Got a Windows Mobile device ? Annoyed that there's no Angry Birds for Windows Mobile ? I certainly am, so i decided to make a JAVA Angry Birds RIO game... i tried WM but i suck at it but java... eh easy as pie. So you will need a Java Player you could use JBlend (untested) or JavaFX or any other one.
1. Get a Java Player (for windows mobile)
2. Download the newest angry birds RIO for your device

2a. Extract angry birds to reveal a jar file... DO NOT EXTRACT THAT
3. Copy both to your Phone
4. Install the Java Player
5. Install the Jar File
6. Play

confirmed working with javafx. but previous screen overlap when quitting game. also can it be played in landscape mode. thank you.
try turning it sideways before opening javafx... will try to fix
Hi...
Great news for us still on WM and thank you for this.
To confirm, it's not working well with Jblend (picture is teared) but it's working ok with JavaFx. One more benefit of JavaFX is that you can install it on Storage Card and also all java apps can be also installed on Storage Card so you can preserve main memory.
One more tip. If you can't access all options in landscape (like i can't on my HD2) use virtual Dpad to circle between options...
Cheers...
thanks for the tip.. so JBLEND is definitely a no no. Does it work well? i don't have a wvga device to test it?. Please give clear feedback
as reported earlier game is working okay and partial screen overlapping when quitting the game in portrait mode.but now working perfectly in landscape mode.
1. If you rotate screen from rotatescreen application and open javafx it would return back to portrait mode.
2. In settings>personal> button>button1(hold)>2 assign a program> select rotatescreen.
3. Open Javafx select angry birds rio then press and hold button1 (call) screen rotates to landscape and game is good to play no freeze, tearing or overlapping.
this is how I got it on my Blackstone with Ypsmav swift 1.1a rom. thanks and hope it works for all.
You can thank me if I helped.
Big
quite a big file for a java game , atleast the biggest i've seen so far
wooow!!!
This is really nice.
I'e tried on my blackstone using Jblend (latest from LEO) and it doesn't work (it runs out of memory), but Installed JavaFX and works fine.
Thanks!. hope you continue improving this version, and porting more applications to be used on our devices!
it works baby...
if you manage to make another Java game or applications, i can provide picture logo and to make a very good new Java concept for WInMo...

Ok, this way is not avaiable at my HTC HD2. But i have found the personal section under start/settings/menue/more/personal/buttons... and then... i see a screen with no useability. In the attachment you see a screenshot from the internet. In my screen it has no entries they are all empty.
I think it's also a rom problem... "ROM 3.14.407.2(04666)GER.

Lot of games seems to be works with JAVAFx...
i triend some another *.jar designed to Symbian S60v5... somenthing like a Nokia with 640x320...
Always a bad effect in game menu but in real games, all works great without problem...
My last game was a Trial Moto... awesome...
Have fun !
PS...
is there a way to save game in other place than Root of device because, i consume lot of space with 5 games...
thanks a lot for this game! i have installed in root and after first play the space in device has been reduced aprox 50MB!! is this normal?

