on my wfs ive got giffgaff but i never get 3g internet does anyone else have this problem or had this and fixed it plz help.
I'm on 3G. Shows H (which actually means 3.5G ;D)
You need to be in a 3g area.

Hi i looked around and searched but i just dont know to word it, hopefully someone can help.
So i dont know what kind of internet package i have, but im using the apn internet2.voicestream.com
epc.tmobile.com does not work for me
im want 3g interent and i dont know if i have since at the task bar its a "H" or "G" or "E", sometimes randomly the 3G shows up.
so whats the apn for 3G internet on tmobile USA?
or is it only available on the G1 data plan

H is 3g...apns dont change connection types..3g is 3h but H is faster 3g

When you see the "E" or the "G" (by itself), those mean you're connected through the older/slower GPRS/EDGE. The "H" by itself means you're connected to a 3G tower that has been prepped for the new higher-speed 3G that t-mo is rolling out (although the backend elements to get the full speed are only just now starting to be turned up as well).
I don't know what APN to tell you to use...are you with Tmobile US?

Guys is it totally normal for your internet connection icon to continuously switch between 3G and H?? no matter whether I set it for WCDMA only or GSM / WCDMA auto..
I have noticed that when there is no current internet connection being made - the icon remains 3G, then when i connect to the internet it switches to H, but freezes up all the time. When I use my o2 sim on the same desire handset, the icon remains H and the speed is fast continuously without any pause or disruptions.
Any help would be much appreciated, also a copy of an APN for orange internet would be great so I could check it with mine.
Never noticed a H on mine. Only seen it go to 3G+
Mine goes between 3G and H all the time while im in my flat.
Not checked while im out.
Its probs a network thing, orange might not have a strong 3G+ network in your area so it keeps switching. I even seen mine on GPRS sometimes.
3G+ is HSDPA
What I'm trying to say is that my phone never displays a H just a 3G+. I have pretty good HSDPA coverage where I am

Various apps (Facebook, Market, Head to Head & Internet Browser) will only download data when there is a connection to the HSDPA signal.
The 3G signal has shown as 3 or 4 bars but will consistently not download any data. Once the HSDPA signal is found, then the download starts. This can be frustrating as there isnt always a HSDPA signal.
i tried to insert another network provider sim card and it showed 3G and when i tried to launch for example browser it instantly changed to HSDPA icon and loaded pages so i didnt check anything... (i couldnt recreate a situation when only 3g was available, no HSDPA)
I currently am on DHD by baadnewz 1.7b but this also happend on Stock Desire Froyo.
any advices ?

if so, then why nothing downloads when 3G is showing ? if hsdpa is 3g and hsdpa works fine...

It's difficult to comment. If you're rooted, try another custom rom with an updated radio.

If the "3G" signe appears in your phone, this means that it's trying to connect to your carrier's network. Once you're identified your can start to use data connection, then you get "H" "E" or another depending on the technology used by your carrier.
H goes for HSDPA, E Edge and so on...
So the lagg time is when your carrier tries to search whether you've got acces to a data plan or not.
I install 4.4.2 after I left to catch network in some places and have 3g internet. I wonder what can be ??

I updated from 4.4.2 to let the signal get 3g and having the carrier network
I have one problem with my HTC 10 (international version). When i am in the area with no 3g signal, i don't have internet access. There is E (EDGE, 2g) sign but without internet access. You probably think that internet is just slow, but it is not. I can't even send wp or viber text message. 3g and 4g work fine. Do you know where is the problem?
