Hello,
I have updated my wildfire whith the last nightly (177) and when i reboot i have a forceclosed message "com.android.systemui".
Someone can help me please ?
Sorry for my bad english, i am french.
Hello quentin2260
You can try this: go into recovery, whipe /cache and the dalviks chache and try to flash the nightly it again.
Erwin
I tried it but it doesn't work i have another forceclosed "android.process.media".
Wipe data/factory can solve my problem ? but i loose all my data/contact ...
You can always try, yes.
You can sync your contacs with the google servers so you will not loose them after a flash.
For your apps: look for "titanium backup". You can backup your apps + data, and after a full whipe you can restore it all. Just don't restore system apps, as you having problems with them!
Good luck!

try running repair permissions from rom manager and then rebooting
If you didn't completely wipe everything before install you will get this.
wipe all then reinstall
backup stuff first though

hi,
just installed the rom. but now i got problems with contacts. the contact app won't
load the contacts. and if i try another contact app it just crashes. any ideas why?
thx...
were you coming from a different ROM? did you do a full wipe?
I've got the same problem. I can see all the contacts from "call" menu, but when I want to enter details the app crashes. Whn I simply open contacts app, loading circle appears and nothing happens, sometimes also crashes after few mins of "loading".
Had the exact same problem weeks ago on InsertCoinHD 2.0.0, got used to it but it's kinda annoying. Both times I did full wipe of everything, however I restored contacts data using Titanium (from stock rom).
Tried to fix permissions too...
Used to get this too. Found out I hadn't done a proper full wipe. Now, after nandroid b/u, my procedure goes:
- Wipe data/factory reset
Then in mounts/storage
- format sys
- format data
- format cache
- format SD-Ext
Then advanced
- wipe Dalvic
Flash ROM.
I came from a LeeDroid ROM and until I tried this, I got the same problem with contacts every time. It drove me nuts! All good now!

came from original ruu (or how u call it )...before installing, i did a full wipe..but maybe i try the method of 777ace...
tell u guys later, if it works...
well, i did following things..
i did a fullwipe, then, wipe-dalvic and after it flash rom again..and now it works
perfect
btw: i'm using amon-ra for hboot..great piece of work..it also has a option to
format your sdcard with ext2,3,4 and so on..
Sorry to hijack this thread but I am using this rom and have a problem with text messages disappearing. When I receive a text, read it and then go back in to messages the inbox is empty. The option to delete old messages in settings is unchecked.
Any ideas?
Cheers

I normally wipe data, cache and dalvik, then install ROM and restore settings using Titaniuim - always the same problem. I'm starting to think that it might be related to my contacts data, did you have that problem even without restoring your contacts on a clear ROM install? Or, as you managed to fix it, can you restore your contacts without problems or you just sync them using Google account?

Try backing up your contacts/data with "mybackup root". Heard of a lot of problems with Titanium.
I have all my contacts saved on the google account (nothing on the phone itsels) and never had any issues like you're describing with viewing/editing contacts.
so the idea woud be... back-up -> wipe all + dalvik ->reflash ROM -> restore
i flashed to cyanogenmod 7 nightlies, and then i installed from the sd the google apps (because the rom didn't come with market) through clockwork mod recovery and when i restart the phone, there is a blackscreen after the htc!!! It doesnt load up the cyanogen mod!! I've been waiting for over an hour!!!
I don't know what to do to fix it!!!
Can somebody please help me. I appreciate it very very much!!!
hey bro... dont flash two zips in one go... just flash cm7.2 again.. then reboot into recovery and then format dalvic cache, format factory and etc.. and then rebot again into recovery and then flash gapps

as mhrsolanki2020 said ... When flashing rom, always boot it, and after reboot flash any changes that you want, like data/link2sd,gapps,gps fixes and so on ...
never flash few things in one step.
also clean cache and dalvik every time you flash new rom ..
I don't think he wiped data or cache.
You can flash cm7 and gapps at the same time with no issues.
I prefer doing it like this rather than multiple restarts and then I setup my accounts on first boot its never given me any problems.
Try again make sure in clockwork mod recovery you:
wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Then goto advance and wipe dalvik
Then flash cm7
Then flash gapps
Restart and all should be fine.
Good luck.
so are those the steps i need?
and can u give me a link of the gapps i am supposed to use please?

here you go mate ht tp://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
can you give me the steps i need to fix the black screen please?
Boot into recovery clockwork mod and do what I said above and you'll be fine.
so once i flash cyanogen i do not reboot first, but i directly flash the gapps as well?
Yes that's how I been doin it for many months
Make sure to wipe the data that I said in previous post or it wont boot.
Its an important step when flashing a rom.
Like the problems that previously occurred.
sorry for so many questions but,
is it either wipe data or factory reset or both?
"wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Then goto advance and wipe dalvik
Then flash cm7
Then flash gapps"
'Data/factory reset' is the same thing
Then 'wipe cache partition'
Then in advance right at the bottom of clockwork mod 'wipe dalvik'
Once done click back then chose install zip from SD
Choose your rom file then confirm.
Then when finished click back.
Then install zip from SD select gapps file and confirm.
Once finished click reboot system.
Done.
will this work for sure? or will it give me the black screen again?
If you do everything I said in the same order it should definitely work my friend.
Is your mobile a GSM or cdma? Does it use a sim card?
Thank you so very much!!!!
No problem.
I'm guessing your up and running And hopefully very happy.
Good luck and all the best.
You're a life saver!!!
Hi all,
When I answer calls the microphone does not seem to activate and the caller can't hear me at all. The only work around is to switch to speaker and the microphone starts to work. Have to keep headphones with me all the time
I'm on CM 7.1.0 jordan stable, should I reflash this ROM again?
Thanks.
Could be a hardware problem, but yes, just reinstall the same build to see if it is not a software problem.
Try to only wiping dalvik cache before or after flashing the zip (without wiping cache or data) first and you will not lose any of your current settings or apps.
Good luck.
Thanks AL, but wiping dalvik cache did nothing, so I made a backup with recovery and did a clean install and the microphone is working
I must have messed up something in the settings... any ways if I restore the backup is there a way to restore CM7 default settings and test? can't seem to find them :/

