i am sending my phone to htc for repiar it was on a custom rom. i used an RUU to put the stock rom onto the phone. but how do you put it back to S-On ?
This question has been asked and answered several times.
You'd achieve S-On by using the same tool to do S-Off, namely Radio S-Off.

My Desire HD got a problem with the casing, the battery-lit will not fit properly. I need to send it back to HTC for repair but my device is rooted. Customer support have told me I have to pay for this repair because rooted devices don't have warranty. I have rooted my device myself but forgot what method I used, here some info from bootloader:

1. How can I fully revert to stock without leaving any traces?
2. I have flashed another radio, will flashing a RUU rom change this back to stock?
3.Does a RUU rom change ENG S-OFF to ENG S-ON?
Thanks for your help!
1. I personally would use any one of the methods mentioned in any one of the MANY MANY threads already about this matter in the dev section. See my link in signature.
2. A stock RUU ahould do yes but don't hold me to that.
3. Unsure but see #1.
Did try a search, but no results on ENG S-OFF or ENG S-ON. Your link doesn't explain anything. So please help and post some relevant links to these so called MANY MANY threads.
Ok, I did a search for "Revert to stock" and the following thread came up:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403&highlight=Revert+stock
Talks about ENG S-OFF and reverting to stock.
If i lost my part 7 and can not get my original CID, what will happen if i installed a stock RUU and then turned S-ON without changing the Super CID?
I want to S-On my DHD. I couldnt find any thread in the devolopment forum for it. It was tmobile branded phone until yesterday, then i downgraded it using glod card to 1.32 and then the s-off and then custom ROMS. But now I am unable to find any thread relating to S-onn the device.
please direct me in right direction.
Thanks
1) You should find the right ruu for your device, run it to restore the system and hboot (I think the Eng S-Off will be S-On after this)
2) You run the tool for Radio S-Off again, and check Radio S-On. And run the process. I'm not sure about the CID option in the tool.
Then you will be good.
Use this tool for easy s-on. Read instructions first.
Hi!
I have a rooted HTC DHD and I want to put back to S-ON for waranty reasons. I have a certain RUU that I want to flash when returning to stock. I have extracted the rom.zip out of the RUU.exe. How can flash this rom via AAHK when setting S-ON
Thanks for advance !
I think there is a return to stock option within AAHK, not too sure where though..
When you fall, don't expect anyone to help. Expect the floor
Start the hack kit and press i think o. Anyway AAHK comes with a ruu which it uses when restoring to S-ON.
Long story short.....
Ive had my DHD for about 2 years now and have flashed the crap out of it without any issues.
My DHD is non branded, and Ive never had an issue with it.
I bought the Wife a DHD with Stock Rom, S-ON locked Bootloader etc. Locked to Orange UK
Ive scoured the XDA forums for an answer but unable to find it. Although I found Soooooooo many post with dead links or incomplete / Not working information etc.
I have used the HTCDev site to unlock the bootloader now, and also installed CWM and managed to install a Stock-rooted Rom.
SU works etc so I know I have root.
Problem is that I cannot get S-OFF at all nor Install my Favorite DHD Rom, SVHD.

Android Version = 2.3.5

Software = 3.12.405.1_rooted_by_nitr00
So, Ive tried Easy S-OFF and all I get is "Unknown Error"
Ive tried to install the same ROM that I have on MY DHD and it gets stuck at the HTC White logo screen.
Question is, how come the SVHD Rom wont run once installed, and how can I get S-OFF !
Any info would be a Huge help...

Did you forgot to flash boot.img? Being s-on and unlocked require you to do that every time you flash new custom rom. The boot.img can be found in the rom zip file.

So basically, If I keep S-on, every time I want to put a now ROM on the phone, I have to flash boot.img before I do ?
Any idea why I cant get the S-OFF tools to work though ?

Yes, because unlocked bootloader with s-on does not allow you to alter boot partition through recovery. From your post, you said you are using easy s-off. If im not mistaken, that tools cannot be used on bootloader v2 (new bootloader). The only way is by using aahk2 which can be found in general section. Im not sure whether u need to flash a ruu in order to use that tool. It is better for you to ask in that thread.

Actually found a way to do it via Terminal on the phone.
Ill see if I can find the link I used.
