Lately I have been having crazy problems with my battery on this rom. I have Odlin a couple of modems (trying to find one that works best for me) and since then it seems I can’t get the battery fully working properly. I have drained it completely dead then tried to charge it completely full and it stops at 96% (previously it went to 100) and the full charge blue LED light comes on. Also keep in mind I have tried charging it overnight. So I unplug it and power off, then plug it back up and let it get to 100% powered off. I boot in the clockwork purple and clear battery stats as shown in QBkings videos on calibrating the battery. Soon as I boot it goes to 97 or 96 then after the media scanner is done it drops to 95 or 94. With it working like this I am only getting about 10 hours on the charge. From what I read on forums people are getting 20+ hours on this rom. I hope I have listed good enough detail so that you can help me out.. Below is my device info the best that I know..
Rom- SRF 1.2- Fully loaded w/ touchwiz< Love touchwiz and don’t know if I can depart.
Kernel- Genocide 2.0
Recovery- 3.1.0.1 Purple ( I don’t know if that is the correct numbers but it’s the purple one)
Modem – EC05 ( All other modems are worse on this issue)
Journaling- I don’t know.. I am still a noob and still learning<<Bear with me…
Try putting your phone in clockwork then leaving it on charge for the night then rebooting in the morning and see what percent you're at ....
Youncester, i really feel your pain. I have the exact same issue and i have seen another person on other forum mention the same problem about the rom. I have tried calibrating it, charging it to 100% then letting it die and recharge again for a week, deleting battery stats, reflashed the phone like 5 times deleting the battery stats before and after. It's nice to see there is a thread about this issue with this particular rom finally. I will try your method iSaint and will get back to you guys on the results. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP US FROZEN 1.2 USERS THAT ONLY GET THE SAD 10 OR LESS HOURS ON THIS AWESOME ROM!! thank you =]
i completely agree...my battery dies more now thn before rooting altogether..terrible
All of our phones react differently on each ROM. I think, if you have already tried different kernels, you may want to try a different ROM. There are 3 or 4 rock solid Froyo ROMs

I have done a bunch of reading since my first flash to Cyanogen's 6.1 but not finding really satisfactory answers.
With the old rooted stock deodexed...I was getting about 14-15hrs of moderate-high use. So basically I pulled the cord at around 7am and plugged back in around 6pm with about 40%.
Was fine.
Flashed 6.1 last night and now I am two hours off charge and sitting at 58%!! I have all syncs turned off and I have no wifi/gps/4g running. The ONLY widget at the moment is weather and it only updates when I hit refresh.
My search has shown something called battery calibration...but that doesn't make sense to me. I have done the long charge, power off charge, power on charge etc... But since I have a wall battery charger I have just moved away from that and occasionally swap out my batteries for a full charge in that thing.
Does that 6.1 REALLY need another voodoo approach to battery life? Also the threads I have found seem to be for the nexus one or the HTC Magic(?).
Anyone else suffering HORRIBLE battery life after flashing 6.1?
Anyone got a link to a fix for the EVO and maybe something that I can get through the day with (do not have my charger at work)?
When I flashed CM7 to my wife's phone the battery was horrible (Less than 2 hours). I recalibrated the battery and the next charge lasted 2 days. Give this a try:
Battery recalibration
If you're experiencing higher than normal battery drain, try the following:
Charge the device to full battery; let it keep charging until the battery says it is fully charged. Do not just wait until the light is green, it isn't always fully charged, causing a lot of inaccuracies. (You can check by going to: Settings -> About device -> Status -> Battery Level = Full.)
Boot to recovery mode and delete the battery stats
NOTE: To have the most accurate of battery stats, reboot the device immediately after wiping the battery stats and wait for CyanogenMod to boot completely to the desktop. Once your entire boot is done and you have full access to the device, go ahead and pull the charger and continue with this troubleshooter.
Do not charge the device until after draining the battery completely, resulting in it automatically shutting off.
Recharge the device completely and then use as you normally would.
Also, CM6.1 or CM7 should get decent battery life. If it still doesn't try flashing a different kernal. I found that savaged zen bfs sbc kernal extended my life considerably.

Yea Cm6 is dated. But that shouldn't matter.. I actually had fantactic battery when I was on cm6, much better than what I get on cm7.
First, check spare parts for wakelocks and make sure you don't have any. After that, follow Fazulkas advice to reset battery stats, follow it correctly tho. I never thought wiping stats would make a difference, but it surely does.
Ok, I'll try that process when I get home tonight. (Guess I can survive w/o a phone for a few hours?!?! :^O) Haven't set up more than just the google account on this ROM as I wanted to test it first. So maybe tomorrow it will win me over.
DATED?!?! LOL! It was only just a final release a few months back...;^) It has all the important stuff working where as 7 doesn't and it is still a RC.
:^P
(Have you seen my sig? Old dogs only try the proven tricks thank you very much. :^)
CM6 is not dated. In fact CM 6.1.3 is the most current stable-release version of CM available!

