Epic 4g touch! - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Just got an epic touch... Now I'm doubting myself should I keep it or wait a month for rev b and higher resolution phones?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App

Rev. B isnt ruled out by any means. Also Oct. 7th might not be about the network but about the iphone since apple is releasing info on the 4th. As far a resolution goes. Read up on super amoled plus i owned the 3d with its qhd screen and it was alright. This screen is far above in detail and in color and viewing angles are insane. Much better then what the 3d has and i can usey phone even when the sun is out

Also what you have 14 days or at least till the ninth of october to exchange it. So hold out and wait.

Samsung just released a SGSII with lte and a super amoled HD display @4. 65" and 1280x720! Like wtf?... And I got the phone on Monday

So return your phone
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

They announced it but what are the chances its coming to the states? It will probably stay in Korea. The hd would have been nice though...

As far as that phone goes its only in korea right now and its not releases yet. Galaxy S 3 will release around the globe next year first and again the US wont get their version till sept. or oct.

I'm keeping this one till the sgIII comes out. I'll probably skip the prime. Do what makes you happy dude

No it will not... and those phones that come out then won't compete either with phones that come out 6-12 months later and those phones will not compete with phones that come out 6-12 months later.....get the point? it's a never ending cycle.
enjoy your phone!

I'm still amused by the whole Rev B paranoia. All this stomach churning over a rumor on a tech blog that they author won't respond to inquiries on!

To support hspa its gonna need the qualcomm 1.5 which is an inferior processor, the et4g is gonna smoke.it
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App

Better phones will always be released as soon as you buy one. Just get the phone you like at the time and be happy with it. Then when the next one comes out you sell yours and buy the next one.

I plan on upgrading in April. However, I'm hoping that there is a phone that'll be out by then that will sway me away from this one, I'm loving it so much.

Another Epic

My wife dropped her Moment yesterday and broke the screen and Sprint is telling me Asurion will have to replace it for the 100 deductible. She will be able to upgrade on Sept 1 so we will be getting her a new phone then instead. The great Devs here have made me LOVE my phone and I wonder if we should just get her an Epic but I am concerned the Dev community will disappear as new phones become available.
Thoughts?
Not yet only somE people will leave but their work is still here
And even sine of the people who levee erroll probably still work on the phone when official gb comes out

Just get the photon by motorola mobility now apart og google overlord inc. Or the htc evo 3d as updates always go first t evo flagship.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Yeah if the dev community is important to you, obviously there will be more going on with newer phones. But if she wants a keyboard and you love this phone, at least you've got a bunch of froyo roms already and will have some new gb roms in the near future.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I'd say wait for SGSII line or the new Nexus. In the mean time, just pay the nominal fee to put your Sprint account in a hold pattern, then just get a cheap pre-paid phone until one of those phones above is released.
I agree^^^^ if you love your epic hold out for the GS2 that community should be fun to begin with and you'll learn a lot more since you'll have the phone since launch day

That's not funny.. OK its funny..
Battery life is easily the worst part of this phone. Better batteries can't come soon enough.
I typically get 16 hours of normal usage (phone, text, email). I don't constantly stream Pandora or Netflix over 3G though...
Light usage gets me 24-26 on average. Of course, I start getting nervous once the battery gets below 40%. I'm used to it dropping like a rock after that from my days on the Moment with Froyo.

Don't even say that! And I couldn't imagine samsung letting them do that. They know it would crush them. This service will never come in time for this phone but it doesn't later cause this phone had the best battery life of any phone I have used our seen hands down. With multi core processors and more energy efficient phones and this new battery technology coming it is going to be so nice. I'll want me a electric crotch rocker that will go 10x father than the beastly ones that they have now. Pros for posting this for us sir. I appreciate it

Unless you wanted to wait until November to get the SIII, you made a good choice.
SII came out in April, landed in USA carriers in november. Just because they are doing an unveiling doesn't mean it'll come onto market the next day...
But I suppose you have the option of paying 600+ dollars for unlocked, international which still isnt a bad price, but I can think of a few places to put that 600 besides a phone. I'm happy I got the SII for FAR on the down payment.
Can always sell the SII and buy the SIII that way you save some bread..... but I can't wait to see this bad boy, even tho I may not want my SII anymore bcuz of it
SGH-T989
I bought thisnphone onnlaunch day at tmobile. I di agree it wont be getting launhed here in the states till way after the international release. Im saying 6 months after intl gets it well start to get news about carrier releases. If i do get it im buying it unlocked. But i did promise myself id stick with a phone until its no longer usable. I love my sgs2. Updates can wait because this can do everyrhing i need. I can do other thinga with 600+ dollars.

Apples iPhone, There's a patent for that. Solving lifes dilemmas one lawsuit at a time.
I have little faith it will launch on US carriers the same day. We all know how US Carriers have serious fetish with bloats.
What I have heard is the moved back the launch date so it will launch in the states at the same time

This is utter BULLHONKY. I've had this phone since October and have been patiently waiting for ICS, and I swear that if Galaxy S III comes out before ICS for Galaxy S II I will DISOWN SAMSUNG and never buy a phone from them.

Exactly!! Anyone who thinks this phone will drop in the US anytime soon is crazy. Bloatware comes first when it comes to phones in the US. carriers will try anything to get more money from you. We were the last to see the galaxy sII on tmobile. Why would we see this phone anytime before January next year?
If there is no option for native ICS then I will pass. The galaxy sII will live on long past the release of the gsIII..
Well if it does get launched before June (which looks to be the case) I'm selling this phone and getting the international version. The 4G speeds don't matter to me since I never get over 8mbps anyway. I'd rather have the phone that gets updates right away and has better rom development.

Finally GN in Sprint. The only problem I am on contract still with the NS4G. I guess I will just wait for the Nexus number 4.
Congrats to Sprint. Im still wondering when TMO will get a US copy. Weird that N1 and NS were first on TMO and now theyve been dropped completely for GNex

Just ordered mine, love the Nexus S but hated the small screen. Went from an EVO 4G to it. I missed that large screen.
Going to pre order mine in a bit... can't wait to have a bigger screen again(went from evo 3d to ns4g)
Quick question for those that pre ordered...
Was it online only?
Did the charge you upgrade fee?
What was the total?(with shipping)
Thanks

Unless it's edge-to-edge, I don't want a phone that's any bigger/wider.
Samsung will lose my business.
Pretty sure the screen won't be bigger than it is now, Samsung isn't that stupid, that's why they have the Note series.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I agree. 4.8 inches is perfect. If it were "edgeless" or "edge to edge" than yeah go ahead and bump that up while keeping the same size, but the current size is perfect for a phone boarding on phablet.
No reason to go any higher when someone can just buy a Galaxy Note. I can still unlock and use my phone with one hand for the most part. Yeah it's a bit difficult but it can be done!
It seems like they just released the S3
