i have HTC evo 4g tablet sprint edition
suddenly the htc can't reboot normally
he reboot until 4g sign appear then goes to restart again
i tried to recover it by cmd and every command i tried it gave me the device not found
also i tried replace PC36IMG.zip, PG41IMG.zip, PG41DIAG.zip on the sdcard and reboot in bootloader he gave me "no image or wrong image"
please help me to start it again normally
Thanx in advance.
I think your looking in the wrong place.. this is only for the EVO 4g phone.. there should be a completely differant section for your specific device..

Well, you wouldn't find it on the Evo 4G forum, sorry. It is a completely different device. PC36IMG.zip would be unique for the Evo 4G phone. The unit number for the Evo 4G unit is PC36100, Evo 3D is PG-something. So it wild be something different for the Evo View

I have a Evo rooted with the new HBOOT 2.002 method and lost my 4g completely how do I get it back there has to be a way please someone with knowledge help me
And yes my RSA keys are tossed I believe I am currently running a rom that doesnt have 4g anyway ...Ultimate Droid 2.3 but will flash to another Rom with working 4g If I can fix
Isn't that one of the down sides of flashing the new hboot? I believe in the post is states that hboot will and can delete your keys if you use a recovery such as clockwork. As to a fix I am not sure, haha prob when cyanogen mod team codes it from scratch.

Also look at the q/a in the post for hboot. It tells u things to try if 4g is possibly broken and how to fix it. Although it sounds as If u tried other roms with no luck, and if you used a recovery that wasn't in the post u might be **** out of luck. Id do the key test under the post and ask in the hboot post itself. Worst case, u could unroot using the guide and take it into sprint saying your 4g isn't working. I belive from other posts if it is unrooted and 4g isn't working then Sprint will give you a replacement for free if the techs cannot fix the problem.
Hope everything works out for you.

Hi guys, I just got an Evo that will Boot up to saying "HTC EVO 4g" on the white screen, then "evo 4g" with the Android caracter, then Says "Droid" with the droid voice... after that it gets stuck in loop.... specifics are below
NO FACTORY SD Card in it... Though I have a 16gb micro sd i can put in it.
I can boot into where I see this info.
SUPERSONIC EVT2-2 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.79.0000
MICROP-041f
TOUCH PANEL-AMTEL224_16ab
RADIO-1.39.00.04.26
Apr 14 2010, 15:41:34
showing these options below that
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB
I'm sure there are probably files that are needed to be on the SD card that it uses to boot...
What do I need to do, or what files do I need?
Thanks in advance!
My friend they are going to tell you that you posted in the wrong area for one but honestly if you use Google you will find out what to do.. a few options... Google my friend Google

if you have a sd card with a backup on it you can go into recovery and load the most recent backup!
actually hold up!
download myn warn 2.2 rls5 on your pc
and then xfer it to the sd card!!!
and then boot into recovery and select install from sd
and then goto download and select myn
Edit; i didnt even notice this was in the dev section when I replied. Lost track of where I was when I replied. Normally I'd have waited until it got moved to the proper area before replying. Sorry.
I moved it to Q&A here...

HTCRALEIGHFAN, I got the phone without the original sd card, so no backup that I know of.
k2buckley, phone is used, It does go into recovery with a red triangle. I do have a good 16gb micro sd card for it. just trying to get it back to stock first then go from there. Thanks
Yeah, looks like a launch day evo (like mine). HW0002, hboot. 79 , radio 1.39
. That radio was from before the froyo update. Im curious why it has a droid sound in the bootscreen.
I, too, am curious what you get when you select recovery.
Almost like there's no rom on it? Or a froyo rom was flashed on old radio? How was anything flashed with S-on? All very curious.
But some good suggestions already on this thread. Also, it seems like sd card shouldn't matter, given that a phone can boot with no card, and that you can format your card from recovery

SORRY EVERYONE FOR POSTING IN THE WRONG SECTION!!!!
Would running an RUU help in this case? If so, you can find them in the 'universal auto root' thread. The RUU will take it back to stock, and after you boot normally, and update that bad boy, you can use the auto root tool to flash? Only thing I'm unsure of is if there's an RUU that old, and if so, will it work on a phone that won't boot? The RUU has saved my a$$ a FEW times. Might be worth a shot?
GOOD LUCK!

