[Q] keyboard fix for gb - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to roll the keyboard skipping fix (from mkasic (sp)) into the AIO mod? Or is it different because it's kernel based?

It's in the kernel so we have to wait for kernel source code.

Thought as much. Thanks!

AOSP or close to stock Gingerbread?

I don't like any of the roms I see and want to completely customize my own rom. Is there an up to date AOSP build for EI22 or an ext4 rom with no themes at all? And minimal tweaks? Some of the themes on these roms don't look very good. I'd also like a working version of allshare for Gingerbread. Thanks in advance.

Nope. You can grab the stock release mostly untouched that Noobnl packaged and work your own mods in and remove the bloat.

Does it work on ext4? And will flashing a kernel break things?

EXT4 is kernel dependent. No but the kernels here have a lot of mods in them.

The mods are fine, they'll actually save time in most cases, thanks.

Shadow kernel v.1.1+ (mtd)

So does anyone still have this version of the kernel? The one with oc & uv. I know its very outdated but I have never seen any kernel run as well as that one did on my phone. Idk how I lost it. I tried downloading it from the kernels thread but its link is dead. Does anyone have it lying around on their computer somewhere?=)

Bbelos is about to release an FC09 kernel if you wait a day or so.

That would be good. I guess I'll just wait until that comes out and see how it runs.

Or if you're in a rush you can extract the kernel from simplesensei new Rom. It has bbelos FC09 kernel built into it.
It's a simple copy and paste

Turn off capacitive buttons

I know CM9 has this feature where
The capacitive buttons turn off until u click them again. Can this be done on gingerbread? I'm running The people's Rom 2.2

It can be done if you write it from source into the framework good luck

Despite this smart remark... he is correct it has to be written into the framework or would require the kernel to have the the code to disable it and an app to toggle it disabling and enabling.

just wanted to let you know that Auto rotate is glitchy, and ROM Controls button FC's everytime. The Aroma Installer experience was awsome lol

The only way to enable this is to build the setting into the ROM, easiest way would be to flash a ROM like cm that supports it

Hello, you can use my rom rom. Its called CyanKang and you can find it in the dev section. Its a clean CM10.1 with original kernel and some futueres on top of it. Its as stable and smooth as cm10.1.2. Good luck!

Nice, please report you experience.
There is a way off doing it yourself: Fork Cyanogenmod source and cherry pick the commit. I can assure you you will find no app version (this is not ios).
Lbe does it.
