[Q] Compatible games?

I am a heavy gamer, and intend to buy a Iconia A100 for it sizes and speeds.
So, this will be place to list compatible games for A100, including Gamelofts games and others. If you already tested, please list on next posts and I will collect them all here on 1st post. Please also list the specific version for them.
Oh, thanks to vszulc remind, all THD games should work, as they are for Terga, aren't they?
THD games:
- Samurai THD

Good idea! I have a bunch of games installed on my A100, so I'll return later with some more details. But off the top of my head: All three regular Angry Bird games. As well as Angry Bird HD and Angry Bird Seasons HD. As well as the Tegra Specific titles that you can find in the Tegra app on the A100: Samurai 2 THD, Galaxy on Fire THD and Pinball THD.
You want some specific version numbers?
BTW: If there's a specific game you were wondering about regarding compatibility with the A100, a good start is market.android.com... You can see which one of your Android devices a game is compatible with on the www-market. Too bad they don't have that feature on the regular market app.
Sometimes a game will be compatible even though it's not featured there though, so its more of a rule of thumb...

I installed the sixaxis controller app to use my PS3 controller to play emulator games. I am loving it.
Has anyone tried "9mm HD". It doesn't work on the a100. I wonder what requirement it needs. It works on my phone.

Stupid Zombies doesn't work. I love that game. Works fine on my A500. Bastards need to get to fixing.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 works without problems

Dungeon Defenders is also pretty good, and its free in the Tegra Zone.

Order and Chaos
Has anyone been successful in getting Order and Chaos to rub properly? I have heard of other devices useing a all devices version but I cant seem to locate it anywhere..

You have to modify the build.prop to get O&C to work. The "all devices" hacked version no longer works as of July and another one hasnt been produced since.
To modify the build.prop you'll need to be rooted and have root explorer (or an equiv) and change this: ro.product.model=A100 to this ro.product.model=A500 in the build.prop file under system.
Once you do the above you should be able to find O&C in the market and download it. Works great, the only thing I've found odd are input boxes. Once you type something in a input box you have to minimize the keyboard rather than pressing enter or tab. For example at the login screen put in your login and then minimize the on screen keyboard.
A word of caution about modifying you're build.prop, if you don't know what you are doing you can soft brick your tab! So be careful, just because the above worked for me doesn't mean it'll work for you.
So you can add Order and Chaos and Vendetta Online to the list of games that will run on our wonderful acer tab

Is O'n'Ch still working on A100? I recently bought an A100 in frys and I'm waiting for it to come to Poland. First things first I will root the device, as I would love to play O'n'Ch on 7''. I have also sent email to gameloft about O'n'Ch not supporting the 7'' tablets,but they didn't reply me yet.

Dead space works great for A100, but i ordered this from gamestop so it came pre-installed.
Madden 12 works great! Been playing this for a few hours now.

Hows Dead Space. I want to buy it but look to be only exclusive to xperia play and acer a100 from Gamestop.

Same here. I see several games and app not being compatible with this tablet. Kinda sux cause I really wanted to make this tablet my all around device.

Has anyone tried editing their build.prop file to something like a Samsung Nexus? I have a Nook Color, and I'm constantly tweaking the build.prop with Root Explorer to get apps to show up and install properly. I'd try it right now, but I'm at work.

I'd like to try it. Can you point me to the file directory and which line to edit.
EDIT: found the file under /system now i see these lines related to device:
ro.build.id=HTJ85B
ro.build.id.display.id=Acer_A100_1.018.01_COM_GEN2
ro.build.id.system.id=Acer_A100_1.018_COM_GEN2
Which do I change and what do I change to?
Doing some search tells me to edit ro.build.fingerprint but still not sure what to edit it to.

Change this:
ro.product.model=A100
to this:
ro.product.model=A500
Be sure to put the system directory in read/write mode before trying to change anything in there. Oh and becareful changing things.. you can easily brick your device!
doing the above edit to you're build.prop will make most apps, and the system settings think you're device is a a500 which will let you run more stuff. I've had mine set like this for a while now with no issues and games run great, especially order and chaos and even 9mm.

I tried your method but I don't see anything different. Still cant open Order & Chaos. Is there any other app i cant test that works for a500 that does not work on a100?

Can't play NFS Shift & Hot Pursuit

The car will keep on go to the right-handed side by itself.

It seems no one try to play these two games in their A100. Disappointed.

Finally, I can play Hot Pursuit. EA had released a new version 1.0.55 which is compatible with Tablets.
Now I'm waiting the new version of NFS Shift.

