[Q] Throwback day? - About xda-developers.com

Lmao, every couple of page loads I get thrown back to a very basic, old school looking xda forum... having some kind of 60's party today?

[REQ]Iperov's Pocket Guitar

Hey , Can anyone upload Iperov's Pocket Guitar Sources or Similare Application , Links are dead in the main Topic .
Thank you
Yes my friend. I can help you, but first, let me tell you my tale...
It was a small village that I grew up in, probably much like your own. People laughed and cried, but we all loved the place we came from and that kept us together. Then in my early 20s I was visited by a knight of the realm. He had been given a quest, an almost impossible quest, but it was his duty to see the quest done, or die trying. Over the following months we became friends, that knight and I, and shared many a tale of fortunes, both good and bad. He became a brother to me, and I a brother to him. He trained me in the ways of combat, and I trained him in the ways of life, both of us learning the most vital lessons that the other had to offer.
Then came the day. My Brother had to leave. His quest awaited him, and he longed for the journey in a powerful way.
He gave me a map to show his route, in order that I may one day follow in his footsteps and see the monumentous journey through which he had struggled. The journey would be easy for me as he would have slain the many beasts along the way, and I would merely be an observer to the aftermath. That was the plan, but as we both know, in life, sometimes things do not go to plan.
Only two days after my Brother left our small village did he return. He had been poisoned by dwarves along the way, and he was now close to death. His final breath was a laboured breath, but it carried the words "it is your quest now, my Brother".
I knelt in the muddy street, my Brother's head in my lap, whilst I cried out into the raining sky "WHY GOD? WHY?", but God did not answer. He did not need to. I already knew what must be done.
And so, after an almost impossible effort, and losing many, many dear friends and loved ones along the way, I managed to struggle my way across the mountainous terrain, fighting off many vicious animals, not to mention the murderous mutated demons and creatures of The Pit. I faced The Mighty Baal himself and we fought... oh how we fought. At times I felt like I'd been fighting this monstrous demon forever, blow after blow ripping my life from me an ounce at a time, until I finally landed the fatal blow that freed us all from the uncertainty that had been raised by the quest.
This was truly an historic adventure that would be talked about, in a hushed voice, but a hushed voice filled with awe, for many generations to come.
I did it all for you my friend. This was an epic struggle, but I finally found your answer...

A pm to the op is probably your best bet then. Good luck in your quest

why all the theatrics?

What's with all the theatrics around here? If someone wants to leave, then go. Don't make a big production out of it.

Welcome to XDA :/
I've never understood the concept of "leaving" a message board. It's a website. You mean you ore no longer not going to type the url into you browser?
It's like announcing you are officially leaving Google. So don't check the site anymore. Who cares?
It's XDA. I've seen quite a few "blow ups" over the last year and a half for various things. It seems to happen every few months. I think if someone wants to leave, just go then. No need for drama or fan fair, and that way if you decide to "come back" a few months down the road, it won't be odd. If you decide to freak out and say I'm not coming back, then show up days/weeks later to announce you're back, just seems like a childish thing to do making you seem like a drama queen.
To each their own I guess. It is the drama that is XDA at times.

[Q] Developers

I know this question is really just a time waster but when you're a cube monkey like myself you have to do something to pass the time.
I've been using Android phones for a few years now going back to my G2 Magic. And have been around XDA since my old HTC Dash on Windows mobile.
The question I've been wondering about is how do developers work? I can understand the individual developer working out of his home or office but how do development teams work? Take a big team like Cyanogen for instance. Is there an office somewhere? Does everyone meet at someones house lol? Is it all done through a server, an irc site, is there any sort of payroll? Have any of these guys met face to face? I'm a design engineer for a medical company and we use a lot of video web meetings. Do they interact that way. Do these guys or gals have day jobs?
BTW if this is the wrong section you won't hurt my feelings by moving it. I'm just curious while waiting for 4:20 so I can escape my daily hell.
Its a mix of everything you said lol

(PQ) How did you get your pseudonym? (username)

Hey guys, I was just on the meet and greet sticky, and I thought, "Huh. I wonder how some of these people got their user names?"
If you would like to, go ahead and post your reasons for/situations that led to/way of coming up with your pseudonym!
I'll go first.
So, I'm 17, and on that matter I'm a senior in high school.
We all know teenagers. They like to make fun. So, one day in gym last year, some girls got my original nickname, "Laizure", and, for reasons unknown, added "Boy" to the end.
This spread like wildfire. Within ONE day, the ENTIRE school, including the teachers, the principal, and god forbid, the janitor, ALL CALLED ME LAIZUREBOY.
At first, I was embarrased. Honestly, why make a nickname like that?
Then, I realized that it was a unique nickname. Nobody would guess it was my last name if used online, so it was perfect.
Now, people unwittingly scream my last name in frustration when I own them on Call of Duty, Quake, and Battlefield.
Sorry for the life story, but being a small forum community, it can't hurt, can it?

Yeah, I love that show... Haha, and I'm seventeen!

Got it at university, the latest miss popular in the class gave it to me. It stuck pretty well, so I just went with it.
I got it for my knack for analyzing and predicting human behavior, often exposing the less noble motivations people have for their actions(especially in the domain of love). This was considered Evil, with the capital E.
The other part comes from my fascination(not approval) of all things taboo and 'strange'. But I'm just really interested in how people view the world, and why they see it the way they do, even more so if their view deviates from the norm!

Xda feels like a big crap

Hello xda,
I am a long time member and currently your site is a piece of crap.
All the time ads opening links from itself.
What the hell is wrong with you?
Such problems appear on crappy torrent sites, now here?
Now on xda?
I thought you were professional, doesn't seem like that.
I can't surf on my non rooted S8 in chrome like 5 seconds. All the time a new page appears
Put your **** together. I can live with ads, but what you are doing is crap. You are ruining xda.
Do something against this, otherwise remove my account. I don't want to be part in such a community, who treats their users like that.
