[Q] Android 2.3.3 ::: 2G/3G Toogle ??? - HTC Wildfire S

Good Morning everybody !
I searched everywhere looking for a toogle/button or something to switch bands quickly from homescreen but it looks like not yet developed for Android 2.3.3, any of the existing ones just takes you the "settings" and you have to change it manually (so it is non-sense to have such toogle installed).
Has anybody came over something like this ?

Can you have seperate wallpapers for portrait and landscape?

Hi guys.
I did try searching but didn't find anything about this.
I miss having separate wallpapers for portrait and landscape like I had on my TP2.
Is it possible to do this on a G1, with 1.6, and no root?
(Please don't start the "why don't you root" stuff, at this point in time I will not get any benefit from it, I don't feel like changing all my settings again, and there seems to be no definite guide for UK DRC92.)
android has no built in feature that allows you to do this but there may be a home replacement app that will do this, not sure though

I was kind of hoping there was an app that'd allow this with the stock home, every home replacement I've tried has either been laggy, FC's a lot, or is just useless in general.
I am not aware of any such feature. It's not doable in the stock home screen or any home replacement I'm aware of.
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
search market for wallpaper i saw one the other day when browsing the icon shows a white phone shape upright and a black one horizontal.sorry couldnt be more specific

Dual Wallpaper allows the user to select two different wallpapers to be set when the phone is either in Landscape or Portrait mode.
When the orientation changes, the application will automatically change the wallpaper.
For 2.x phones only
Does NOT require root.
Latest version: 1.0.0 (for Android version 2.0 and higher)

Homescreen Calendar - Show Appointments More Than 1 Day in Advance??

I have searched and found this question asked several times but never answered. Can someone please show me a way to make the homescreen calendar show appontments more than one day in advance? Like maybe a week or two? I have seen this action included in .cabs that change other aspects of the homescreen, so I'm sure that it can be done. But, I dont want to change my clock, font, background, or anything else on my homescreen. I have it looking exactly the way I want it. I JUST want to see my appointments for the upcoming week instead of just one day in advance. Can someone please point me to a .cab or a registry setting or whatever will do this?
TIA
If it makes any difference, I have a Verizon TP2 with stock 6.5 ROM and Sense 2.1.
I had the same problem...
I used Cookie's home tab to solve it... but that's sense 2.5
check out the themes, there are multiple solutions
I use TodayAgenda 1.5 on my home screen to display my upcoming appointments and tasks. The software is a free download on the Manufacturer's website and there are a lot of tweaks you can make to the display. It's the only software I've found to display both pieces of information in the way I want, I just disable the default calendar and tasks.

Yeah, it's for 2.5. Is there a way to upgrade to 2.5 without flashing a whole custom ROM?

You could download latest factory ROM from htc and flash that if the custom ROM aspect troubles you. You would still want to back everything up first but there is no need for HardSPL etc.

You can upgrade the TP2 to sense 2.5 from an HTC ROM? Will I lose any T-Mobile custom stuff?
Ok, I checked out TodayAgenda and the website doesnt give a lot of specifics. From what I see, I have doubts that it is going to work on a Sense 2.1 homescreen. The program hasn't had an update since 2008. Does it work with Sense? I dont want to have to disable Sense and use the regular Today screen.

Hmmm, had a look at the t-mobile support page and the latest official ROM from them is still Sense 2.1; so going the official route looks like no-go.
Another option is at on this forum - see forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=661941 - have a look at the 9th post onwards.

I'm using the last official HTC ROM and it has Sense 2.5 1.86.401.0 (67102)WWE you lose some of the Tmobile applications but I think you can find the cabs on this forum. I was able to get Co0kies home tab to work and it shows the next day's appointments.

