[Q] PSX4Droid & Final Fantasy VIII

Quick question:
Has been able to get this working successfully? I'm on the latest version, and the game starts up fine...see the title screen, continue/new game, except when I select new game, it just goes black screen. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I would suggest using the better psx emulator fpse.. alot more compability and runs better

Really? i tried it, and it didn't seem all too hot. i could try it again.

Well FF VIII doesn't even load, but I can't even find the save location. Would you happen to know it?

Save location is in the .psx4droid folder mcd. Files r the memory card saves...your quick saves are ssn. Files if I'm not mistaken forgot where they r on ur SD card tho...which version of psx4droid u using?

Its awesome even has custom pads u can install if u don't like the defualt ones...I would try it again runs games better them psx4droid imo

The PSX4DROID version I was using was 3.0.6 [latest version].
I did try it, cuz my goal is to place those save states from psx4droid so that fpse will load them. I appreciate your help.
And I ask because I know where the psx4droid saves are, but I will try that.

noob question but how would i go about getting this like what do i need ...Requirements for example

I feel you...I wanted my final fantasy 9 migrate from psx4droid to fpsce this is how I did this...
1. Use psx4droid load up a save state and get to a save point and do a memory card save
2. Change your mcd001.mcr and mcd002.mcr to slot1.mcd and slot2.mcd files
3. Then go into fpse and change memory card settings to point to your mcd files u just renamed and you golden my friend

1. you need a psx emulator psx4droid or FPse (personal favorite)
2. the psx bios file scph0001.bin (google for it very easy to find it)
3. the rom of the game you want to play get it from this site http://www.doperoms.com/ (personal favorite)
4. have fun lol

Not to threadjack but since there are experienced fpse users lurking... has anyone gotten Castlevania SOTN to work well without serious audio issues? I've tried everything I could think of and it still stutters badly.

{Q} UOT kitchen

Sorry I'm very new to this but I'm trying to make some icons for kings new shift port but I'm not sure how to get the colors right I want something like cm7 green color with the glow not that ugly og color that comes with the phone and I don't want it to change color when the battery drops any help would be awesome I'm sure I'll get some thats why I love xda.
Edit: I'm on the kitchen now and looking at the icons can I just pick one of the (black status bar icons) then upload the files needed ? Could it really be that easy ? I ask cause theres one there that has pretty much what I'm looking for.

I hear ya, only way you will feel comfortable is to just play around man, then it starts to flow. What you mean you can't get the sdk working? I used to have a ton of sdk problems in windows, now I dual boot Ubuntu (Linux) and it amazes me how everything "just" works in Linux (which was to be expected lol)

I have vista I'm thinking if installing ubuntu seems it will be easier for me I don't know if my wife will like that though LOL its really her computer shed pissed I even use it now that I got a android .
On the uot when I pick something from icons (black status bar icons) I picked G15 Androidian thats all I want how do I get that to work I can see what it looks like do I just go right to file upload and upload the files I need to or is there something else I need to do first I'm sure I'm missing something.

Just upload the files you need (framework-Res.apk, systemUI.apk, and com.htc.resources.apk) then press submit it should work; assuming you're still on the kings sense rom.

trying it now hope it works ill let you know thanks for the help it seems to b taking a long time just to upload the files but then again my pc is very slow LOL...

Yeah dude its pretty easy now im sure you got it. Once it cooks your file you will have to wait anywhere from 5 min to 1hr. Just remember your pickup number lol.

Ok i picked what i wanted but when i go to upload the files i need it seems it freezes on me and its not uploading all the way does it take a really long time or is there something wrong here?

Are you by chance using google chrome? I had that issue on chrome, switched to Firefox and it ran fine. It shouldn't take longer than a few mins to get the files up unless you have dial up internet.

Oh and i just copied the files from the zipped ROM i downloaded on my PC SystemUI framework-res com.htc.resources was that the right way to do it ?

No I'm using Firefox also and i have clear wire for internet same as my evo the phone is faster though LOL really I've retried this a few times now and it stops uploading at the same spot every time I'll keep trying I guess its my internet and it sucks the kitchen keeps closing on me and tells me to wait.

Can this b done on the phone cause not joking its faster then my computer?