What you need:
- Morphgear 2.4.0.9. you can get it from here : http://www.spicypixel.com/web/page/morphgear/Download.aspx
- Some Morphgear modules (each emulator has to be bought separately)
- Some Roms (google for them, no roms here).
- My skin
Installation:
1) Extract the files in the zip and copy them directly into:
Code:
\Program files\Games\Morphgear\Skin[B]s[/B]
2) In Morphgear's global settings be sure to have:
* uncheked "Disable Full Screen"
* checked "Use Virtual Pad"
3) In Morphgear's SNES (exemple) settings be sure to select:
*Skin: Name: WVGA MT Pad v0.2 by Dredd67
Troubleshooting:
-If the skin doesn't appear is the skin list, removed all others skins that could have been placed there.
-If you start a rom and the Pad doesn't show, be sure to go full screen by pressing the center of the screen.
-I won't do the support specific to Morphgear, I assume you know how to use it or you are able to read the guides on Morphgear's website.
Advises:
This skin provides fake multi-touch support (See the release notes for details). To got it to work you need to press simultaneously two virtual buttons. And you need to be quite precise even if I have tried my best to build this skin as finger-friendly as possible. So for best game experience here is what I suggest:
- Lay down your HD on flat surface (I put it on my pouch on my desktop), the device is easier to manipulate this way.
- Unprecise pressing is OK as long as you don't expect multi-touch.
- For multi-touch to work, you need to position your fingers properly, use your indexes or even better, the tip of your indexes.
- Some games use unusual combinations which are probably not mapped (see release notes). I can't map them because of the calculated multi-touch principle and the space I have to layout the buttons.
- This skin is mainly designed for SNES games. You will have to edit the .txt file to make it work properly with other modules.
- Don't press between the DPAD and the buttons, this is the place where the hidden buttons are. Expect some unexpected moves if pressing there
Release notes:
03.03.2009 : First version.
04.03.2009 : v0.2 : New layout for better multi-touch support.
Buttons that are mapped:
A, B, X, Y, N, S, E, W, NE, NW, SE, SW.
Combinations that are mapped:
A+N, A+E, A+S, A+W, B+N, B+E, B+S, B+W
Advised settings for Morphgear for best performance

We are working on it, but it will be different application, because Morphgear's limitation doesn't allow this.
Look at the link at the end of the 1st post, this is where we are actually.
At my knowledge, it's very hard to have a vpad in landscape mode with Morphgear, because its hardcoded to pop-up UNDER the game screen, which means a few line of pixels...
idea is simply wonderfull , but still need to be better performed
Ciao! Good Job !

Try to disable sound, fps stats, and screen smoothing which is a incredible performance drainer.
Note that it will never be as fast as on other devices, due to the lack of proper graphics drivers.

working on Nes and Snes skin too
hope you enjoy
PS: running Morphgear 2.4.0.9 on HTC Touch HD with WM6.5 Duttys Rom
nice skins, but have you managed to run gba roms smoothly on the HD?
yes soundless but yes. So far the only game that slowed a bit (with a frameskip set to 2) was the intro cinematic of golden sun. all the others are running smooth... i can list the ones i am using if you want.
enjoy
yes. please do. I tried Kingdom Hearts and it didn't go that smooth
I have tried Both US and Eur version both unsucessfully
i checked and the roms i have are of 128 MBit max and Kingdom of Hearts is one of the few 256 Mbit roms... maybe its caused by the emulator? ... i dont know i am just sharing my skins to make the gameplay of those platforms on HTC HD easier
my current list of tested and played:
Sonic Battle 128Mbit
Final Fantasy V Advance 128Mbit
Golden Sun 2 - the Lost Age 128Mbit
Mario Kart Super Circuit 64Mbit
Pac-Man Collection 64Mbit
Super Mario Advance 64Mbit

so far only had problems with Kingdom of hearts. Other then that all the rpg / platform / racing games run very well (thats the purpose of these skins mainly if someone wants one play fighting games i will make a skin for that purpose. its better to have a skin for different game styles cuz it optimizes the "multitouch" simulation. i might do one if there are requests for doing so.
best regards
i was thinking about getting the GPA emu for some of the games i have going to waste in draw but looking at them skins it seems pointless - to me too much of the sreen is going to the buttons how much of the screen goes towards the game - it looks too small for me anyway to change this? why have the emu on the touch hd if it doesnt take advantage of the nice big screen?
i dont thing i understand your question...
are you saying that the game pad is taking too much area of the screen to the game area? well if that is the question the gba screen resolution is 320*240 and so it will resize to the maximum of the HD screen so the only thing i did was to make the skin to fit all the area not ocupied by the game screen.
If you are saying that is a shame to play in portrait instead of playing in landscape is true... though the emulator does support landscape it wont allow the use the virtual game pad (it will but only one part of the screen). Landscape works like a charm for those who have hardware bottons... not for those who need the touch screen to create their own bottons.
I hope it helped if not ask again
edit: and forgot to say that the bigger the resolution the higher the lagging so personally i would sacrifice some pixels in order to get some smooth gameplay
i guess thats true - you might have persuaded me to give it a try

