Battery Power - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know why the battery percentage goes way down after a reboot? Should you not reboot, but do a power off and back on? Or is there another way to fix this.
Thanks

It's just a bug in the battery reporting. There really isn't much that can be done about it.

[Q] Phone off, charging battery. ==> blocked!

Hey everybody!
I noticed yesterday, when I try to charge the battery of my GN with device turned off.
The screen is the wohle time showing a battery icon, with quite high brightness.
This icon have no motion, no bars. (you can't not see how much the battery is charging..)
And the worst part: the wohle time the phone did not react when I pressed the power button. Therefore I had to remove the battery, put it again, and turn on the device again.
Question: Is not possible charge the battery with the phone off?, I mean, without removing the battery for turning on again.
why does not show any info about charging status when device is turned off?
Did you noticed this issue?
Thanks in advance!!
I charge my phone with the power off no problem.
You can push power button quickly to see if the GN is fully charged

Are you using a custom recovery image? i.e. ClockWorkMod?
If so this is the cause. It's a bug, it's being investigated.
Nobody have noticed?

Doesn't rom manager use a fake flash method? So, technically, CWM isn't really installed fully on your phone from what I understand.
Same troubles here, CWM installed via adb later installed with ROM-Manager
I did it via adb as well.
can we do it with free rom manager version? or do I need the professional version??
I had a look if there is a difference between install CWM by adb or by ROM-Manager... still same issue no change.
Maybe not the Recovery is the problem, maybe its the Superboot Images?! Makes more sense to me
It makes no difference how CWM was installed.
It only hangs the phone if the battery is 100%.
So for those that have not experienced it, I think your battery != 100%

unfortunatly there is no other Superboot image then the one from MoDaCo
I posted a link to this thread here, so maybe the developer can help us
until we found a way we realy need to take care that our battery isn't too low

[Q] Nexus 7 (2013) does not turn on

Once or twice a week when I press the power button, the device doesn't turn on. I then have to hold the power button for several seconds to reboot it. I'm not sure where I read it, but somebody mentioned that it could be related to the auto brightness setting. Unfortunately setting the brightness to a fixed level did not solve this issue. Any other suggestions?
I'm on stock 4.3 (JSS15R)
I'm not trying to be a prick here, this question is just me not knowing all the facts.
When you power the device back up, how much battery does it have left? Is there an app that's draining your battery in the background?
If it's not the battery running out, have you tried a factory reset?

With 'turn on' I mean getting it out of standby mode. I don't power off the device completely.
The battery percentage is not the problem. It sometimes happens with almost full battery. There doesn't seem to be a draining application.
I haven't tried a factory reset yet. I want to try that if nothing else helps.

Hmm. To be honest, I'm not sure what it could be. Barring a hardware issue, I would lean towards trying a factory reset.

Battery Drain

My 10 now is starting to drain battery real quick without doing anything. No unusual apps draining much. I used battery tester in the secret testing menu thing and it said my battery is fine but I don't think it is. Any app or something to test battery or any way to test if it's rom related?

Installing GSam battery monitor from the Play store would be a good start. You can monitor wakelocks and app usage, which can help diagnose your issue. How long does your battery usually last after a full charge, and what kind of screen on time are you getting? Also, does the phone ever get warm while you're using it?

Not sure how to read gsam battery logs but here is a screenshot and phone does not get hot. With not much use, I only get from 10am to around 2 to 3pm which is not normal for me.

From the main screen, you should have 4 icons at either the top or bottom of the screen. The second icon from the left brings up the app usage screen, and there is a drop-down menu at the top so you can view different things, like kernel wakelocks, etc.
OK I see but what am I exactly looking for? Wake locks? Not sure what's good and what's bad in terms of %s and what not

Like I said, charge your battery up to full. After a few hours off the charger, post screenshots of the main screen, app usage screen and kernel wakelock screen.
Also, press the triangle icon on the main screen and make sure "Since Last Full Charge" is selected.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary, but that doesn't mean there isn't an issue. There are a couple of things you can try. First, you can try and recalibrate your battery by turning the phone off and holding the power and both volume buttons down for approximately 2 minutes. The phone will cycle on and off a few times, which is normal. You can see how the phone works afterwards, and if that doesn't remedy it, I would RUU and start from scratch.

Extreme Moto Z Play Battery Drain

Hello,
My battery has been draining fast. I mean, EXTREMELY fast. I looked into this in the settings, and "10185" is taking up 64% of the battery. I don't know what this is. Any help is appreciated!
Any extra details that are needed I can provide
Thanks,
Zachary Deem
Give us screenshot of your battery usage.
Settings/Battery/Screenshot of all usages
I charged it a bit and then took it off the charger as you can see in the gain after the dip.
Let me know if you need anything more.
Thanks,
Zachary Deem

Click on that usage of "10185" and send screenshot.
And also Reboot(power off and turn on)your device after taking screenshot.
And see if that "10185" is still there.(After Reboot).
Then share the results with us.(If it exists or not OR the problem is solved or not).

I did do a reboot, and "10185" still shows up
A process ID like that normally means it's an app that was removed.I would suggest putting your phone into safe mode and charging the battery to 100% to wipe the stats. After that see if the drain is still high in safe mode. That will help determine if it's an app issue.
If it's still there then try wipe cache partition after that.
And the Last option will be hard reset which will definitely solve the problem.
I know users don't want to reset their device frequently so i suggested the above methods.
And also, Wipe Cache Partition doesn't clear any data or file in the device.
Rouge app, take out your SDcard, backup what you can, carbonitesms, etc. Reset data.
Unistall app in last in, first out order. You may find the fiend.
I keep app intstall tracker monitoring for this purpose

Hello i do have this problem also, i created a thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/help/lg-g7-plus-screen-issue-aod-fingerprint-t3954480 . Maybe you could spare a tought. Thanks in advance
Try reverting the display size back to the lowest setting. It worked for my wife's phone in bringing back AOD. Who knows a change in the font may also be creating the error.
