running in case there's any weird issues.
FroydVillain 1.3.2 will hit some time tomorrow.
Thanks for your patience, sorry about the lame duck release. I'm off to flog myself silly with spaghetti. If you don't think that's harsh, you've never eaten my grandmother's spaghetti.
KNOWN ISSUES - FroydVillain 1.3.1 - KNOWN ISSUES
Selecting Tethering from Wireless menu causes an FC. - FIXED in 1.3.2
GPS -still- having some issues. - HOPEFULLY FIXED in 1.3.2, still testing.
FroydVillain 1.3.2 will hit either later today or tomorrow folks. It will be another full ROM, I couldn't avoid it sadly. Someone upstream of me decided it'd be a good idea to stop librpc being built against libgps which is the root of a lot of the GPS problems (not all the problems, there were others that have been fixed as well).
So keep those backups current. I'll be adhering to the poll and putting my preferred liblights back in place as well folks. Thanks for voting.

Ah the life of the poor ROM. It can be as awesome as the very latest batch of AwesomeSauce (tm) but without a home it may as well just be a kanged knock off that nobody wants.
*Dusts off hands* Well I guess we should explain the delay in release and what the hell happened to villainrom.co.uk.
Aliens. That's right, aliens. Since I cannot fathom any other reason that a whole site hosting cluster would fall over in a giant crumpled heap and take every single backup with it that isn't older than dirt, my only explanation is, aliens.
It would appear they blitzed through the datacentre with an EMP larger than the battery on Jeremy Goh's phone* and took out everything. Now our server is back however it's suffering a rather serious bout of amnesia. It knows not of England's dismal display at the world cup**, it doesn't even know I've joined the Villain team yet. It appears to be only dimly aware of FroydVillain in that it feels it might be "coming soon".