Resco has released an alpha version of their new photo viewer it is similar to the palm pre photoviewer.
lets you navigate folders, add folders to favourites, very fast and stable even in alpha stage. much much better than htc album or media panel.

Thanks. First thoughts after 5 minutes of playing - awesome! Auto rotating, nice and finger-friendly, and I've not found any bugs yet.
Works great, thanks for the tip!
Just having one slight problem though.. The app thinks I have 2 copies of the pictures in "Camera Roll", which is weird. Other than that, very smooth.
great stuff!!
if they can step it up and make the slideshow function better, its a great program!
(the random function messes up the smoothness and you cannot really slow down the speed)
Can anyone reupload ans make Screenshot?

ok, got it :
http://www.resco.net/downloads/pocketpc/viewer/en/PhotoViewerALPHA_p.ARM.CAB
Wonderfull app, I have the BETA version installed on my X1.
Hi All
My 2 cents worth...
The second Alpha and the current Beta seem to be quite buggy on a (unbranded) Touch Pro2. The program seems to freeze a bit and the Alpha even sent Resco Explorer into a looped error for some reason.
Obviously some functionality is still to come, but the principal is really promising. It is interesting that the first Alpha was a lot less buggy in general running, this versions seems to get stuck on some
general JPEG images in a weird pixellated screen freeze....?
The screen controls for zoom etc. leave a ghosted mark when they go off, this stays until you do the next action.
The twin rotate icons are kinda silly too...
The potential for this app is HUGE, there is still some major functionality work to do though, at least on a TP2.
It is a big leap forward and makes HTC's viewer look like a very poor cousin!
Cheers
Jabberoo
Very nice program. I found one bug. When want to upload a picture to picasa for example, I get the error: An error occured while logging to network.
Anyone else has the same problem or ppl who can help this?
Edit: Fixed the upload problem by logging in to picasa via default internet browser first.
i love the beta!!!
This program gets better and better!! I love it!!! Great and finger friendly User Interface and i just love to use the slideshow function!!! (its still a bit laggy when u choose random but i hope they will fix it soon!)

I'd pay for this when it's released as long as it's *reasonably* priced ...

THIS IS FOR OTHER PEOPLE THAT DON'T WANT TO USE THE EXE.
you can download the exe and use winzip or winrar to extract it. than you will find the cab inside the extracte folder. I also installed it from the exe. I don't think it will be ok for the developer if I upload it here. Plus I really recommend to watch the resco site since it is updated very often.
Resco has now fixed the link on their site for the CAB, so it's back up again.

