I have tried logging into facebook for android app and fb sns acct on both the new eh06 deoxed and urban legends latest eg22 rom. So how do I get AOSP to sync Facebook contacts?

I went to add a Facebook account, and it just takes me to the Facebook app login. Nothing shows up in accounts and sync.

I use syncmypics personally.
That's what I had to resort to. I thought everyone was mentioning that Android 2.1+ had native Facebook sync.
Not to my knowledge.
Um, yes acutally.
EVO's have a Facebook app that is SUPPOSED to sync contacts. But as of late the FB servers have not been syncing anything and it isn't just the rooted devices.
A friend of mine is running a 2.2 rom (NON cm6) off of another android board and he installed this Facebook: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734739 and he said it works.... It's worth a try if you haven't already.

How about the stock ROMs without blur? Is there no way of fixing it by rooting? I was hoping there was something I can do under root to fix it?
I use T-Mobile's Social Buzz for that.
Social Buzz didn't work for me properly. What DID work was:
1. Wiping, 2. Flashing a BLUR Rom, 3. Setting up Facebook, 4. Flashing a Deblur'd (Pays) Rom without wiping
Use SyncMyPix, if it gets it wrong just unlink the contact and link it again from within the app

ok. that's just sad and laborious. i've just flashed my phone with the non-blur PL rom before reading your entry. oh well. i guess i'll do that. thanks!
I dunno why, but it doesn't work at the moment. Perhaps I shouldn't have deleted the Motoblur thingy from facebook apps
/edit: yeah, i shouldnt have deleted that... working again

Indead, works well. I did had to Market enabler to fake T-Mobile. Also needed 2 reeboots for it to work.
Also a shame it's in pink.

Without knowing the exact names of the files you removed Shiny I would just reflash the ROM. Next time back up the file with sdx app removal tool before deleting it. (Hindsight is always 20-20 lol.)

*facepalm* ugh. Thank you, I was actually hoping someone has had this issue in the past.. on the brightside I do have a nandbackup (yay for you shiny!) Yeah I talk to myself, problem? anyway. I'll do advanced-restore in cwm and only restore data. (Duh)
Hmm, just a thought, would flashing the gapps.zip for CM7 work in this case for Shiny? Or would it not work since it wouldn't be compatible? Just curious.
*UPDATE* had a brainfart. Restoring Data won't help, you have to restore system.. anyway I didn't remember until I did an entire restore.. only downside was having to update 32 apps. all contacts, I sync with my gmail.
I like to run Nands and Titanium backups about once a week. Sure I don't have a clue which nand is which but by gosh they are there if I need them...lol.

Just another update, I was able to reproduce my issue. I believe it wasn't due to me removing talk from sys/app, but trying to install a cwm flashable talk meant for gingerbread.. lol

Android.process.acore issue caused by Google+ 2.0

Hi all,
I just had a weird issue. Everything was working great and I suddenly started to receive this error : Android.process.acore.
After trying many things (cache wipe, facebook reinstall and last a factory reset) issue was gone.
I did a titanium backup restore and issue came back. When trying to access my contacts I was getting this message again. So I did some testing and found out the new Google+ 2.0 (the release from Ice Cream Sandwich) is causing the issue. After uninstalling it my contant were all back to normal.
I have no idea why it's doing that but if it can help someone else in the same boat.
Thx,
r0ot5

i had the same issue while trying to add contact, uninstalling Google+ 2.0 made my contact all ok after that. I am using DXKI2.
Thankyou so much r0ot5, I installed G+ 2.0 2days ago at the same time putting Lite'ning ROM 6.1 on, it's been driving me mad, I thought it was Facebook screwing everything up, turns out it wasn't!
Uninstalled 2.0 and back to normal!
Same thing here, did all sort of testing because everything was pointing towards facebook but finally got it back to normal ao for now will use the old Google+.
Not sure if this bug should be reported or something....

Tried times and times... Finally locate the issue: Google+ 2.0.0...
Same as you are, this is the only problem that makes my acore crash and crash again...
I'm using BlissMod007 v03
right now I had to use the old version of Google+ app. Should we report google about this situation? I think so...
Same issue on Nexus 1 running CM7. Also people have mentioned the problem on other forums. I assume that the v2.0 of G+ is integrated into the contacts the same way that facebook and twitter do, so contacts that are linked to another account crash the program when they check to see if they are linked to g+ maybe? We need the latest contacts or dialer apk to fix this?
uninstall
re-install G+ version on market

That's not really the answer anyone is looking for. We already know that. The question is how do we keep g+ 2.0 and fix the contacts problem

Instead it is the correct answer
reinstall G+2(is available) from market and will solve contact problem
Look man, I'm not trying to be a ****, but we already understand that uninstalling the v2.0 apk that we jacked from ICS will solve the problem. I (and probably others) think that it would be better to fix the problem causing the error instead of giving up and uninstalling v2.0. Uninstalling it is not any more "correct" than finding a workaround. And for your info, v2.0 is not available in the market like you said. Market version is 1.0.8 https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.plus

some contacts missing facebook photos

All has been working fine on my EVO4G running MIKG 3.1 until tonight... I looked at the phone and it said it found some contact links. they looked like ones I had already linked but I linked them again. Now, some of the contacts (ones that need to be relinked), show a blank facebook contact photo. Just the generic silhouette of the face. I unlinked and re-linked and re-sync'd the contacts.. nothing.. some are fine and show the contact photo with the facebook symbol. I checked on my PC to see if maybe the person removed their photo, but it is there.
Any ideas????
Anyone? I just tried syncing using Facebook app. Same issue. some contracts pulled photos and others not. Ideas?

Hey,
in order to get your contact photos to sync you need to use htc sense the app wont do anything man, and if that doesnt work it might be a glitch so try wiping your cache dalvik and flashing the rom again. let me know if it works, but that just might be a bug between your evo and the rom bro,

The app does sync. It adds to my accounts and sync. The app filled in some missing photos which Facebook for sense left blank. I read elsewhere that others have this issue too...

You can try using the app SyncMyPix (I think it's all one word like that, could be wrong). I used it in the past when I had issues on CM7 with Facebook contacts.

Tried that. That works but it added photos to my Google contracts not exchange contacts
