Hello.
I did downgrade [2.3.3 to 2.2 ], root and s-off.
Installed a rom manager. Then downloaded the recovery [3.0.2.4].
Entry by rom manager works.
I turn off the phone, then pressed Vol down & power --> will run the bootloader, but does not work Vol up & down... I can't select the recovery why ?
After a while the phone is looking for something on the sd card.
Please help, everything ok ?

well what are you trying to do in cwm? flash a new rom? or are you trying to flash the pc10img file? if you are only trying to flash a new rom you should take the pc10img file out of ur sd card, if you are flashing the pc10img file then just let the phone update and do its thing. also you can boot into cwm by opening up rom manager and clicking reboot into recovery

This is the way hboot is designed to work. You will have to either rename the PC10IMG.zip to something else or delete it off your card first.

Can i have 3.x recovery file for t-mobile g2 please !!
Why would want an older recovery? Is it because the backups are in yaffs2? Or do you need a non touch recovery (bad digitizer)? I guess I don't see the benefit. When I get to my PC I'll try an upload it for you, but instill then

Have you tried to re-root the phone?
If you rooted using unrevoked, just hold vol down and power when the device is off, and choose recovery from the menu, rom manager uses a fake flash method and isnt needed if you have a custom recovery installed

well thats the problem i cant go to recovery via hboot only via rom manager
i used this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748618
i rooted the phone somthing like 10 times !
i think its a problem with the slcd screen root....
anyone encounter this problem ????
btw i have hboot 0.83.0001
help!!!!
plz.
i noticed you quoted "Clockworkmod recovery v2.5.0.1".
is this correct?
this seems like an old version - have you tried 2.5.0.7? i have used this with no problems.
yea its correct thats what i got from the guide for the slcd rood on the unrevoked way
do i need to root it again with an newer version of the custom img on the unrevoked
or just try to flash a zip file from the recovery ?
btw where can i get it ? can u post a link plz ?
thnx
Download amon-ra recovery, can be found in the android development section. Then boot up your phone and load unrevoked. Within unrevoked select custom recovery and select amon ra. Problems solved
/edit link to amon ra http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9207011&postcount=1
Works! thnx man
with amon-ra
i dident try the clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 because i dident find an active link to download from....
the only thing that sucks is that i cant use the Vol +/- to switch options only the trackball.
but thats another problem....
2.5.1.8 is actually the latest ClockworkMod Recovery. Here is the latest update, I believe it was updated early last month. I know you now have Amon-RA, but I'll put it here for anyone else who may happen to stumble across this thread looking for help.

Rooted? Access to Recovery(CWM/AmonRa)? Does Fastboot work?
I assume you are not branded, because you did not mention it.
Install HTC sync. Download this rom: http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
Close htc sync if you have it running. Then run this ruu. You could also try a different computer if it does not work and make sure you run as administrator.
If above steps fail try this method:
You can extract the ROM.zip from any RUU to install via ZIP
Start the RUU and once at the first main screen click Start>Run and type
%temp%
now, find the newest folder and in there will be a ZIP file called Rom - copy this to your desktop and rename it PB99IMG. (Don't extract the file) Now copy this to your SD card and start the phone in HBOOT (turn it on whilst holding volume down). It will find the file and start the update. Just follow the instructions...
Do all this while not plugged into your computer. Thanks to Eddyos.

it is not rooted. fastboot cant start. only error screen.
I dont know what is CWM/AmonRa? i did not try. can you explain how to do it?
i say again: i have tried all shipped roms. And fastboot does not work.So i cant update by sdcard.
If your Phone is branded try a Goldcard: http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/
Try the latest RUU: http://www.multiupload.com/LEJCW182AH
or: extract the ROM.zip from the RUU put it on your SDCARD and rename it PB99IMG.zip. Reboot to Bootloader
You have to be in Fastboot Mode for this. Boot your Phone in Fastboot with volume down+standy by button to enter the Bootloader. Choose Fastboot with the Side Buttons (aka Volume Keys) and confirm with StandBy Button (upper left).
To get the ROM.zip start the RUU, shortcut windows+r, type %TEMP% and search for ROM - http://t.dex01.de/fHYbU.

I am new to the forums and have was refered by someone else to this site for rooting my evo, i located a new sprint lovers all in one rom. I followed the directions on for placing the zip file on the card and booting my phone up. I see it read and load the file once complete i am back at the fastboot menu. i take out the batt to reboot the phone and it still has all my items and does not appear to be running the software. I am i loading it correctly or did i miss something along the way?
Thanks,
Mike

no i just put the zip file on my sd card then holding down the "down vol" i powered up the phone. It then loaded the zip file and went back to the screen with fastboot, recovery, clear storage, simlock, hboot usb. i removed the battery and rebooted. I guess that is not the correct way.

