no....underclock means to lower the clockspeed (from 1ghz to 900 mhz fkr example) and undervolt means to lower the voltage being delivered to the cpu at a given clockspeed.....you as the user can freely undervolt using setcpu but the kernel chef is the only one who can undervolt a kernel

Thanks!
Ok, 4 questions:
1)Does undervolting slightly affect the performance of the phone? If so, in what way?
2) Which kernel is better on the battery? Kingclick, our hydra kernel?
3) does it make sense to overclock slightly on an undervolted kernel.
4) which roms are most compatible with each kernel if there is a compatibility issue?

1. undervolting improves battery
2. hydra is better on principle
3. overclocking is never necessary....overclocking isnt needed at 1ghz, but if you insist in overclock, 1.113 ghz is good....or 1.15 but i wouldnylt reccommend 1.2
4. all sense roms work with custom kernels

I'm pretty sold on skyraider. But It s packaged with kingx. Have you tried hydra with skyraider? Does it perform better than king x and would you recommend it?

I'm not sure....but kingklick kernels are overvolted too

So if I have a stock rooted 2.2 Incredible and just want to save some battery, can I just drop a kernel in place and it will "just work" ? I have SetCPU lowering the clock when screen is off, would this be better?
thanks!

If I was you, I would flash your kernel of choice (mine is hydra ssuv v0.5) and definitely lower the screen off profile....and use a good Rom too...speed isn't always in the kernel you use, its in the Rom too...that's why I don't overlook....
And also, unpack and quadrant are just bragging rites, nothing more nothing less

WOW...just wow
bro, could you please not speak derogatorily of others?
Can someone post a link to a kernel that runs at the stock 1.5ghz but is undervolted? I don't care about performance. Just want the best battery life. Thanks!!

Almost any kernal is better in battery than stock

you can easily limit the CPU to not go over 1.5 or even 1.0
when i really want to save battery i keep CPU at 800 Mhz or 1.0 Ghz
Any of the kernels in the development section can be either under bolted or over clocked. I'm using synergy the way it comes out of the box and its great. Standby battery drain is unbelievable.

why dont u UV ur 1.5ghz to 1.0ghz voltage? or near there?
That would be underclocking not under volting

in CM ROMs it's build in
in other ROMs you can use SetCPU or faux or the other one i forgot the name right now

true, but i find it more effective than UV
yes, we can keep it at 1.5 Ghz with say -0.010v or something like that
it's just a minor hassle to tweak
you can open a Terminal in your phone and launch the command
some apps like the faux can let you control the voltage as well
Hello! there is any undervolt and underclock module compatible with stock kernel that can change the speed of cpu to 122mhz and less volts when demand is low or sleep?.

Hey guys i was wondering the note 2's gpu can be overclocked to 800MHZ in some kernels „ in that case can it compete with the likes of adreno 320?

At least, on mine, this is not true at all. Speedwizz Kernel.
Get a aluminium back cover with NFC, will help dissipate the heat and act as a heatsink, but frankly I think the cpu has more legs for overclocking beyond 1.8ghz but the gpu even undervolting gets too hot at 533mhz and causes throttling of the cpu from 1.8 down to 1.6... YMMV
Who knows how to overclock the Galaxy Nexus GSM GPU? I'm rooted with CM 11 and running franco.Kernel. Thanks for any solutions given.

I dont think you searched.. Or youre very new.. Many custom kernels allow overclocking through trickster mod.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium HD app
franco.kernel is already overclocked at 512 MHz and it cant be changed. You can try dirtyV (dont know which other kernel has that function, ASKP maybe) but 512 Mhz is highest clock you can set so it means you are having maximum Overclock already

I tried Trickster mod, no GPU overclock function. Well as far as I checked I haven't seen any options.

Its strange how 2D games like Spaceteam has lag at parts but Real Racing 3 is as smooth as butter. Maybe there's a Chainfire add on to fix this?

Im kindly sorry sir. I dont know what causes your lag. Did you undervolt the gpu (iva)?