Its not the ROM. Anytime you flash a ROM, you need to calibrate your battery. By calibrate it isn't the plug in over and over method.
You charge to 100%, discharge it fully. Charge back to 100% then wipe battery stats in recovery. Then use your phone.

There is your problem. Anytime you flash a new rom, you need to give it at least a day or two to fully calibrate everything in the rom.

HUH...this is my fourth ROM flash, first one away from stock rooted and I have never had this issue. Maybe the stock ROMs do not have this issue?
Hey guys,
When I first got my Desire I calibrated the battery after the first couple of days (when I found out how to do it), and since then it's been great. But in the last couple of weeks, it seems to get a bit lazy. So I thought I'd try and re-calibrate it.. Booted into recovery, wiped battery stats, did the process again (charge while on, turn off, charge again, etc) And now..well..I unplugged it at 6am and it's flat as a pancake now at 2pm..
My question is, there are so many different methods for calibrating, which would be the best one for me to use right now? It isn't turned on atm, and I don't want to charge it until I know what I'm doing. Hope someone can help me out
Maybe the problem is not your battery but a app or widget.
You say, after the calibration it was good.
Have you installed something new?
Edit:
The calibrate method I used is:
- charge full
- disconnect from cable and shutdown phone.
- charge till led is green
- disconnect from cable, start phone and shutdown phone
- charge till led is green
- Disconnect from cable - wipe battery stats
- Done
Yep that's the method I used.
Just done a complete wipe of everything and re-flashed InsertCoinHD2.0.0
Just gonna leave it with minimal apps, Facebook, eBay, etc for a couple days and see how that goes.
Looks like it hasn't worked
88% after 1 hour 27 mins
70% after 2 hours 40 mins
58% after 4 hours 8 mins

Calibrating your batterie has only to be done once. If you flash a new rom, it's normal for the batterie to go that fast. You should wait a few days before everything is working as it should.
So your focus should be to find a clean rom, don't install any apps and just try it for a few days. After that you could also try messing with havs kernels.

I suppose this is with screen off? You should download current widget from the market and log your batterie usage. If the usage is around 5ma (lower = better) and still have a high batterie drain, then your batterie is damaged. But if the usage is higher then it's a software problem But then again, if you flash a new rom every few days it's normal to have high batterie drain.
Just tried it and wow 458mA! I might take my desire back to stock, original RUU and s-on and such.

That's normal if you have your screen on. You should enable the log function and leave your screen off for a few hours.
Thanks for that I've been flashing ROMs and such for a while now, but this is the first time I've had any problem with the battery.
Just a little update.
I figured it would be the kernel I was using (InsertCoinHD 2.0.0) as I'd heard a lot of people have the same trouble. Reflashed to v1.9.5 and the battery is going back to its old self, 61% left after 8 hours with moderate use, since reflashed 3 days ago Thanks to all who helped
Last night I switched over to the EF02 Gingerbread leak and flashed the AA i3 rom.
I was loving it, but my battery went down about 15% in 20 minutes. Just while going through menus.
Browsed around a bit and found out about calibrating the battery, and how it can fix the issue.
So, my questions:
- Should I calibrate from a full charge?
- Is it a good idea to calibrate the battery every once in a while, just for the sake of it?
- What kind of battery life have some (any) of you seen out of the AA i3 rom with a properly calibrated battery?
Thanks in advance.

calibrating the battery is just a placebo effect in my opinion...i don't think it will help you at all
my personal experience with ef02 is it tanked my battery in 5 hours from 100% to dead
i'd recommend sticking with ec05 until we get a newer leak or official gb
go to market and look for battery calibrator and then i t will tell you directions from there
Could be ROM. My wifes epic is deodexed ef02 w ef02 modem and a few odds and ends and we are seeing 12hrs on a charge. When it was same ROM and ec05 modem...it made it 4.5 hrs w hardly any use and died.

That was kind of the suspicion I had...something sounds kind of off about "calibrating battery".
Even if the leak was making it 12 hours, I'd still have switched back to EC05 2.2 on SRF 1.2...which I already did. I'm very content with a reliable 20+ hrs.
Was fun to toy with though, definitely left an impression as far as things to look forward to. I'll keep waiting for a more stable/official...
Also, root explorer. Data/system/battery stats.bin. delete that file after full charge, meaning full charge, unplug, plug back in for 15ish mins. Reboot. Simple. You will be deleting the battery statistics manually and upon reboot it creates a new file. If you are paranoid about properly doing it that will do it.

I just went back to SRF 1.2 to try it out might go back to EF02 Plus. No knock against SRF1.2 it is great ROM.
Make sure your phone is in deep sleep mode.