Hi,
Spent a good few hours googling this with no joy.
Basically S-Off rooted Wildfire S
Android 2.3.3
Kernel 2.6.35.10-g60b2609 [email protected] #1 Sun Apr 17 01:15:33 CST 2011
Build number GRI40
Has 128MB RAM and 23.66MB Internal Storage free.
Basically Wifi stopped working randomly and is now reporting "Error".
Tried the *#*# thing to get in to a menu (no menu!)
Can't see anything which would cause it (manually editted the WiFi list as it kept getting stuck "Searching" that seemed to fix that - too many entries?).
But this has me stumped, anyone else find a fix? Worried it's hard ware- don't want to lose my S-Off!
OK,
It appears to be the same issue as I had when the wonderful "Unable to scan for networks" or some such variation appeared.
The file:
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf appears to get corrupted somehow...
It contains all of the details on Wi-fi networks and passwords etc...
Using ES File Explorer with Superuser I was able to simply rename it and problem solved...
But would suggest a major issue somewhere... last modified 10/10/2011 but no idea how or why as it wasn't a hotspot add.
Hmm
I had the same problem with my HTC wildfire S with S-OFF running any other rom except Virgin Mobile, they seem to have locked the wifi card unless it has a config file. renaming /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf to /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf.old seems to work, but i just created a blank file /data/misc/wifi/wifi_config_001.conf and it also seems to work. (WHY HTC, WHY YOU NO LIKE ROOT?)

I'm sorry for the noob question but here goes.
I'm having the same issues about wifi not working. It only stops working when I use a custom rom(I've tried several different ones). I think you might be right about flashing the kernel but Idk how to do so or which kernel would be best for the rom I want to use. Currently I'm on the stock rom and stock kernel I haven't changed anything. I am rooted and have s-off. Can you help me with the kernel issue or give me some general advice?

Hmm, that's pretty weird. Every time i did the RUU it would completely stock the phone like if it came right out of the box(loose root, lock the hboot, etc..) So idk why its not fixing the wifi issue. Are you rooted first of all? Running on a custom rom? If yes, what kernel are you using? Sorry i got back to you late. But thats all i can think of for right now hope this helps at least a little

Ok so I've been looking around and can't seem to find really good answers to my questions. First of all I'm wanting to root a Japanese HTC Evo 4G on version 2.3.4 Hboot 2.15. The only way I can really find how to do this is to go through HTCdev and do a bootloader unlock. Now my problem with that is that it says it will wipe all personal information on the phone during this process, which I don't want to have to go through and re-input everything again. All posts I find on this are pretty old and don't seem to apply atm. So I guess basically I have a couple questions. Can you back up this info so that you don't have to back through and manually re-input it all?? Is it safe and good to do for my phone? I'm fairly familiar with the root process as I had an HTC Evo 4G before that I rooted but ended up losing that phone and had to get a new one, that being said it was my first root ever done. Also if anybody knows of roms that work great with the AU mail service?? I had flashed a couple of roms before and couldn't get that service back on the phone no matter what I tried so stayed rooted with just stock rom. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated and links and such. Thank you
Also I should mention that I don't understand or speak enough japanese to actually feel comfortable following a japanese youtube video on how to do this. I watched 1 and understood most of what he was saying but just not comfortable enough to use it as a guide.
Use the Revolutionary tool to root your phone http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/revolutionary
Hmm nope doesn't work. I keep getting Failed to get Root! Not sure what else to do after I punch in the beta key and hit enter it just sits at Zerging Root for about 30 secs then pops that up. Also it appears that maybe the HTCdriver is not working properly? When I look at the drivers from my computer for the phone it says 2.0.7.6 and when I click on the HTCdriver 3.0.0.007 nothing really happens except for asking for permission to run and then I hit run and that's it.
So here's a question now. I see I can delete the driver for this. Should I, then try to run HTCdriver 3.0.0.007?? Not sure what else to do atm.
Try uninstalling the driver and install them with this http://dl3.htc.com/application/sync/htc_sync_3.0.5617_us.exe
Then try using the revolutionary tool

You don't by chance have a PC36IMG file on your SD card, do you? I saw where this was causing some issues for others, particularly when the phone reboots to the bootloader. Delete the file if it's there, rename it or move it off the root of your SD card.
Also, make sure you have USB debugging enabled on your phone, and any antivirus software on your computer turned off. I've used Revolutionary to root & S-off 4 different OG EVO's and I've only had an issue once, and it was due to HTC Sync being installed on my laptop (Revolutionary would open and then immediately close).

Is there a way for me to get to recovery? My phone won't boot past the screen, I assume if I can get back to recovery I can wipe it but I need yout help please. When I selects recovery option and the I get a black screen as you can see in the attached pictures.. Thanks a lot.