Right before we go into what's included and what's new, let's get the thanks out of the way.
Thanks to:
CyanogenMod team for keeping a step ahead of the original AOSP tree.
Alankila for his usual contributions (DSPManager/CPUSpeed).
Mikebeecham for the awesome artwork and wallpapers.
mpgrimes for his awesome wallpaper contributions.
markitoxs for helping me flesh out the wallpaper collection with some nice photos/abstract art.
Everyone who saw fit to donate recently, your generosity is greatly recognised, appreciated but never required.
Everyone who whined about issues in the last releases. I only fix stuff to make you shut the hell up yanno.
All the folks on IRC who downloaded the pre release and helped to test.
Alex24 for all his work with theming, thanks to him we'll be able to have themes good to go with each release really soon.
NikuelTrasgu for the original bootanimation and Alex24 for adding in the loading part.
My family, my friends, who all contributed to me receiving this prestig.....oh oops wrong speech.
SO what's new in 1.3.0? How can I possibly top 1.2.1? How can I justify making you all wipe your phones again?
Well it turns out 1.2.1 can easily be topped just by making GPS work properly. OH oh...there we go, 1.2.1 topped, GPS works properly.
GPS working correctly in this release without random reboots.
This had better be well received because I ran 15 individual tests of a fresh boot, get a lock on and then rebooting to test first boot lock ons. 15 out of 15 locked on with the usual varying lock on times with no random "GAARRGH" from the phone as it committed suicide.
That's right, we've eliminated the Emo factor of FroydVillain 1.2.x. Emos just don't have what it takes to help you navigate yourself around accurately. Too much effort you see. So we've given it a haircut, spruced up the clothes, washed all the make up off and given it a good stern kick in the arse with a smidgen of framework fixes to turn it into a fully functional member of the navigation society. Hurrah.
Wired Tethering works AT LAST.
Leave it to HTC to make a kernel that's about as future proof as a car made entirely out of tissue paper. From now on HTC kernel "devs" will be permanently thought of by me as evil and mad Jaffar types (Google Disney's Aladdin) with a child's chemistry set bubbling and frothing around them as they set about scuppering any possibly future useful feature just to make us buy newer phones because we can't get Froyo to work properly. Well screw you HTC! Muhahahaha.
Erm, where was I? Oh yeah. Wired tethering works from the Wireless & networks menu. You'll still need an app for the wireless tethering though since the wifi drivers don't support the Froyo method. Yet.
New wallpaper collection.
You can tell I've had extra time on my hands when I start putting things in that people have complained about since FroydVillain 1.0.0 that I consider incredibly low priority. We've brought back the original wallpapers that Nathan put in place and then some. If anyone dares complain about not liking one or all of them I will find out where you live and pay a visit with a TENS machine with the name of your testicles on it.
CMParts makes a return with a different face.
As the changelog for my fork of CMParts states, I've carried out a "Shameful SHAMEFUL rebranding for the Villain project". In the menu it's there as Villain Settings. This satisfies my want for aesthetics and your want of having features from other ROMs all in one ROM. Well maybe not the last part but you've at least got a tool that lets you play around with things you don't understand. Incidentally compcache isn't included in any Froyd release and never will be, so that option will continue to have no effect. It's also worth noting the Battery Percentage setting works with themes too. Hooray.
Japanese keyboard support.
Enough said really. OpenWNN keyboard is included. Pinyin would have been too, however it sucks goats and insists on being the default keyboard and promptly crashing. This is being worked on but for now anyone wanting this keyboard will have to grab it from the market.
More kernels.
The USB tethering fix was a kernel patch so with that and another few minor bug fixes a new batch of Nindroid 2.2 kernels are available. The included in ROM kernel is already up to date. You're welcome.
Better sleep states.
This kernel allows for a deeper sleep when idle not just when the phone is suspended. It should provide a bit of a boost to battery life.
ADW Launcher included alongside LauncherPro.
Since there are weirdos out there who don't consider LauncherPro to be the best launcher since before LauncherPro was invented, you can use ADW. No I will not include more launchers in the future. Two and that's your lot. If you want more ask Santa Claus. Or go to the Market. You might get more luck with the latter. Usually.
Vlingo included.
I don't want to hear whines about including apps people are just going to remove. If you decide to remove Vlingo you might as well remove yourself from the genepool too. Vlingo is awesome. It is awesomely awesome. Vlingo is so awesome I have to brace myself just prior to launching the app. It makes Google's voice recognition look like a partially deaf guy with a hearing aid being affected by radiation from Jeremy Goh's battery semi portable power station.
Themed HTC IME mod.
If you don't like it delete HTC_IME_themed.apk from /system and push the original HTC IME mod. Or theme your own. I don't care. Called it developer's privelage, I included a keyboard that I think looks sweet. It's worth noting that voice input works on this version.
WaveSecure included.
Anyone who doesn't use/like it feel free to delete it but for people with a WaveSecure account it's much better to have it loaded in /system/app. So it is. Yay.
Notification lights improved.
They're still not perfect but the battery LED flashes now for notifications. I personally preferred the 1.2.1 method of jogball for everything and LED for battery. Apparently you lot didn't.
The only bugs I've really noticed with it, is it'll often flash both the LED and the trackball as if it's just detected a nuclear attack. The other bug is if you boot with USB connected and then disconnect USB the LED turns red. This goes away at some point, but I can't remember if it's replugging the USB that makes it go away or a notification turns up while off power. But yeah, thems the breaks.

Removing ADW launcher
Hi
First of all, thanks for the great VillainROM releases, especially FroydVillain.
Just installed 1.3.0, and just to be sure:
To remove ADW Launcher, I just do an adb shell, go to /system/app and remove ADWLauncher.apk?
Edit:
And same approach with the WaveSecure?

And same approach with the WaveSecure?

FroydVillain 1.4.0 "Smoother than a cashmere codpiece"
Well ****. You're probably getting tired of me saying every new release is awesomely awesome and fast and stuff.
Well tough tits because FroydVillain 1.4.0 is the fastest and smoothest FroydVillain TO DATE. Smoother than a buttered banister. For those who don't know what a banister is, it's a ****ing handrail.
Hell this release even contains boobs. Oh yes. Boobs. No penises though. Not gay. Honest.
Never let it be said that I let a small issue such as an entire website crash slow down my development work. Oh no. By the way my missus would like me to pass on that you can all go to hell and die slowly in a fire. She'd also like to ask for her other half back.
Sheesh. Anyone would think I only half listen to her as I rattle off on my keyboard. Oh, wait. Woops.
SOOO what has Uncle Ninpo kicked Santa out of bed to bring you today? Well there's a bit of a story to this. Bet you saw that comin...
How can I best intro this? Oh yeah.