Could you please post a link or URL to that download site? I've tried to search the HTC site and got nowhere (the latest update I could find was dated 10-14-09 ROM version 1.86.401.0 so I'm thinking that is not the lates one). Also, does anyone know if there is someplace to get all the Verizon add-ons in one place? I have found the complete stock ROMs, but nothing with just the Verizon stuff to install over a factory ROM. It would save a lot of time over searching for each add-on individually...if I can even find it all, lol. I would like to keep my ROM as stock VZ, just with 2.5. Any other programs, reg edits, customizations, etc. I would prefer to do myself...and I actually use some of the VZ stuff.

And/or can anyone help me out with this? Link to latest HTC stock ROM for VZ TP2 and .cab for all the Verizon stuff?
on the calendar tab go to menu>settings>reminder you can select up to 1 week before

Since flashing FroYo no longer get HSDPA, only get 3G

As title suggests. Using the recent one released on here with HTC Sense v1.0c.
Used to only get HSDPA with stock firmware.
Thought I saw a thread on here discussing it but I couldn't find it.
Can anyone help please?
use search button or simply search the development section theres many fixes for this
You are getting HSDPA, it's just the icon not being displayed - as said there are fixes for it
As I said I did try searching but couldn't find anything.
I'll have another look.
Appreciate the reply.
I can't find the fix either!

who would of thought people still don't know about this
it's native in froyo roms that there is no H icon, speed tests will show you are using HSDPA, it even says in your phone settings...
just download a custom notification bar/theme such as blackbar for defrost.
I know its not in the stock roms and its never really bothered me. I don't want a custom theme I just want the H icon to add to my current rom. But don't know if there is more to it than just dropping the icon into a certain folder through recovery.
There is more to it. It is about editing the framework-res.apk fil on the system partition. And as it just uses the 3g icon you will probarbly also have to edit some xml files. Just about the same as done with the battery mod
I'm sure there are a simple 'update' to get the H icon. Going through the many pages for each ROMS, it comes up quite a few times.

Not everyone is glued to this forum following every little Android thing. Rooting and using ROMs is very new to me. I only started 4 days ago. But thanks for being "accommodating".
I did a search and nevertheless the answers appeared. I then did the keypad trick with *#*#4636#*#* and noticed my phone IS on HSDPA, just not displaying a H.
I'm very content with that so problem solved.
Thank you to everyone that replied.

OK I read that back and probably came across as a c***.
I run a forum and one of my pet peeves is dismissive veteran members when they interact with noobs. Your tone suggested I should know it all. My tone suggested I'm a penis.
I did find the answer before reading your post. I apologise for the dickishness.

HSDPA icon is included by default AFAIK, the framework just needs to be built with it enabled.

[Q] May be im doing something wrong? 3D effects, weather lock screen, rosie scroll

HI guys, sorry for this, ive been looking everywhere to find an anser but i think its so simple no ones asked it....im kinda new but these guides are awesome, rooted the phone and for the first time im trying different custom ROMS, so far ive only done the ARHD and now the leedroid v4 beta 3.0 sense...
i can see the difference between roms but guys for some reason someof the features that they say are with sense 3.0 arent there, how can u get a scrolling home screen like in the sensation, if u scroll fast enough you can see your homescreens scrolling round and round....when i downloaded the ARHD rom latest one 6.3.1 i couldnt do it in that either, youtube videos show the eather lock screen being awesome when the lcd is sitched on, the weather occupies the whole screen but mine just comes up as a widget cloud thing when the screen is turned on....so i though may be this rom doesnt support that, then i tried leedroid but that doest have the scrolling feature nor does the weather lockscreen occupy the whole lcd, it comes up as a widget again, in a small black box..
am i missing something, are these addons or something, could some one please help, ould really appreciate it....oh i was going to try the leedroid hd version 3.3.3 but noticed lee talking about two kernals, couldnt find any information on what these kernals do....
and since im here could someone explain to me what the rosie scroll 3d addon is, as in what it does, couldnt find any information on that too...
sorry for being a pain but ive been searching but cant find a definitive answer, hopefully someone can help....
ok some solved
ok thanks guys, just been experimenting, figured out that if u need the scroll u need to get the 3d rosie scroll add on, the only thing now left is how to get the weather lock screen working, its still coming up as a widget rather than a whole screen when the screen s turned on....if anyone could help, would be great...
although..
noticed that even though i had the rosir scroll its still not the same as the rosie scroll on the Leedroid, u can actually rotate the screens 360 as fast as u can but this is limited on the ARHD....could anyone confirm or have i got the wrong add on, theres a rosie 3d super and theres an ultra...ill try both to see, but weather lockscreen still not orking as it should from what ve heard...

