That last option is to clear stored credentials. The "credentials" are certificates that are used to authenticate and secure settings that are mostly issued by admins under controled environments.

Thanks I wasn't asking about the last option I wanted to know about the wholse section. What's the password for? What will it do? Like what do I have to do or where do I go on my phone where it'll pop up saying " enter password to veiw credential" or something like that..?

I looked at my screen while it was plugged into the comp and noticed that there were 2 debugging icons at the top - one of them is debugging asking permission to access my gmail account. Why would it want to do that?
Check again. The symbol is used for more than debugging. Read the screen that comes up when you tap on it. It should tell you what specific app it is. Usually gallery 3d, Google voice or another Google based app.

didn't know I could tap on it without granting permission. when I go into it it says Gallery (this must be the new froyo gallery apk I loaded earlier today) wants to access my gmail account to access my picasa web albums, which I don't have set up on the phone.
Gunna set to deny - I don't use picasa anymore anyway. Thanks.
Yeah no problem. I can understand how that could be alarming until you understand how it works. That symbol is also used when an app fails to install.

I'm assuming you are talking about your main Google account. If so, the only way is to hard reset the phone.

I believe that the person who pays the bill's name will be there. I'm the third line and my phone identity under his name since he pays the bill. I'm not sure if that's what you were wondering. I do not know if the name can be changed though.

The pattern lock? You should be able to still get in with your gmail acct and password if you forget your pattern.

Especially if you double over already activated terminals while you set it, and they don't work when trying to unlock the phone.

mess up so many times that it asks you for your gmail password, then lets you change the pattern lock.
Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't believe there is anyway to pick and choose.
You can set it to sync with existing contacts but that's about it.
Part of why google was talking about dropping support

Yeah so really the only way is to have it sync with existing, at least that limits what syncs
Hi All,
how to get the Gmail application asking for a password rather than going straight to my inbox / conversations... ?
Thanks in advance,
Wolf
Sign out? Or get an app that can password protect other apps
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
I can't find any " Sign out " while i am in the Gmail app !
That will be a nice option though ...
I don't think it's possible to sign out of your Google account on your phone. There are probably some third party applications that can hide or protect Gmail.
Alternatively, you could create a second Gmail account and unsync your primary... just a thought I haven't needed to hide an account so I'm not sure what Gmail will do I. That scenario.
Good luck

Wow I could have sworn I had seen one, but I guess not cause I can't find it lol. Just get an app that password protects other apps

Since YOU didn't find it as well, lol
I will get an app that password protects other apps
Sorry about that

Hi All,
what app do you recommend to password protect other apps ?
Thanks
I used to use the one in zd box. And btw, if you force close the app that is password protecting another app it will stop protecting it. So don't find this out the hard way if you're hiding stuff from your wife or gf or whatever lol
