this is present on the normal galaxy S II , did it disappear off the Epic 4G Touch or am I just missing it somehow…
While browsing in my phone's internal file system I found stuff relating to this, but when I tried opening or installing the apk nothing happened. So it's there, but something has it turned off or blocked.
I have launcher pro which will access the hidden menu , I went to shortcut/activites/call settings/call rejection and it will make a wiget for that setting.
I used this same approch on my epic4g with launch pro.

I just upgraded my phone to android 4.0.4 and it's alot different than whatever i was using before. It's from Bell. I can't find an option to add or remove desktops (or canvases as they were called on my old os)
I've tried pressing and holding on an empty desktop to remove it, but it just displays all desktops, allows me to scroll through them, and select apps and widgets to add to them.
There must be a way to do this, when I first upgraded I only had 3, like I did with my old OS, but some settings were screwed up and apps as well so I did a reset, now I have 7 or so.
Anyone know how to remove them? I only need 3 maybe 4.
UPDATE: figured it out after 2 hours. If anyone else has this problem (i'm probably the only one to ever have it) pinch the screens, then you can remove them.
I am new to the forums, so hello all and thank you in advance for any help. Here is my problem.
I have a Sprint Note 2 which I bought about 1 year ago. I have all my apps/purchases on that phone and everything works great. Couldn't be happier (unless i got to hammer an iPhone to pieces).
I just picked up a Note 10.1 2014 edition and went through the set up process. I used all of my 'common' answers so that I could sync my PC, phone and tablet. Here is where the trouble started.
Many of the apps said that they ran into errors when downloading. When I went into the store and searched for the app (using my 10.1), it said 'installed'. I have the option of opening the application from the store and everything works fine, but I cannot find the icon on my 10.1 so that I can put it on my homescreen.
Any ideas on why my apps say installed, but don't appear on my 10.1? Everything is fine on my Note 2!
Perhaps you need to restart your launcher or (better) restart your tablet.

In the app drawer, a lot of the apps are grouped into folders. I had the same problems finding the G-Mail icon at first. Look at the Galaxy Plus, Google, and Samsung apps, and notice the little 'plate' they are sitting on. That is actually a folder. Touch that and it will open to show all the apps. Just spent an hour trying to find the calculator this morning
Summary: I've got the original Galaxy Gear, and also a Note 4 international (in The Netherlands). The Gear is not rooted. The Note 4 is rooted, but only for Titanium Backup purposes. I've got everything connected and set up and all works properly, except automatic unlocking!
Set-up: I set up my phone to work without locking. Rebooted the phone and the gear. Then I set up automatic unlocking when the gear is near, in the gear manager. It asks me a pattern (twice) and a PIN (twice) and the switch gets "on".
Problem: From now on my phone is always locked, and always asking for a pattern. This is different from my same set-up with an S5, where the phone neatly only requires a swipe when near with my gear (no rhyme intended) and only asks for a pattern when the gear is off or away.
I tried:Reinstalling Gear Manager from scratch. Resetting Gear to factory settings. Clearing all data from Gear software from Titanium. Clearing/deleting all connections in BlueTooth. Reinstalling/geconfiguring Gear Manager, connection, Gear, phone. Disabling all locking on phone. Rebooting both phone and Gear between each step mentoined. Searched the internet/forums for suggestions, nothing found (most people experience the Note NOT locking íf they have any problems at all). Saw somewhere people in forums mentioning needing to put the phone on top of the watch touching it (some proximity issue): I tried that touching it EVERYWHERE on the phone, but this also did nothing. Nothing of this worked, all resulting to the same problem.
Not tried: Complete reflash to factory of phone........not wanting to do that.
Question: Are there any people here with similar issues and maybe (hopefully!) suggestions to fix it? It's really annoying to have to unlock my phone all the time!
Hi,
I'm also having the same problem! Still looking for a fix as well....

Which version of the os are you running on the gear? The original or the new tizen version? That might be the issue of you didn't upgrade the watch to the new version that the gear 2 is using.
anyone find a solution yet? I am running the stock android on the gear (don't want to update to tizen - as I like my side loaded apps)
those with the tizen update installed is the auto unlock working for you?
I have also noticed the e-mail notifications are not coming to the gear from the Note 4 either. With my Note II everything worked/works great (running android 4.4.2). The Note 4 running 4.4.4 doesn't , so it's not a problem with the gear.
thanks,
Kit
Hello,
I’ve been having a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 since the last update where I am unable to use my Settings. Every time I tried to access something in the Settings, it would display a message that reads ‘Unfortunately, Settings has stopped working.’ I’ve tried a factory reset and it still does not work. I’m now stuck at a Welcome screen and I can see that my data is working again. I don’t know what to do anymore.
Okay, I'd like to start out with saying that I have Samsung note 10 plus. I may even be in the wrong forum for this question, which I apologise in advance.
I really need you guys help. I'm not sure if it's something I did having installed the app Package Disabler, (and mostly disabling things that I felt were Samsung bloated apps)
but after I did this and restarted my phone, the keyboard is missing. Now, I can't input my password to open my phone. I've Googled around and found some solutions, but they're all dated back in 2017 and things have changed since then.
1. using a wired keyboard or a micro USB adapter just to use it to access the keyboard part which would allow me to open up my phone since my phone hasn't a keyboard at the moment.
2. My only option now is the emergency call button. One suggestion was to dial #211 and that would miraculously do the trick. People were raving about that one, but then again that post was from 2017. lol! I tried it and got nada.
3. I even tried the wipe cache partition and that still doesn't work. I don't want to master reset my phone AGAIN. I just updated it, two ago.
Do you have any other suggestion???

Install a keyboard app to your phone by signing in to the play store from another computer?

Firstly ,
if you have read some of my previous post, i have warned about the possibility that disabling ,
apps eg with a package disabler , can have a "knock on" effect .
Anyway ,disabling what is bloat to you, can be linked to another device function/ system app ??
This is the reason i stopped using a package disabler .
The knock on effects can be various .....??
eg ..system apps can be corrupted or not working .. excessive battery drain ....etc
Nowadays , I only disable apps in the Device/Settings /Apps/....
All i can suggest is ..if you can ??/ ..enable all the apps you disabled with the Package disabler
Double check that you have and maybe do a "clean" factory reset afterwards .???
Do not import any backed up Device settings or data ..as it could have been corrupted
Good luck .
