Hiding Messages - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I came from the Samsung Epic and I was able to protect my text messages by using Handcent SMS or any other third party text option. On the Samsung Epic Touch 4g it doesn't quite work that way. I can protect the messages that come to the Handcent messaging service but my default messaging service still remains unprotected. I have set up the settings correctly but it seems as if the default messaging service cannot be taken off of default and does not communicate with the security settings of other messaging apps. How can this be fixed?

Stop being so rotten and sneaky lol jk

I use Smart App Protector. It allows you to password lock whatever apps you choose. Just lock up your stock messaging app

Delete default apps ie messages

Is it safe to delete the default messaging app or even the voice mail app? I use Google voice and handcent so I have no need for them....
Are there any reasons I should keep them - just in case something should come up
Thanks in advance

Voicemail is safe to delete, i have had it gone for a very long time. The mms app i have heard will have side affects if deleted, hopefully someone can chime in that uses handcent.

Pansi SMS

Decided to get rid of Go SMS, its become too bloated and features are becoming "premium." Ive tried Handcent and ChompSMS before and wasn't a fan. Looking through the market I stumbled across Pansi SMS.
Have some questions for you Pansi SMS users.
1. Is it okay to uninstall the stock messaging app if I install Pansi SMS? Will it mess up sending and receiving MMS's, if I unistall the stock app with Pansi installed?
I know with Go SMS Pro it was okay to remove the stock messaging app with no consequences.
2. Does it interfere with voicemail?
Ive heard earlier cases where it would intercept the voicemail and instead send you a text with a number to call to retrieve the voicemail.
The only issue I had with Pansi was when I sent a text message using the keyboard, the conversation did not scoll up. I had to pull it up

After installing and trying - please describe your feelings with Pansi SMS
I want to switch app for SMS/MMS but I don't know which is the best.
Tried it, having a huge battery drain and Better Battery Stats shows partial wakelocks for Pansi TimeService. Too bad, it really seemed like a nice app.
Love it. No more Go

Verizons messaging replacements

I cannot find a decent messaging app that works. Messaging+ is hokey at best and crashes often. Ive tried HelloSMS and EvolveSMS but they dont work with Verizon MMS messages. Also having a problem with lowered DPI and the pictures are zoomed in. I have to download them and view in Gallery.
I love the layout of Evolve and Hello, but sucks they dont work. Evolve has MMS settings but not sure if that will fix anything.
Solutions? Alternatives?
Whats wrong worth the Messenging app that comes on the phone. I've tried a bunch and have ended up back to this

Ever since updating to Verizons Message+, my stock Messaging app is gone. It is not hidden or disabled, and I can search for it and it finds it but says it cannot start.
I disabled the Message+ (can't uninstall it now) but nothing changes.
I also do not care for the layout and the way it functions.
My G4 is stock and on 11A, and I have the Messaging app set as Default. In fact, I have Message+ (Verizon) Disabled and SMS/MMS works fine.
It in the LG Box (folder) of apps, took me a while to find it

I am using Action Launcher. It is not listed in the Apps, but I can search for it, but like I said earlier, it still doesnt launch.
Regardless I do not like the stock app. I am looking for good replacements and alternatives.
Evolve works great on my G4, mms included. I use Textra mainly and haven't had any issues with it either. I'm not currently using evolve but I remember having to adjust the mms file size. I used the option below no limit. I think 1 or 2MB?
1mb is right above "no limit".
Yea I get MMS messages from my GF, but other times I get notification alerts... but open the SMS app and nothing is there. Then I switch to Messaging+ and it'll display a MMS message.
Maybe the default 500kb setting was too low and now allowing it to come in to the Evolve App. We'll see.
I really wish "Hello SMS" would have MMS settings because that is my favorite SMS app. Visually appealing and stupid simple. It is unlike any other SMS app I can find.
Textra. ALL DAY.

Help with LG SMS app, to delete sms from home screen

Feel I'm missing some setting.
I can read sms's either in popup or notification drop-down and swipe away, BUT it keeps coming back. Not a heavy sms user but it annoys that the only way to get rid of it is to open messaging app and open sms there. I'm not in the humour now for trying 3rd party app as my sms use is small.
thanks:fingers-crossed:
Yes because you didnt open it

messaging app

Hi all. Quick question. Using Textra as default app. For some reason when I look at messages on my watch it only shows one side of the conversation. It will show my response but not the other person text. I have also tried it with other apps like pulse. Same issue.
hello, same thing for me and textra. and my responses are send twice.
Thanks.
Galaxy Watch messaging works fully only with native Samsung messaging apps: sms and e-mail
With other apps like Textra only notifications are sent to watch
I passed the samsung messaging by default, then go back to textra and I now have the two people. surely a coincidence but it works. in any case, whether it is one or the other application, it only displays two weeks of messages.