Seriously. There I was cocking about with Webkit (DA FING THAT MAKES INTERWEB PAGES APPEAR for the newbs) and I somehow managed to make my way over to...DALVIK. Yes, that dark and mysterious place that many have gone and few have returned from alive. Dalvik, the heart that beats for Android, the second most important thing after the kernel.
Dalvik has eaten many a developer alive and spat them out in a gibbering wreck. It turns java fans over to .NET, it's even made a few go and buy an iphone. This is not a place for the faint hearted.
**** it, I thought and dived straight in. This is where the WTF/min picture comes in. Someone on the AOSP project -really- hates MSM7200A class phones. If it hasn't clicked, your Hero is an MSM7200A class phone. That's the processor/chipset inside. Google hate it, just FYI and so do HTC.
Well I ****ing don't so I grabbed Dalvik by the short and curlies and informed it that it was going to play nice with our Heros from now on. Which brings us to FroydVillain 1.4.0. What was supposed to be a quick fix to Tethering and GPS turned into an epic and bloody battle with Dalvik. I won.
I also got JIT enabled in the JSC rendering engine for the browser too, which considering that was my original goal, I'd call that a result.
SO what's new?
Well.
Completely new Dalvik build...
...the likes of which you won't see in any other ROM until someone either looks at my github and yanks it all, or they accept the changes upstream. Given that I think upstream consider me as some madcap insane scientist type person, I wouldn't hold out too much hope on the latter. Knowing these forums though, the former will probably happen pretty soon. Wibble.
So er yeah where was I? Oh right, new Dalvik build. Instead of being a giant lazy bastard when it comes to the Hero, Dalvik is now painfully aware of the processor our phone uses and how best to make use of it. Dalvik is already losing weight. It's about time, the fat ****er. Last time I ran into something this badly built it collapsed on my head when I slammed a door. Never did see any money back from that house.
JIT enabled in the browser engine
This was actually enabled in 1.3.x but I forgot to mention it. Plus I wasn't sure if it was really working because online benchmarks suck nut. It's at least as fast as the Eclair V8 engine though, which is good. Unfortunately the V8 engine on Froyo has been snatched away from us because it has armv7 code hardcoded in. Bastards.
AndChat makes a return
Because I don't use it, I kept forgetting to include this alright-ish-sorta IRC app (hey at least it's free) in FroydVillain builds after we got the go ahead from the dev. If you ask me, and I'm sure you won't, Android IRC is one of the best paid apps on the market.
New kernels again
Oh yes new kernels again. For those ITCHING for me to trip up over the GPL, tough ****, bang up to date source is in my signature. Muhahahaha.
This one has some IP improvements that apparently make Gapps play nicer. Given how badly Gapps have been playing lately, we could use some niceness from them. It was the kernel this time Google, next time it'll be pitchforks on your lawn.
Oh I've also made a set of kernels that turn off the bootanimation. Why? Does a 40 second boot time from power on to lockscren sound attractive? I thought it might. That's why.
More wallpapers
Since I added in a Villain wallpaper collection I've been hammered with suggestions for it. The good ones are in. The ones that had me looking for a bottle of bleach and a cotton swap are out. You're welcome.
Incidentally, speaking of eye candy, if you want a pure visual orgasm with the Hero, install Alex24's Galaxy theme+fonts and select the 5th wallpaper from the Wallpaper app (the blue FV wallpaper). Then get off your cheap arse and buy Beautiful Widgets and use the NeonTransparent clock skin with the Simply Beautiful weather skin.
If you disagree that they're not the most awesomely awesome things ever to grace your home launcher screen, you're clearly a moron and should sit in the corner away from everyone else.
I mean come on:
After popular demand, notification lights...
...work as you voted for. We're back to jogball for everything, LED for *****ing about battery status. Hurrah.
GPS really works, this time.
I promise. Almost two days testing this **** and it's been fine. So many reboots. My poor Hero. It thinks it's running Windows now. I've had to give it a completely blue theme to calm it down.
DSP Manager updates
****ed if I know what changed. The last time I asked alankila about DSP Manager he said some stuff that had me running and screaming for my happy place. He is one scarily smart bastard. It could have been satanic chants or it could have been mathematical formulae for how DSP Manager works. Who knows, I certainly don't. All I do know is my Hero has gone from sounding like trash, to outputting Dire Straits - Money for Nothing out in decent quality out of my car stereo. Score.
Woops, almost forgot...
Thanks to:
Cyanogenmod. Without their help and their repo, I wouldn't be the gibbering mad developer cackling over the code that I am today.
Alex24 for his theming work.
Mikebeecham and mpgrimes for some stellar wallpapers.
All my IRC minions for testing.
NikuelTrasgu for the original bootanimation and Alex24 again for making it smoother and loop for Froyo.
Anyone I forgot, just to avoid bleating. Imagine your name is here in a giant red font, flashing your sexiness per minute.
So, onto the links I guess.
FroydVillain-1.4.0-release download.
Themes:
Alex24's awesomesexysauce Galaxy theme.
Now, for those who cannot help but beg and plead that they don't want to have to wipe, we've had good reports from a few testers after just flashing the ROM. So give it a try. However if you want to report problems I suggest you nandroid and do a completely clean install before reporting those problems. No need to wipe dalvik, the install script does that for you. Aren't I nice?
I know these release notes will come as a bit of a disappointment to some, but come on folks this is the third release in what, a week? Lol. I need more breathing space to recharge my creative batteries. Hopefully this release will be stable enough for you all to give me that breather.
Enjoy.
EDIT: Woops forgot aNetshare for wifi tethering. Attached.
I'm soo gonna Flash it before i go to bed!! Thanks again!! Appreciate!

