I was driving on US 101 N just passing La Cumbra and low and behold, I pinged a 4G tower!!

I did some further research and found that Clear has a coverage map showing Santa Barbara as having coverage.
This is promising as I've been looking more and more closly at Verizon... but I'll be faithful and wait!
Sweet.
I live in Poughkeepsie, NY and as far as I knew there was not 4g/Wimax here. I turned my radio on the other day and It popped up with a single bar of 4G.
It got consistent 5meg down, 3 meg up, which is more than enough for just about anything I'd be doing on the phone.
I'm really looking forward to hearing from Sprint next month as to what their plans are for coverage/4G LTE rollout. The most recent info I read said the Epic 4g Touch is equipped for 800mhz LTE, I Just hope they push coverage as fast as Verizon has been.

I wonder how they'll reconcile their 3G/4G frequencies ?
...and who'll get what line of phones?
AT&T should have had the DVP and HD7.
News story here...
There is a thread about this in the HD7 subforum as well...
I didn't see this one coming. Did you see the proposed LTE build out maps?! Talk about awesome! AT&T will smoke everything out there if they're true to their word. Hopefully even more phones to choose from and much better coverage.
Downside is that there won't be a cheap cell phone company anymore. T-Mobile's plans were much cheaper plus unlimited data. I doubt AT&T would keep those. If this gets FCC approval, I'm wondering if I shouldn't jump ship to T-Mobile later this year and lock in some cheaper plans. Hopefully, they'll grandfather people in.
Oh, and someone posted on Engadget that the new company should be AT&T&T.
How do you like this rendition of a new logo? Something I whipped up:

This is ridiculous sometimes its so bad it happens every 5 minutes while on my phone! This is the worst service I've ever had with a Verizon phone in the 13 years I've been with them.
It literally happened as I am typing this on my nexus.

Verizons network crashed yesterday, and you could still have an issue in your area. I had only 3g this morning in a strong 4g area.
I dont know about verizon, but there were 3.7 million android devices activated on christmas alone, so im sure this is just growig pains

This happened to me yesterday also on VZ. Fortunately, 4G and 3G are back up and running smoothly in AZ

Had my galaxy nexus for a couple weeks now and the wifi (download speeds notably) has just never been strong for me at all, even when sitting right next to my router.
I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE 4.0.2 unrooted.
I get good 4g speeds, but my wifi speeds are just terrible.
Here's what I get on 4g:

This is what I get right next to my router:
My upload speeds aren't bad but the download is just terrible. And its weird because the ping is so low.
My wifi isn't great in general. It used to be faster but here's what I get on my computer now:
I know there's a radio fix for GSM phones with xxkk6 but I don't think there's one for LTE. Is anyone else having this issue with download speeds or know a fix? Thanks in advance.
Evening all,
Bit of a odd request here, but I figured I'd ask and see what I could come up with. I'm required to write a paper on 4G versus 3G speeds, prices, etc, etc...however I have a problem. I don't actually have a 4G phone, and thus can not run the tests myself. If people would be interested in helping a guy out, I would appreciate the following statistics.
1. Speedtest Screenshots 3G/4G
2. Timed downloads for a identical APK from the PlayStore on both 3G and 4G. (I don't care which just so long as it is download both times and uninstall between the to obviously.
3. A timed download for a external file outside of the play store on both 4G and 3G.
Thanks will be handed out for results, and it would be much appreciated!

I have been looking for a galaxy s3 to replace my e4gt flashed to page plus.... And i talked to a guy in class today wanting to sell his. Idk how muxh but i was looking. No sim card slot? So does that mean s3 4g is wimax like e4gt or is it lte and maybe sim is locked inside phone needing disassembly to get out?

The US Sprint GS3 SIM card is not removable its on the inside of the phone if I remember correctly. And is/will never be capable of receiving WiMax 4G just LTE.

Not worried about it.. Just curious if i could simply flash to page plus like the e4gt... Or if i have to lock it into 3g only mode and such