Yes, you are right and what ever you have got is correct. ARHD rosie scroll doesn't rotate 360 degrees once you flick your finger. I think it is more sense 3.5 feature, I am not sure about it. ARHD 6.3.1 is based on official HTC RUU with HTC sense 3.0 and is very close to stock HTC ROM. Also you can try super smooth, ultra smooth rosie from HAMDIR. For weather lockscreen did you try changing from Personalization->Lock screen?
if it is not working, I would suggest you to first take Nandroid backup, clear everything using superwipe and Flash ARHD 6.3.1. All the best.
hey thanks
hey thanks kaydee, i have to admit, very much impressed by the ARHD, all night phone has been on with ifi enabled and the battery is still in its 90 percent...shocking actually...
Anyways i have tried what you have told me twice but for some reasoon the weather is still appearing as a widget when the screen turns on, very strange, surprised i cant seem to find anyone with the exat same problem, may be i havent searched right...
if anyone could help, ould be appreciated, thanks again
Help
oh boy 150 views but only one reply, think im the only one here with this problem, think its best to post this in the ARHD forum but i cant since my posts are less than 10...
does anyone have any idea if theres a way to uninstall the lockscreen apps and then try to install them again...
may be that will work, my guess is something is clashing, thats why the weather lock screen appears as a widget when screen is turned on rather than occupying the whole screen...
Shockingly unblievable
OMG i feel like jumping off the roof...after relentless searching and multiple reboots, guess wat i found...
the weather lockscreen wasnt working because in order for it too work, i had to make sure in the locations menu, the use wifi was checked...and waala it works, just plain stupid frankly, my fault really...
anyways those of whom end up with this sorta problem, remember its not the new custom rom uve just flashed but in some cases as simple as checking something...anyways if this doesnt work
Make sure background data and sync are checked at the top in the sync menu under settings. Then scroll down and make sure you have weather set to sync automatically.
should work, thanks to one guy whom helped lol...and thanks to countless others around the web...
Good to see that you finally got it. Happy Flashing

[Q] Add/Remove/Change Position Of Capacitive Buttons ?

Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible via an app or mod to add or remove or change the position of the capacitive buttons.
Currently the stock M8 Sense format is Back, Home, Switcher.
I would like to know if it is possible to make it Back, Menu, Home, Switcher, Search.
Please let me know I am dying for a regular menu and search button!

Why not just get to used to how Android is changing and not live in the past? It's not hard to get your head around it and it'll be easier then asking for mods people just don't want any more...

Android is all about customization and personalisation.
It doesn't hurt to ask and see if it is possible, because it has been done before. So no need for such a douchebag kind of response.

OK, my response might've come across a bit 'off' but the principal is still the same. If the mod was wanted by the community then someone would've made it. Xposed might already have something similar available so might be worth looking at that option but I'd personally say it's better off to just get used to what Google are doing to make Android better (yes, better) and accept the change...

the dude just wants an extra search and menu button because that's his preference. Like I said before, Android is all about personalization and customization. If you don't like a change that has been applied, then there are possible methods it can be altered. Telling someone to "accept the change" is contrary to the purpose of XDA and Android. Heck if a guy wanted a gingerbread style status bar or something are you going to tell him "no, just accept the change, it was for the better?"
You shouldn't, because it's all about preference. While it might be better for the majority of the user base, he might not like it and there is nothing wrong with asking if someone has devised a method to apply that change, ESPECIALLY because he posted in the Q/A section.

Just asking to see if it is available, no need for this type of response
