What tweeks I can apply to toastcfh kernel 2.6.34.5 to get maximum performance at maximum speed and best battery life at low settings. I just compiled toastcfh and got score of 1839 on quadrant. I wonder if there is config file for evo with some performace tweaks that I can download or pointers on what to change. Is unsafe to set evo down to 128mhz ? Can anyone points me to any patches. I can't get camera to work and fm radio because camera drivers seem to be missing .h file. I fixed all compile errors but FM radio freezes and camera. I belive new cyanogenmod RC1 introduced 3G speeds bug. Speedtest shows very low download speeds. What kernel drivers is being used for 3G data?
Hi guys, let's see which android port/version/kernel give best results on htc our blackstones,so the community can see which ports are generally better than others
download linpack from market and post results here
DEVICE: blackstone
PORT: xdandroid
SYSTEM: FRX03
KERNEL(zImage/modules): 2.6.27.46-01253-gd53ddf6
CLOCK: 528 MHz
MFLOPS: 1.991
TIME: 42.11
PERSONAL NOTES:
stability: its ok,although i get occasional hang which either resolves itself or FC window, in which i choose to wait and problem resolves very quickly if not instantly
battery: can survive a day with moderate use (wifi,phone,etc)...unplugged the device 6 hours ago, have wifi turned on for about 4.5 hours, downloaded a few apps, made a few calls and it is at 70% i will post more info later today though
bug: wifi won't work after you twice turn it on and turn it off,and 2D is choppy and somehow blinks, but 3D can run up to 15fps on quadrant
cheers
EDIT:i'd like to see latest neopeek and spige's one, though i'll try them myself later
UPDATE: battery: it's been about 15 hours since i plugged out the charger. wifi has been turned on for about 12-13 hours,i downloaded some apps, opened a web page or two, made several calls, ran a few benchmarks, rebooted two times (one was necessary because i accidentally turned wifi off and couldn't turn it on again(the bug i mentioned),and the other wasn't caused by some bug or anything, i just needed the sd).so far so good i believe...15 hours is fine for me...i'll post when the phone dies out
UPDATE 2: battery: blackstone is dead...battery went out after exactly 16 hours, wifi was on for about 13-14hours...everything else remained pretty much as posted above
EDIT 2: is it just me,or the clock stays 10 minutes behind overnight...my alarm rang 10 minutes later than it should 2-3 times already, day after day,and the time was ok every time i checked it before going to bed...weird
EDIT 3: oh yes, i forgot occasional calls without sound, which happen just once in a while, so they're kinda acceptable, the solution is to finish the call over speakerphone or to make the call again

So many views and no reply! So I thought I'd reply and say good luck. I would like to know which Android build works best on the Blackstone so I hope you get some feedback.
thank you mister turtle-guy i was thinking that people might be willing to find out which one is "the best"...and i thought that there will be some feedback....BUT nevermind,i'm gonna take another sd and put other ports...and let you all know
cheers

could you separate the results for each one,and do linpack benchmark for each one as well, plase? and by the way what froyo x versiona re you using? 1.12.?
and did you try the trick that tiag8 did for the camera on rhodium (double kernel)...can it work with our hardware
i dont what a linpack benchmark is
i am using 1/17 version and 1/12 i just deleted Sense X (need space)
no i havent tried the camera as it is pointless as no one has done it yet
the camera app works but i dont see nothing (i havent tried the camera kernels as it crashes when i boot to android

yeah, that's what i thought too...does the 1.17 necessarily have the "mute call" bug

hey guys im using MIUI and have this problem.when i turn on the pgone and overclock it barel like to 1036 and go in linpack nad get aboyt 38 in linpack then i do some otger things and teh score on linpack is 29 give my phone a break after and 29 again after reboot couple minutes 38. by the way which roms you suggest for being stable fast and that you can overclock clock them thank you for your help.
Hey guys:
Ive done a couple of antutu benches and found that my graphics scores are significantly lower than results posted by other people. (250ish for 2d graphics and 790ish for 3d graphics, comparing to over 1200 as posted by others. Another 'issue' I noticed is that when I turn on force hardware rendering, the performance drops to ~100 and 690 for 2d and 3d graphics ).
I know that benchmarks are not direct indicators of real performance. but i couldnt help but wonder if there is something wrong with my device.
Does anyone have a possible explanation for the scores?
(I'm running AOKP B25 with franco 18.4)
Thank you
UPDATE:
ok I just wiped and flashed aokp B26 with no custom kernel, and the performance is back to normal.
I'll try and duplicate the problem and find out what was causing the problem
I just ran an antutu benchmark and I'm running AOKP B26 and Franco 18.4. I got 2d: 282 and 3d: 1197 with stock franco settings, so your 3d result definitely looks a little odd. Doubt B26 is the reason since it didn't tackle anything related to that in the changelog IIRC.

thanks for the input. Could you do a comparison between having force hardware acceleration enabled and disabled?
Thanks

Sure.
Second time without forced acceleration, 2d: 286 3d: 1201
With forced acceleration, 2d: 140 3d: 1202

thanks.
After wiping and flashing, I'm getting 280 1200. Now I'm trying to find out what the problem was...
Well I am glad you managed to fix it for now.

I still have no idea what the problem was though... I'll try to restore all my settings and apps and see if the same problem arises again.
Thanks for your help
EDIT: I found out how to fix it.. I needed to set Governor to Lionheart mode with Skydragon G3 rom and D851 rin 1.8.5 Kernel. Now when loading stuff, it goes up to 2.7ghz same with ANTUTU.
Browsing using Chrome stutters when loading CNN mobile website. It takes 10 secs for the website to finish loading then I can scroll without stutter. Is that normal? Also tested with UC browser, same problem.
I downloaded Cool tool system stats. I was monitoring the clock speed. Loading website is around 1.5-1.7ghz
Using Antutu benchmark, i'm getting 1.5ghz with 95% cpu usage. Even my Nexus 4 is faster than this phone.
Tested many ROMs.. all the same result. Currently using Skydragon G3 with D851 rin 1.8.5 kitkat kernel overclock CPU to 2.7ghz with thermal mod (OC one)
Getting 30k with Antutu. Sometime I get 39k. Seems like thermal mod doesn't help? When the phone is cool, I get higher score.