Well good that you now know that it's not hardare related.
The dalvik cache wipe was not a target solution on its own but just a step in what I would have done in order to keep yours apps, sms -and as much as you could- intact. So again; I would have just reinstalled the nightly AND wipe dalvik cache only (because it is always good to do so after a system installation).
But now, I would try to do this: wipe everything in cwm recovery (cache+data+dalvik), restore your nand and boot up.
If the problem is still there, then go back in cwm again and do what I just wrote above: dalvik cache wipe only and flash the nightly.
If it doesn't work, then backup your apps+data with TB, Astro or others and go clean install again...
Ok been re-flashing/restoring/testing... hence this late reply, the good news is that the microphone works now and I'm on the latest cm7.1 nightly.
The bad part is that the earpiece is dead?(on the current and clean install, maybe this was not working all along, with the mic) I know others have had issues with this? BUT seem to work only on skype calls, this would mean the earpiece is ok right, this is driving me nuts. any suggestions?
Or other recommended alternative ROM I can try or tests/debug form computer? really love CM tho.
I have Sony Arc and I try to install CM9
first I tried to install FXP123 and the touchscreen is not responding but the physical buttons is works.
Second I triend to install FXP126 and the touchscreen is working, After I do restart to the phone and after the touchscreen is not responding but the physical buttons is works.
After I triend to install RC1 and again the touchscreen is not working and the physical buttions is working.
I try to search the problem in Google and XDA forums and I dont found the solution.
please help me I want the CM9 not the sony ICS rom.
If you didn't Wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik then that's your problem, wipe everything before flashing and it should work, you can backup and restore DATA only on advanced restore at CWM later if you worry to lose your stuff.
if you wiped everything and this still happens to you then I am sorry, I don't know.

its not work
me too, by clearing up cache still doesn't work
Someone on CM9 support please help us
please help me
This might help you
NOTE: CM9 is a bit new and may have a few errors/bugs or may not be stable so that may be your problem, wait until a new RC has been released for CM9
1. Stock your phone to stock firmware
2. Make sure you do a “Wipe data / factory reset” and “Wipe cache partition” before installing a custom ROM
3. Before installing the new ROM make sure your phone fits the requirements needed for that ROM
If it still continues to be that your problem is constantly happening, try using CM7.2
Hey all,
I've been searching for a while now and decided I should just post my question finally. I have the Galaxy SIII, rooted, and running CM10 stable. For the last 3 months or so, my SMS app, Messaging, has been randomly force closing and crashing. The only way to fix it is by rebooting the phone. I've tried re-flashing the mod 5 times, and even wiped data and done 2 factory resets. Still no luck.
And more recently my "phone" app has been doing it too. It crashes when I open up the dial pad and drops calls randomly and I have to restart my phone for it to work again.
Both of these will happen randomly. Sometimes I can go 4 hours without having to restart my phone, other times I have to restart my phone every 20 minutes. It's really starting to bug me.
Is there an app that's known to cause these crashes? Or is there a possibility that the mod file is corrupt? Thoughts? Questions? Any help is appreciated!!
When you flashed Cm10, did you come from stock or a custom rom? Did you also format /system?
If you made a nandroid while on stock, I would:
Wipe data, cache, dalvik and restore that. Then (assuming you still have Cm10 and gapps zips on your device) I would wipe data and caches again, format /system and flash rom/gapps. Wipe data/cache and reboot.

When I flashed, it was from a previous CM10 ROM that worked fine. I reflashed because one of my apps was getting an "unknown" error, and now this crashing is happening. I don't think I have ever done "format /system". How do I go about that?

To have a completely clean install, you should always:
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik (under advanced)
Format /system (under mounts and storage)
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Wipe data
Reboot
Be sure to have whatever you feel important backed up as this will wipe your system. Make a nandroid first if you don't already have one

Thanks!! I'll try it tonight and post with the results tomorrow. Last time I flashed it took 2 days until the problems arose again.

There shouldn't be any issues if you have flashed correctly. Many users have also noted that a custom rom performs better when returning to stock and then flashing the new rom via the above procedures. Feel free to pm me your results
What the???

I can't see this is a good thing, but I'm a noob.
You're saying after installing the new ROM and apps (Flash rom Flash gapps), you then go back into CWM and select 'wipe data/factory reset'??
Again, I'm a noob and maybe I'm reading this wrong!
Doing a wipe again right after installing a new ROM sounds so wrong to me.
What would that do?

This step (step 7 in your list) isn't necessary.
When in doubt, follow the directions in the OP of the rom you are trying to flash, usually can't go wrong.