[ROM]VillainROMZ & SuperVillainZ for the G2/DZ - Sense UI & Vanilla Style!

WELCOME TO VILLAINROM
This bit’s the introduction. If you’re not interested in who we are, or how we got here, or are of the TL;DR mentality, then skip this entire section.
I HAVE INTERNET AT LAST! 5 weeks without it, and I'm officially back online, today! woop! Thank you for your patience. We wanted to make sure this ROM was right for you all prior to release! As many of you have noticed, I’m well and truly back in to the world of custom roms, after a few months break over the summer. Believe me, it was well and truly needed. It’s great to be back though.
If you’ve come from a HTC Hero/Desire or Magic, the chances are, you’ve heard of VillainROM. For that reason, I won’t go into who we are in too much detail. Sufficed to say, we’re a hardworking team of collaborative developers, working towards a common goal; to improve on manufacturer’s versions of the Android OS’ and to provide alternative, AOSP versions. We will no longer be providing 'experimental beta' releases, but instead, only releasing ROMs we deem to be 'final'.
So... to the ROM!
Before I do, though, I’d just like to take this opportunity to offer a huge message of gratitude to the team at #g2root. Scotty2 and the team worked their arses off for weeks on this, and together they achieved what HTC attempted to make impossible. We all owe them a huge debt of thanks.
This thread will house two ROMs; each of which will have its own thread on VillainROM.co.uk, but it's more manageable in the one here. Because of this, I'd appreciate it if you could post the name of the ROM you're using prior to reporting a problem/giving praise. These ROMs follow the successful release of Villision last week, which was a combined effort between HomerSP and myself. Homer is a legend, and he's worked with me again on this one. Once labelled 'The Hotfix King', he has been known to de-odex sleeping frogs and some pretty large haddock. I thank him, once again for his help and support.
VillainROMZ for the G2/Z is a stock Sense UI build, with a few VillainROM tweaks. The more obvious tweak is that the reboot and reboot to recovery options have been added, but I assure you, more changes have been made to the 'back end', so you should see an improvement on performance.
SuperVillainZ on the other hand, is one of VillainROM's specialities. It was, some time ago, one of the most popular ROMs on the Hero, and offers a combination of SenseUI and vanilla. It's entirely based on VillainROMZ, with HomerSP's power menu tweak and the tweaks of VillainROM, however, Rosie, and Sense UI widgets have been removed from the build. In addition, the age old problem of the ALARM CLOCK + LOCKSCREEN has been FIXED, by the very same, fish de-odexing legend, HomerSP. That means, you can use your HTC alarm, with your vanilla lockscreen... at last.
SuperVillainZ offers users what are, in our opinion the best bits of Sense UI (apps), with a Vanilla-like feel. The huge reduction in /system size and applications obviously makes it run that little bit better, too. This is the perfect ROM for those that can't decide... to sense, or not to sense.
The ever growing list of credits - Thanks to: HomerSP, Pulser, Cyanogen, Scotty, #g2root, Ninpo, Kendon, Mike Coffee, Lenny, Shen, Jeremy, Paul (Modaco), Richard Trip, MikeBeecham, RaiderX, lox, benhaam, strange Chinese guy whose name I don’t know but regularly places leaks in my dropbox, ALL VILLAINROM users, and in advance to anyone who downloads any of these ROMs, supports us, or leaves feedback.
/End introduction.