Unfortunately that doesn't help those of us who don't have a tablet sitting around all I have is my phone to download data on, so it looks loke no SimCity for me. Have there been any other fixes to get this working?

N.O.V.A 2 HD

I just purchased this game for like 6bux and its not working. Its been force to close every time it try's to load pass the intro , is there anyway to fix this issue ? if not I will be getting my money back , lol

It should work, on my A100, it's working fine. I had some problem with downloading game data, but after several try, my download completed successfully. Try clearing application data, if still not working then try re-installing the same.

I have nova 2 for my captivate an like to get it on my acer a100 but it seams that the android market shows my a100 as incompatible x.x Gameloft shows it as being compatible but i don't feel like having to spend another 5 bucks for a game i already own x.x any help here running 2.007.04_com_gen1. I've tried copying the working nova 2 hd game apk from my cappy to the a100 but it keeps saying device incompatible (probably because cappy has a power vr an the a100 has a tegra an chainfire doesn't bipass the check on compatiblity still with the apk file either x.x)

I purchased it from Gameloft a couple of weeks ago. It woks with the A100 just fine. I know the Android Market shows it as incompatible, but it works if you buy it from Gameloft. This is also a recent thing. I bought my A100 in mid December, and for a couple of weeks Gameloft was showing zero games as compatible, now there are five. I am tempted to get uno, the kids love that game.

I'd really hate to spend another 5 bucks just to get the same app i paid for on the android market place. Dumb question but is it possible to get a hold of game loft to have them send the a100 compatible game to me? without having to repurchase.
I like the mobile gaming on the a100 atm its not as amazing as my pspGO but when it comes to doing more then just game the a100 beats the psp into the ground with extra functions <,<

if you root the tab you can use my custom build.prop to download it directly from the market.

ok trying to play nova2 wiht the altered build prop an found that there are some graphics bugs with certain images not being properly sized on the screen. runs at a steady fps but the image sizing issue is blegh >.<

[Q] not all apps on google play available for HTC one X

Sorry guys for asking this question might be noob or repeated,and I tried to searched already...
Firstly,I just got my HOX yesterday,and this is my first android phone,previously I was using asus transformer.
The question I want to ask here is why not all apps showing on google play website is available for HOX, I thought this problem is only happen to tablet but not phone.
yesterday, I tried to search 9mm,modern combat 3 and oregon trail:settler, these games are not there...is it a problem with the device compatibility or the ICS issue?and also I installed the real racing 2,it is not working...
please help guys...any solution or just have to wait?

Most Gameloft games don't work on the HOX at the moment they need to be updated.. The One X is very new we need to give dev's the time to update apps and games to properly work on the One X.

This is so annoying its halfway through June now and still NBA Jam, Virtual Tennis, Mass Effect, Men in Black, The Sims... ALL NOT WORKING!!!!
Anyone have any updates on this???

Tegra 3
Its mostly the games that you cant find really... and I believe its bcz of the Tegra 3 processor... those apps are not optimized for the Tegra 3 and its gpu so even if you get the .apk from somewhere else and install it, it still wont run....

Yeah, youd think they would be working on it. Annoying as I've bought some of those games on my old phone, ya don't expect it not to work on a better phone. They'd look great on the one x too

[Q] Can't start most games , Always black screen :( need help here guys

recently my phone is auto updated from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 , but after that i cant play any games that i downloaded from the internet for free , i downloaded gta vice city before it was running smoothly when i was using 4.1.1 (btw i have to say both of those versions was rooted) , but now i cant play anything that i downloaded , in gta vice city i click on the logo and its just going in black screen , when i press the home button everything is fine im back in the screen but like i said game is not starting , its the same for the dark knight but a little different because when i touch the dark knights logo first i see the logo of gameloft but after that all the same it goes into the damn blackscreen ..
but i can play asphalt 7 which i bought from google play.( but first time i tried to open asphalt 7 it was the same with the dark knight ;blackscreen after gameloft logo , i'm not sure why but it is working for now)
so my question is obvious why is this happening ?
is it because of 4.1.2 ?
because i did everything as i did in 4.1.1 ( i mean the installing parts of the games)
so thank you for reading my post and i appriciate any help i can get from you guys.

Try a full cache wipe and factory data reset after backing up your data
Then reinstall the apps you were trying(illegally ) and they should work like a charm on 4.1.2 as most apps work better on the new firmware :laugh:

Easy ; i wont pay for an app before i try . i use it with non legal ways and see if it deserve the money i will pay , if it is i will buy the original app like TuneIN , swiftkey sketchbook , power amp , asphalt and more ... i bought them all but first i try them for a week .