I am current running the Bonsai Rom 5.0.0.B12 and I am greating great battery life. Make sure there is nothing that is preventing your phone from going into deep sleep mode. Background data, also make sure that your cpu settings are on conservative. I use voltage control to change my cpu setting to conservative and noop and I use cpuspy to determine if my phone is going into deep sleep mode. If you do these thing you should get great battery life.
Hi guys. I'm new to the Android modding scene and I just installed my first ROM yesterday. Now my Droid Incredible is currently running MIUI 1.9.9 with the latest Incredikernel, undervolted by about 100 units.
When the phone is in sleep, the battery is no problem. Over the course of 1.5 hours I lost 2% of battery. However, I sat down and opened up browser (on 3G Data) to read a couple of articles, and in the course of 3-4 minutes, my battery went from 77% to 72%.
I don't know if this is normal, this is the first time using a text-based battery readout instead of a graphical, so maybe I never noticed it before...but I can't help but find this to be unusual. Are there any ways to fix this? Should I undervolt more? Switch to a different kernal? Flash my radio (I'm at Stock Froyo)?
I've looked around and can't find much on the issue (1.9.9 is new, I figure that is part of it), but perhaps you guys have some ideas for fixes?
EDIT: Upon closer look, it's only happening when using 3G Data, using wifi for the same thing and my battery has stayed at 71 for 10 minutes of browsing now. Also Camera drained 3% really quickly...but that was trying to use burst mode for 20 seconds, so I'm sure that was why, but just adding it as a note.
Battery Drains like HELL!!!

You are doing much better. I recently flashed 1.9.9 and initially it was choppy and lagged a lot. Then someone recommended Fugumod kernel. Although, it appeared as if the lags were removed, the display became dull and yellowish. I installed Voodoo color app to fix this issue to some extent but it was of no use..
This is just the beginning... I caliberated the battery yesterday and used it until 89% before I went to sleep.. Today morning, the battery had come down to 59% for no apparent reason. I searched the 'Battery monitor' for some information about this and found none of the services/apps were used for more than 15 minutes and yet the battery had drained the hell out.. The 'display' was at 60% and its duration was the max(~4 hours) and around 4mA of current..
To make matters worse, I rebooted the phone and the charge fell from 59% to 8%... just for a REBOOT!!! and Fugumod kernel doesn't allow me to charge with the phone switched off... This is annoying too.
I am severely disappointed I've never encountered such a disaster before.. There is absolutely no evidence as to what caused this battery drain.
Is there a solution for this? .. I'm charging my phone so that I can flash back to 1.9.2 and the stock kernel..
Any sort of help would be appreciated.. Thanks
I have a year old EVO and love it. But lately the battery life f'in sucks. Just today I was using it at work, the battery was at 70% then the device shut off. I rebooted to find the battery at 0%???
I have been on Synergy Rom (Non God Mode) and Freedom Aggressive for months, but it seems the battery is just getting worse and worse. Could it be as simple as a bad battery? Or should I try a less aggressive kernel?
bummed about my phone, and not ready to upgrade just yet... have to wait till may ..
So I just hooked up to the computer to charge and reboot, now it shows at 83%. WTF???
Thanks for any input or advice in advance...
Try undervolting your kernel using viperMOD, or try this trick by zeppelinrox: Calibrating Without Downtime!
Get the F out of here?
Im running into the same issue. Phone is almost a year old, running Mik 2.59 with the agressive freedom. WTF is going on? Im going to try the links above and see what that does. For real though, same thing, charged at 80% then phone shuts off turn back on its at zero, then plug it in to charge and it's at 55%. crazy!!!! Hopefully the tips will help. thanks
edit: The calibrating without downtime wont work. When you pull the battery the phone won't boot at all. This must be a motorolla thing where the phone will still boot without the battery. Didnt try the vipermod tip yet.
I'm experiencing a similar issue - I'll pull it off the charger at 100%, check a few emails on my way to work and i'm suddenly sitting at 70%...sits on my desk with an occasional email check and by lunch I'm at 25%...I can play a few hands of solitaire and watch my battery drop by 10% in less than 5 minutes...or surf the net and see it dropping a % a minute or more ... even sitting in a full 5 bar svc area.
I'm starting to wonder if my choice of Synergy RLS1 with the Freedom (Universal) kernal is the cause.
I'm Evo 4G
Synergy RLS1
Kernel: 2.6.35.10-Freedom-v0.7.6-HAVS+ [email protected] #1
baseband: 2.15.00.0808
software: 4.24.651.1 (no updates to Synergy since the last OTA)
PRI: 2.15_003
PRL: 60681
Any suggestions or tips or ideas for a new ROM/Kernel combo (prefer Sense 3 or higher) are welcome!
This is what I came up with after thinking my ROM was messing my phone up. Check it out. Since my phone was almost one year old, I figured I should check to see if battery was good anymore. I went to Sprint to check it and sure enough the battery was bad. Changed it out and now my battery life is back to normal, even better with the ROM and
kernal I'm running

Try this....it worked for me a little while ago when i had batt issues....charge your phone to full while its on... Then turn the device off and unplug the charger ....wait till the led turns off then plug it back in...wait until it charges to full and them repeat. Unplug...wait for led to go away and charge again...after a few times repeating this process boot into recovery and wipe the battery stats and reboot and unplug from charger...did that and i got a 16 hour batt with moderate usage and no extended battery... Hope this helps