Hey, I downloaded the SuperVillain rom but the homescreen does not look anything like the picture posted? I'm looking for the Sense-style Clock/Weather but cannot seem to find it.
Very nice ROM.....
I have already downloaded and installed it successfully. So far I have not found any serious bugs yet.
One question : Is there such function that I can enlarge the system font size by this ROM? If yes, how to do it?
Thanks again for your good work!

Says in the OP - that's the new Fancy Widget.
I've been looking forward to this. Villivision ran beautifully but I just can't deal with the inferior dialler, clock and camera apps. Or the general ugliness of the statusbar and its icons. I hope those bits have been carried over.
Question - is there a CIFS module included in this?
Nice ROM
Nice ROM
I have two question
1. after flash this rom and first booted(no install any APK)
in setting/SD & Phone Storage
Available space only 0.88G that's normal right?
2. i want to restore my setting and apk using Titanium Backup
it told me not "rooted"
this ROM not included rooted?
Thank you for your response
Props for a solid stock ROM i.e VillainROMZ
So far it seems to be running smooth as

SuperVillainZ is best for people (like me) who love HTC's apps (that can't be directly replaced like wifi hotspot, flashlight, dialer etc) but are not a massive fan of rosie as a launcher.
I am sticking with sense for now, until I get bored of "new sense" but SuperVillain is usually my rom of choice.
Just to make it easier for you here are direct links to the bug tracking forum on VR.
Please use the correct one

Edit: xda link fixed, stupidly linked to the wrong rom
Flashed successfully. Everything seems to run in order and nothing out of the ordinary noticed. However, its quite late and I need some sleep, but I will report back if anything comes up. Thanks for the ROM. It's a great escape from the Rosie launcher while having the apps and features that came with Sense.
Not wishing to sound rude (though it probably will do), why do people have to specifically go to another website to log a bug for this ROM ? That's not how support for ROMs normally works on XDA, is it ? e.g. cyanogen doesn't tell you to go and log a formal bug report whenever you find an issue.

Hi, this thread is to put all the roms in one spot for easy to find and easy access at all times. I will not have them in particular order besides popularity for the most part. I'm doing this to help and keep clutter to a minimum in Gerneal and q&a. Try to eliminate the "best rom" threads or "what's wrong with this rom" type threads... I do not own this phone, so I'm strictly going off what I read in the thread, and users opinions. I do own the S III and know my roms pretty well, even most of your devs haha. I'm more than willing to listen and take advice to thoughts and opinions on how to make this thread better and help provide service to you guys, just comment and let me know Now lets get this started.
I will update this as often as possible maybe once a week with updates and edits, or any thoughts that I like. might be more might be less.
Touchwiz Roms
This will not have the full the list of features you can read the OP for that, these have the ones I noticed that caught my eye and will make a good reason for the rom to be noticed to me at least.
WICKED™ Deviant Development
I'm reading a lot of user error, meaning the rom is Wicked Awesome as usual. I suggest reading before flashing and all should be gravy if you do so mainly the difference in bloated and de-bloated versions.
Features;
Menu to Kill
Many tweaks for battery and speed
Mms Tweaks
Themed SystemUI (white)
MMS Over Wifi
✫★✫ INFAMOUS S4™ ✫★✫
This rom is a solid rom, custom built in kernel by the dev himself.
Features
Menu to kill
AOSP Browser with native sync
Faux Sound support and built in fast charge via stock kernel.
☆ DARTHSTALKER S4 ☆
This rom is great and is worked on heavily to have some awesome features
Features:
Volume Boosting Sound Hack
Unlimited Contacts Joining
Unlimited SMS Recipient Limit
Messaging App Screen On/Off Toggle
Device Status Info "Official" Instead Of "Custom" Mod
Modified Stock Camera App With Disabled Camera/Camcorder "Low Battery"
"Can't Use Flash"
"Unable To Start While In A Call" Alerts So Now You Can Use Flash/Camera/Camcorder Even When Your Phone's Battery Is Running Low Or During A Phone Call
Use The Camera To Take Pictures While On A Call
I had to hide that cause it was that huge lol. I'm not reading too much with issue besides user stuff and not reading the thread as I've already solved a couple if they popped up on my end and they're not problems, just different preference!!
Death Star
Deviant Themer now getting his hands a little deeper into it . Delivering a themed rom.
Features
Themed in blue
Centered Clock
Battery Tweaks & UI Tweaks
CRT off mod
Star Wars Sounds in UI
WarpDrive
Start of a rom with potential. Elesbb definitely has his foot in the door already, great to see him being more active in the forums
Features
Completely user-end customization
Screen on toggle for SMS notifications
Native tethering
Call recording
Apollyon Virgin Theme
This seems like a great start to a neat rom, has an AOSP look to it.
Features
It basically has a the basics and a lot of battery and speed tweaks, so far.
~Frosty Jellybean S4~
DJ did some great work for the S III. Seems a lot of people like the rom and are happy it does have an issue with status bar it seems here is the post with image of issue not sure if t hat was just that person or an all around issue so read the thread.