well this is something that keeps me thinking. If a small developer like resco can make wonders like this photo app, resco explorer and resco contacts, why microsoft can't? why is it taking so long to have a decent ui on windows mobile when spb mobile shell is been there for years now?
And after all this comes SE (wich took my 600$) and gives us a very crappy media panel that cannot browse picture folders and takes an hour to create a music playlist among other things....why don't they fire they developers and just buy resco and spb stuff and put them on our device???
sorry for being of topic
tried it. Haven't had plenty of time toplay with it but its working nicely.
I hope they add the button to switch the picture from portrait to landscape instead of doing it through settings. But its a nice piece of software. No crash yet, surprisingly
Do you mean so you can rotate it manually? I have mine set to auto rotate (right) which is absolutely perfect - if the picture is wider than it is high it will rotate it to landscape so that the screen is filled at all times. Just out of interest, why would you want to switch from portrait to landscape manually?
just preference i guess....i got use to the old pictures and videos where i scroll through pictures in portrait and then put them landscape on slide show.
I'll just get use to resco i guess
oh and i think the toolbars is a bit weird on this, although you have ur picture on landscape, the toolbars (zoom etc) stays on portrait. It'd be nice if they change it to landscape too
Cool. Good point about the toolbar changing orientation too, they're taking suggestions over at the Resco site for the app, so maybe let them know your thoughts too.
Hi,
I posted this on the HD2/Leo forum a while ago, but I thought it could be usefull for other devices as well.
I modified a dump of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 taskmanager a bit so that it can run on top of windows mobile 6.5.x builds (the builds with the start button at the bottom).
Operation:
- Tapping and holding the clock will close the active application.
- Tap on the clock in the home screen (mostly Sense) will show a list of running applications.
- Tap and hold any item on the list of running applications in the taskmanager will give you the option to close all running apps.
-------
This version will not be overidden by the notification window when tapping the clock, which is the case with some x2 taskmanager floating around.
There are two flavors:

The whole idea of modifying the X2 taksmanager for WM 6.5.3/5 was to get rid of that thing you're pointing to. I've checked the cabs and you really shouldn't get that icon. Maybe you've installed another version (the WM 6.5 version)?
Anyway to get rid of that thing fire up a registry editor and set HKCU/Software/SonyEricsson/TaskmanagerQuickWindow/Options/TaskbarIconBottomIndent to 50 (dec).
(But it's better to deinstall the version you've installed and install the above version, because the versions floating around replace a dll that is part of the core system. And that is not necessary).

I don't really understand you. I think you're saying:
a) you want the bottom x button to close an application instead of minimizing it (I think you can change that somewhere in the system settings)
b) you want to close an app by just tapping on the clock instead of to tap-and-hold it.
c) neither
I like option b. It's nice to minimize by tapping on the bottom x and closing an app. by just tapping on the clock. I will look into that. Maybe the default behavior can be changed. Maybe not though

Hmmm. V2 doesn't seem to bring up the task list when I'm just using the stock Microsoft today screen. It just drops down the top curtain...
I'm about to try V1 & see if it works.
Or does this pretty much require you to have the Sense/Manila UI running in order to use it?

are you restarted your device after installed because mine works fine with 28205 build or launch it manually in program files

Hi, I did have some issues myself with the cab installation with custom roms. It's a weird thing, but on some roms the registry isn't updated as it is supposed to do. I don't have a workaround for this, but try to install the file again next time you flash a new rom.

I installed the V1 edition & that worked, so I uninstalled that, reinstalled V2, & then it started working with that one as well.
At least it's working now though.
Nice Job appelflap. Running on miri 6.5.x v1.2 hd2. I Love it. Thanks
It is useful, thank you.

Thank you!!!
I do it and all become good.
PS: Colors of lines (green) keep from my cab
Thanks may give it a go, as I find the Touch X & Dutty TM's I've tried on my Leo a bit un-responsive. I have one question though, I don't have the clock visable in the top right corner (don't see the point of it - but that's just me), if I install your TM will there actually be an Icon representing the TM there? If not is there a way to enable it?
Deleted. Silly question.

SciLor's GSensor Control is a tool for converting your Gsensor in a Dpad .
Choose from to modes: Analog Emulation or Digital Pad.
Analog Emulation sends the more keystroke the more you tilt your device
Digital Pad just holds the button in the direction you tilt it. If you put your device flat again the button is release.
You will know to be able to press enter by pulling your device up.

You will need .NET CF 3.5 (and a device with a g-sensor of course) - Link at the Bottom
This is a g-sensor d-pad emulator. Just tilt your device for sending up/down/left/right/return.
For sending the return button just pull your device upwards.
-Analog Emulation tries to send the more keystrokes the more you tilt your device
-Digital Pad sends just holds the "button" as long you tilt your device in that direction
You will always have to run the application to make it work. There is not background process (yet).
Beware, Alpha status!

