Stock EC05, stock browser, won't run a .gif to save its' life. I looked around and couldn't find an answer, sorry if this is old business.

GIF files are a picture file. Any decent photo editor should be able to open one.

How do I get the stock Android Photo Gallery in Sense?

I hate to say it but I actually prefer the candy coating user experience of Sense to that of Stock Android. While playing with CM5 there were many things I liked and many I didn't. As a result I went back to Sense. Perhaps it just because it's what I have grown to know over the last couple days.
Anyway, the one thing in CM I really did like was the Photo Gallery, which included Picasa. Anyone know what I can do to get that Photo Gallery into Sense?
I think I might play with some other Sense ROMs today. Maybe someone has already done the work for me.
Thanks in advance for any help.
i may be able to make a zip for you. wow im busy tonight. i have to make a theme for the droid/milestone, a theme and two zips for sense roms.

I don't mind doing it myself. I just need a push in the right direction. I'm technically inclined but 3 days new to Android. What exactly am I looking for? Is the stock Photo Gallery a widget or app of sorts?
If you are willing to send me something later, that's cool too. I'm just trying to suck in as much info as possible. I don't want to cook or anything but I'd like to be able to have better control of what I can do to my existing ROM.
Thanks!

it is an app. if you want a zip i can make one. if not, the app is located in the system/app folder of cm5. all you have to do is put the app in the tools folder of the sdk and adb push gallery.apk /system/app in rcovery.

Ok, cool. My plan is to play with adb today and install wireless tethering and update the kernel to support true AP Mode. I'll see what I can do with this too.
Thanks for the help. I'll let you know how I make out.

So I installed the app and it seems to be working just fine. Thanks.
I'd like a widget or something for it so it's open on a home screen without needing to open the app. Additionally, is there any modding of the app file that I can do fix or remove the camera button. It doesn't seem to work in Sense.
Thanks again for all your help.
not that i know of.

Yeah, I just extracted it from CM after I got the name. I thought it was also a widget but it's not. Thanks for the other post though.

There is the possibility it could also be a widget. I may be mistaken, but I think unless you actually installed the gallery, in order to use the widget you'd have to delete some file. Again, I may be mistaken, I haven't tried this.
EDIT: I'm just thinking this because I remember in order to properly remove the Facebook/Twitter/etc widgets from stock, one had to remove some sort of database to force a widget database refresh, because it only does that on a legit (un)install

Gallery replacement apps?

The gallery app on my g2 tends to be stupid when it comes to seeing when new files have been added to the sd card from somewhere other than the camera app. Any better alternativs?

I would looking because I hate the stock gallery. I use b&b gallery from the market. It's not the prettiest and looks like the g1 stock gallery. But it works great, is quick and what I was looking for. No glitches and I can see all my pics! Hope that helps you.

The only time my gallery acts up loading new pics is when I reboot my G2, but I expect that

It's cool because you can view your photobucket, flickr, picasa, facebook, and local galleries from the same app. (if you use all those services)!
Couldn't find b&b gallery..Just pictures is a good app tho..Reads my pics from my sd unlike the stock gallery 3d. Was having a bunch of trouble with the stock app..Thanks a lot

Perfect Sense Clock

Install the apk attached, go into the app and set location, and you're done.
Set the widget on your home screen.
Probably the best looking Sense clock that's actually easy to find.
agreed, very nice. thank you.
Nice, now I can finally have that beautiful clock!

If anyone want's LP Sense here is the apk. You can't just install it as far as I know it requires you to push it to system/app. It all looks good together.

Use an app like rom manager that can mount system files and copy it into the system/app folder.

I use to own a TP2. It's very nice. It had a special feel to it if you ask me. That's why I always think that our Epics are more than capable of handling Sense, because my old TP2 could, except I think it was 2.1 with touchflow 3d. The thing that stuck out the most to me was how badass my weather looked, and that gorgeous flipclock animation. They were so fluid and realistic. I so wish there was a port. =(

AT&T SGS2 MMS for T-Mobile SGS2?

Just saw the AT&T SGS2 MMS app recently. I like the way it looks and think it would be a fun change of pace from the T-Mobile MMS app (stock TouchWiz).
Is there a way to load the AT&T SGS2 MMS.apk onto our phone over the regular MMS.apk?

Just an FYI...that gave me the blurriest pix ever. From my own testing....using Zombie 2.2 ROM with the mms.apk file it comes with and Handcent is the best combination to go, since this fully supports WiFi calling sending and receiving with no postage sized compression, or blurry mms. Just my 2c....
Yes, I liked the app itself, but not the quality it gave me.