Ink Effect
Native tethering
Disabled Slideshow for single picture message
Modified Stock-MDL
This is your basic stock modified rom, with root.
Features
Deviant kernel
Deodexed
Extended power menu
Working Init.d
Official STOCK firmware collection for Galaxy S4
These are your basic official stock firmwares
ORIGINALAOSP & AOKP & PA Roms
These are the roms that aren't built from a Touchwiz base. These are Nexus style roms with added stuff to make them their own roms. Some might be pure some might be packed with features. For the most part these will all contain similar major bugs... for example Camera, Bluetooth, Audio, GPS. Just look for the main post and more so look at the last 5-10 pages of rom threads latest release. So if the rom was released 6-1-13 look back at the release and pages forward for bugs.
Things broken across the board
Headphone calls audio
CM Nightlys
These are the nightlys I'm putting this here mainly cause they are from the official source, couldn't tell you why CM or a team member isn't opening a thread for the OG dev section for the forum but, it it is what it is for now. CM is well CM, the nightlys are a constant build that is made nightly for users to get their fix. Some things will be broken somethings will be fixed and than others will break... its a game, everyonce monthISH you'll get a milestone which is a mid-development stable build, there will be RCs which are Release Cantidates pretty close to stable if not stable, and then there is stable, rare but you'll see them, and just cause it is stable to someone doesn't make it stable for you so be aware naturally .
Features
It's CyanogenMod it has the essentials but not all the quirks like AOKP or PA, but it will not have their issues either
ParanoidAndroid 3.60 - Hello Halo
This is official Paranoid Android, it has HALO, if you don't know what it is, it's as close to Multi-Window you are going to get. Notificcation in drawer but on full screen game or movie? Halo will allow you to respond without issues. Bugs...tablet ui and phablet ui are borked on all xxhdpi device.
Features
HALO notifications
MultiWindow integrated
DashClock integrated
Halo Beta app integrated
PIE
QuickSettings
Task650 AOKP
Task is one hall of a Dev and takes so much time to get his builds up and his own kernels for the most part. His work on the SIII is great, and you're all luchy he is posting his builds for you on here. He is straight AOKP nothing less, maybe more!
Everything is reported to be working under my readings, let me know if I'm wrong, except the exceptions of course.
SlimBean
SlimBean is a great rom, it has been the beginning of many great roms as well, it has minor issues as all these AOSP roms seem to for now.
Features
The Real Dark Slim
Notification drawer Shortcuts
Full hardware key rebinding!
SlimCenter
OFFICIAL NIGHTLIES PAC-ROM
This is an all in one rom AOKP & CM & PA.
Features
PA Hybrid settings
Rom control
AOKP Ribbon
PIE
HALO Very soon if it builds properly
AOSP & AOKP & PA Roms

AOKP/CM10.1/PA ReVolt JB
This is CM & AOKP & PA all in one... Read thread for issues as I'm typing this (6-11-13) camera and voice calls are broken, should be fixed very soon though.
Features
ROM Control Features
Hybrid Engine|Paranoid Preferences
Per-App-DPI
Navigation Bar Color
Option to select Saving Location in Camera
AOKP Ribbons
Lock Screen Shortcuts
Illusion
This is a Root-Box Base with AOKP, Paranoid Android, SLIM, TeamBaked, CyanogenMod stuff also Camera is a little weird with resolution (6-11-13) and Headphone Jack and others too I'm sure as it's early in the dev game for this phone, and the fact that Ramsay is blind devving at the moment, til he gets the device.
Features
Illusion settings
Dark UI
Hybrid Settings
Per-App DPI Settings
Rom Control
Custom Hardware Keys
Notification Drawer Options
Power sound on plug-in/plug-out
Custom Lockscreen Sliders & Shortcuts