Are you using amon?
I am not sure what you mean about amon? This is the thread i downloaded the all in one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118063
Are you S-Off? Turn off your phone, hold volume down + power button, and look at the screen. At the top, does it say S-Off?
If it says S-On, you can't do anything. If it says S-Off, then look in my signature for my recovery. AmonRa. Click the link, download the PC36IMG.zip and put it on the root of your SD card. Turn off your phone, hold volume down + power button, and look at the screen. It'll ask you if you want to update. Yes, you do.
Go back to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118063
Download the All-in-One again. Turn off your phone, hold volume down + power button, and look at the screen. It'll ask you if you want to update. Yes, you do.
It says "S on" what does this status mean?
So now i have spent the day reading all about rom's and rooting i have found most answers. S= security on since i have not rooted my device before. I now understand that there is nothing i can do untill a root is available for the 2.3
Is there anything that con be done to a stock non rooted device with 2.3 to get the wireless tethering ?
No wireless tether, sorry. Use pdanet for wired tethering, but look in the development section. There is a thread about modified Rosie that will work for unrooted.

no... just.. no.. please don't give false advice and false hope.
Are you sure you're entering your serial number correctly on the revo site? Just to make sure, take out your battery and type in the number labelled S/N:
when you've done that, copy the number given to you on the site, and when you're in cmd paste it (on the top left corner press the cmd icon, edit, paste) when you're running the revo program
yeah it was me putting the wrong code in (Face Palm)
Ok iv done that how do i revert back to 2.2 from here ? (still stuck on 2.3.3)
Bortak you got Thanks
1. Download the downgrader
(CHECK MD5!! 6c482ccfa6b7093de4ee1a5804ccbdfc) and put it in your c:\

2. Download attachment names "fastboot.zip", and unzip it into your c:\
3. Reboot into fastboot mode (power off, hold back & power), open cmd (start menu, accessories) and type
Code:
cd\
fastboot flash hboot bravo_downgrade.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
4. Once you have flashed that. Run the latest WWE RUU
You will now have the stock android 2.2, however, I personally would recommend using custom ROMs with a rooted phone.
ok im lost im really sorry....
Is there another simpler tutorial?
Sorry im a big noob lol
thats pretty much as simple as it gets... let me edit it a little for you to make it easier I'll put some images in too
i get this error..... fastboot failed to start because AdbWinApi.dll was not found?

oooohhhhh...
okay well lets try to use this application then.
Download it from that site ^
boot into fastboot mode and plug in via usb
tick "hboot" and browse for the "downgrader" you put in your c:\ and then press begin.
Once you've done that, use the volume keys on your phone to navigate to REBOOT BOOTLOADER and press power
then, run the latest WWE RUU (link in previous post)
i didnt have to reboot it... it did itself is that ok ?

yes that's fine, I don't know android flasher that well cos I personally don't use it.
So now, when you go into bootlaoder, it should say REVOLUTIONARY UNLOCK.
you should now be able to flash the 2.2 RUU
it says AlphaRev Unlock

yeah, my mistake
so yeah, now all you have to do is flash the 2.2 RUU from fastboot.
how is that done as i keep getting a error saying Bootloader version error [140]
:S
i swear im going to be crying in a min lol I have lost S-OFF and now its S-ON and also the HBOOt is 0.93.0001
so wait.. what exactly is the situation?
i tried to 2.2 in fastboot it never worked it rebooted.... so i tryed flashing through windows (never worked) and now i lost the AlphaRev Unlock writing in Fast boot and S-ON is back.
but does it boot into android?????
yeah 2.3.3
oh ok thank god you scared the sh*t out of me... ummm... okay well if that didn't work then I dunno what to do... I'd just recommend a custom ROM.. you'd have to S-OFF, and then flash it through recovery.. that's my best advice.
Hey guys
today i bought my htc one x and its an amazing phone! i did s-off and installed the recovery but now how do i install the rom itself?
i downloaded the android revolution hd rom and its a zip file...how do i flash it?
No S-OFF yet you've unlocked your bootloader. Place the file on your SD card flash the boot.img via fast boot once done flash the zip via recovery.
Instructions will be on the rom thread usually in first post.
To get into fastboot press and hold power button and volume down button for a few seconds. You can also get into recovery with the same buttons. Read some posts on how to flash.

Go to your computer and download this: http://netload.in/dateigLuXPyJAwe/fastboot.rar.htm Open the .rar file and copy the fastboot folder to your computers C: drive. Copy the ROM (which is a .zip file) to your phone. Open the .zip file of your ROM on your computer and find the boot.img file. Copy it to the fastboot folder that you just created on the C: drive. Connect your phone with the computer. Boot your phone into Bootloder. You do that by holding down together both the power button and the volume down button for about 10 seconds. If it doesn't work on the first try, do it again. When you do that, navigate to fastboot by navigating through the menu with volume up/down keys and pressing power to select something. Run the "Install Boot.img.bat" script in your fastboot folder. When it's finished (should take about 3 seconds), select HBOOT from the FASTBOOT menu on your phone. There you navigate to the RECOVERY option and select it. There you should do all the wipes that the developer said you should do. It's usually best to wipe Data, Cache and go to advanced > wipe dalvik cache. Then you go to -install zip from sdcard > -choose zip from sdcard > navigate to wherever you put the ROM and install it. Go back and select -reboot system now. That should work. A thank you would be nice btw And before you post questions like this, you should use the search function first. There is a 99% chance that your questions has been answered before.