That's very strange man I literally just made a theme for CM7 theme engine and it worked fine an hour ago. My internet sucks also maybe its an issue with the kitchen ATM. Hmmm

With the icons G15Androidian do i just uncheck the baterry icons cause I'm adding a different battery and I'm sure there is one in that pack but they don't say what the name is for each icon?

Correct. You only check what you want/need that you're adding for your zip. Ex, you found a set in the kitchen you like, check only that and it will build the zip with the files you updated.

Yeah but do you have any idea what if any ones on the G15Androidian pack is the battery?

I'm not sure if its the phone the app or something else but my subscriptions are all gone and most of the videos I try to play crash the app. I have tried reflashing cm7 many times but it still occurs. No other app has any issue. Google search failed me so I was hoping someone might have an answer.

Did you go into settings-applications-manage applications-youtube and then clear data? I would try that before anything else. Also, are you undervolting at all? If I go to low with setCPU, youtube is usually the first thing to crash.

Its the app EVERYBODY has this issue and its pissing me off
If you read the apps reviews there plumeting because they haven't fixed it yet

The comments are great, lol. But in an effort to stay on topic, have you tried uninstalling then restoring an older version through Titanium?
This has worked for me NM the past.
Also, though it sounds noobish,have you cleared Dalvik and formatted /cache under mounts &storage? Always ask the simplest questions first. Damn A+ steps. ;-)

Are both of your subs not showing up when you go to "My channel"? Mine wont show up on the youtube widget, but do show up when I go to my channel. I clicked on a few of the recommended videos and about half caused FCs!

I don't use titanium. Clean installs only. I don't nandroid ever either. I know all the tricks for simple stuff since I've been on xda since my Samsung moment. I had figured it was YouTube being YouTube and having issues with everything. But I wasn't sure until I tested stuff.

Its happenning to me aswell. I found a fix that works. Go into cwm and wipe data cache n dalvik. It will wipe everything and you'll have to manually install your apps but it DOES work. Don't restore nandroid. It will bring back the bug.

I saw this fix somewwhere and it worked on my gf's epic running legendary 2.2 and samurai assassin (problem originated for her on acs ics 5.1). I did a factory data reset from the settings menu in android. After the phone reboots enter your account settings and restore apps with data using titanium backup. Its a bit tedious but it worked.

Apex 1.0.2 Auto brightness not really working

Hi guys.
Running apexs rom. Awesome by the way!! Thanks bigxie!!!
Anyway, the automatic brightness doesn't seem to be working at all. Not that I mind as I use it on 25% most of the time anyway but just asking as I might be missing something. Haha.

Youtube problem
Hi guys!
yesterday I installed the Apex rom which is awesome!!!
But still I have a problem regarding youtube.
I installed the zip file that includes all the google apps and now I'm not able to update the youtube application and the message that comes out everytime is as follow: The file of the package is not correctly signed.Uninstall the previous copy of the application and try again.
I tried to delete the application but I've not been succesfull in that because it comes out a message which says that I cannot uninstall it.
Sorry if I've been confused.

What I want us a copy of the music apo that doesn't require your Gmail account permissions. Can anyone point me in the right direction here??

POssible finding for Force close fix for S voice...plz read

S voice already runs perfectly using the zip in our theMes and apps section. You just have to use a Samsung ROM for full functionality.cm9 doesn't have all the Samsung apps so you will get force closes related to that issue

I installed SVoice on the stock ICS ROM for the T989 and the network errors kept occurring until I changed build.prop. Even after I changed that however, SVoice just kept FCing. Finally gave up on it and deleted it.

I have it working great on tdj latest tmo ics and thats with touch of color theme on top. Are you flashing zip or just trying to install apk?

I installed the zip via cwm, I removed .apks from /system/app to make room for 30MB voicetalk.apk, I set permissions, I changed owners, I re-installed via root explorer, I rebooted, and was still getting FCs. I was also getting constant network errors until I edited my build.prop to mimic the s3, but I was never able to stop the FCs.

I didn't change anything with root explorer. Just flashed and darkside cache wipe and rebooted. Voila..MAGIC!!(future voice)

Im pretty sure alot of people here didnt get that last part.. but I did so youre okay... But I have yet to get it working On my Galaxy S II so im fishtailing out the parking lot leaving mad...

I got the reference too lol. All I did was flash it, no cache wipe or nothing and it works fine... it's not as useful as I wanted to be though.