Features
Themeable MMS app
Themeable boot animation
Font Theming
OTA updater
Support for complex unlock gestures
Bazooka Launcher
MysteriousROMS BIONIC
AOKP?? I'm not sure what this all has as the OP is very unclear to what features are add ons are there or what doesn't work since it has no real feedback. DL and install at your own discretion.
You got yourself an S4? Nice bro! Hope you like it! I love mine!!
He said he doesn't have an s4 lol and these thread is a very good idea

Thread cleaned... and thank you op for doing this on your day off (and for free I might add) to help people who need it... BTW for those not in the know... none of us here at XDA get paid... we do this to make our devices better, share and help each other...
Thanks given. Can anyone explain to me why CM 10.1 is a) posted in the general section instead of original development and b) not on this list. In the CM thread the explanation made little sense to me. It appears to be an official build. Thanks in advance.
Shout out to my bro! This thread will definitely eliminate all the cluster we got in these threads. Thanks a lot mt3g!
I'll help you in keeping this thread up to date.

Added Cm nightly with a little detail to it. Will get more in depth tomorrow or asap. My main guess on why it isn't in OG Dev section yet, is cause they want it more stable before an official release so the thread doesn't get hammered with negativity, just a thought though.
I believe the reason it is posted in general and not original is because someone made the thread as a sort of FYI, cm10.1 is here. I believe the person who is actually maintaining it just hasn't made his own thread in our forum, thats not to say that someone will eventually. I think he is too busy and important Lol. Oh well. I may be way off base too. Idkk

Love it!
Great job putting together this summary of current Roms.
Just a couple ideas..
1. This should certainly be sticky in either this or a dev section if it is well maintained.
2. If you would like help from those of us w/S4's testing these Roms, it could also be a good idea to throw this info into an excel sheet on google docs where people can add lists of bugs to report for each release and help to update information as it comes out. (All can be subject to OP approval of course)
Consolidation can be very helpful with the right amount of collaboration.
Thanks for this!

The main maintainer of the Galaxy S4 CM10.1 is Cyanogen/Steve Kondik himself.

I have mine in the s3 stickied and up to date, no excel spreadsheet since I can test and play and write up issues. It is a nice idea though for sure, I'll look into it more when I get time.

I thought that was the case which is why I figured they were waiting til they get an RC to put out to start a thread.

I was also thinking I would add confirmed ROMs that work on the T-mo S4, since I know some other carriers will work, with missing features like WiFi calling of course.

I think this is a good idea. Some people don't wanna venture out and try it unless they know someone else has tried it. If you do that you may want to link to the thread explaining the process of flashing some other carriers ROMs.

That's the main reason I'm hesitant to do so. Some builders have in their updater script for their specific device and I'm not going and changing the updater-script on all of them lol. We'll see how helpful people are and if so I'll jump on things too to do what I can.

[ROM][AOSP] [Nightly/Release] CarbonRom JB [jflteatt/jflteusc]

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Okay 1 word Wow! I run Carbon my infuse and I've always loved it. I've been running Noattch's Mint TW ROM since I got my phone on June 1st it is imo the best TW ROM by far. I have been hesitant switching to a aosp ROM because even though the Samsung features are a bit gimmicky they are still pretty cool. I use cross breeder and ktoonzs with mint and it ran pretty damn good! But I decided to go aosp yesterday and since Carbon Team are some of the most dedicated talented devs on Xda They were the first I chose and damn it it was a great choice (if I do say so myself). I'm running night lies with ktoonz and crossbreeder and pardon my French but holy **** dicks! This is so buttery so crisp so responsive it has not even been 24 hours and I'm already over missing the Samsung toys. TEAM CARBON!!! THANK YOU!!

Great rom, is this the latest 3.68 ?
Ran Carbon on my S3 and it was the best ROM I ever had. I want this super bad. Couple question, though: does the IR blaster work on this? Where is the link for GAPPS?
Was the working IR merged into this?

Not yet, at least as of 0721 nightly. Last I heard they were waiting for the patch to become more stable, but I forget where I read there etc.

recommended Gapps is: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
iirc it shows which one to use in Goomanager too.

Aosp is volume down + power for screenshot, while TW is power and home combo.
Change lock screen wallpaper by going to system settings --> carbon --> interface --> lockcreen background --> select custom image