Wow, this is quite innovative. Gonna try definitely.
Nice but can I suggest something?
I completely agree, this is what button less devices need. I can't believe there are no proper working versions of tilt scrolling are available. G controller and D pad seem promising but are not really getting far.
As far as I can see you only need two things to get this working great.
1: Device centring so it can be calibrated to a normal holding position for neutral.
2: Maybe a map to a button to pause it - so, for instance, hold the volume button so stop it scrolling once you are where you need to be - or the other way round - press a button to un-pause it and allow scrolling.
If you could get it to emulate finger scrolling - like moving around a webpage or document - that would be awesome.
Good luck - someone's gotta get this working
Nice ideas, I will take them into account Feel free to post future suggestions in my Forums so I can better keep track of them!
tested
I tried this on my Imagio this morning (6.5). Didn't appear to work (I could have been doing something wrong but it seems like a pretty straight forward deal). I tested it on the Total Commander menu and the PHM Registry menu. It did not respond to either of the 2 options.
I tried installing on device memory and storage card. I did several soft resets. I reinstalled. I have zoombar plus installed. that turns your zoombar into a d pad by sending keystrokes- could that cause a conflict with this app?
**EDIT** So I uninstalled both. Reinstalled GSensor. Still not working for me. Looking forward to further development though.
To bad Do you have any GSensor build in? Does other software work that uses this sensor (HDWobble/HD2Wobble)?
GSensor
I do have a G Sensor built in. I have the game Teeter (labyrinth) . Works like a charm.
I will come back to you, if I continue working on it
Brilliant!
I've just installed it on my HD2 (using Duttys HG v0.9 WWE).
The only App I really want to use it in is MS Reader & I can confirm that it works there. However, there are a few enhancements needed before I'd add it to my permanently installed programmes ...
1.) Sensitivity setting ... it's far too sensitive (analogue or digital) ... I'd prefer it if a definite movement was needed, as it is, the slightest adjustment of angle (and none of us are rock steady! ) triggers the app.
2.) The ability to automatically enable or disable depending on which application had the focus (i.e. a whitelist & a blacklist) ... was a bit disconcerting when my home-page suddenly started switching tabs, etc!
3.) Calibration for centering (as suggested by Toggs) ... I definitely don't use my phone perfectly flat, but hold it tilted at all times ...
4.) ?? Mapping of the G-Sensor direction ?? i.e. I'm fine with left-tilt/right-tilt being page forward, page-back. But it would be nice if up-tilt/down-tilt were mappable to something else.
5.) This is 1. & 4. combined ... would it be possible to be selectively sensitive? i.e. set the up-tilt/down-tilt to a low (or zero) sensitivity & the left/right higher?
Thanks for a great addition to my HD2 experience. I'll definitely be donating once it's out of beta!
Thank you for your suggestions. I wil do my best to include that
SciLor
Does nothing here on my Touch HD
What should it do?!
Do I have to start that program to work or is it autostarted after a soft reset?
Should it "simulate" d-pad right button when i do this with my phone?
Doing nothing for me either. I am really looking to try this & spread word about it...Let me know if I can be of any help. I tried both ways but not working..actually nothing happens actually. Using TP2 unbranded with g-sensor enabled.
Nice, gonna try this.
btw. why are you giving me the finger in your readme

Yes, that will be great. For now its to much.
Maybe its nice idea to measure the curent state (position) of the device and use that as 0 position (starting) for G-Sensor every time we starting this software
I will do my best to give you a nice experience. I am currently planning that you can set up a standard behavior and you may also set special behavior for applications. You may choose if the GSensor should be calibrated on the programs startup automaticly, you may pre calibrate it for the application only or use the standard you set.
Mhh I hope I find enough time to make that features soon
SciLor
PS:
What about running it as a process, seperated from the config tool so there is any need of an open window in the background.
