I cant even boot into recovery. Any ideas? I was using it and it just restarted and I cant do anything at all. It goes to the white htc evo screen and then reboots into a loop. Device is rooted btw.
Try running a RUU.
I just ran the 3.70 RUU and it didnt work :/
Boot loop continues. Ill try to run it again.

You're not fully unrooted. [Not saying that it matters]
It's more than likely there's something wrong with the phone psychically.
I'm guessing you used the unrevoked method to root?
I tried to use the Bootloader btw....going to try and use my PC to flash the RUU

You can just download this file and rename it PC36IMG.zip, place it on the root of your sdcard and go into the bootloader and accept the update.
Tried. My Bootloader was updated, but I still have the white screen boot looped.

Have you ever used SD-ext?
If so you should wipe that and see what happens when you boot up.
Otherwise, you might have to just take it in. :\
You could also try http://files.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=amon_ra/RECOVERY/&file=PC36IMG.zip that would give you a recovery again and then you could try flashing a different ROM and just seeing if it works.
While in recovery try this zip to format all:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ikylelx99c49133/Calkulin's_FORMAT_ALL.zip
Like I said, it's likely that you are gonna have to take it in. :\
Ahhhhh!!! I have insurance, but im sure ill have to pay the $100 deductible. Which I refuse to do. Id rather wait for a phone I want to upgrade to (Galaxy s II potentially). What can I do with the phone at this point?

You may not necessarily have to pay the deductible.
Get s on.
Flash the recovery I linked, get the s-on zip from unrevoked and flash it in the recovery then re run the RUU and you'll be entirely stock
If it keeps doing it then take it to the store.
I cant even get into recovery. ZIp says successful but doesnt work
Flashing any of the 4.24 RUU's should automatically give me S-On right?

So today while following a tutorial, not sure which one. I managed to completely erase my system partition from my phone, leaving me without anything, including s-off. So now im stuck at S-ON, no system software, and no custom recovery. What gives? Is there anyway to put atleast SOME software on the phone. I'd love to use my EVO that i just purchased today, and spent countless hours trying to get permanent root. Even a stock ruu or something would be nice. Anything is appreciated. Thanks.

I've googled, tried the HTC site, somewhat searched xda, found a lot of rooted stock roms, could you point me in the direction of an ACTUAL stock ruu? My phone came with 2.2 and 2.02 bootloader, if that helps any.
https://bit.ly/f9Jx0f
Only has up to 3.30 though.
But I think thats the one that shipped on phones with that booloader version.
The RUU won't recognize my phone, but the software itself has a few typo's and asks for an adb device with an odd looking string after it. Would it be possible to find the update.zip from the ruu and install it using fastboot? because thats about the only thing that works on my phone.
You have bootloader right? How about this one?

Yes I have bootloader, call me ignorant, but what do I do with the zip files? I the exe link is broken, and i've never had to use the bootloader before, i came from an htc hero with a custom recovery.
Here's the RUU link posted by TMartin03: RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.exe

If you need to PC36IMG file, its located here in this post by TMartin03. I assume you would have to rename this to PC36IMG.zip for it to work in bootloader.
Fixed, flashed that pc36img file, THANK YOU!!!!!
Awesome...glad to help and hear that it worked out for you.

Pulling the battery, putting it back in, holding the power and vol down button simultaneously (dont release) doesn't get you to the bootloader?
ok so i just tried rooting my evo. I used an out dated rooting method not compatible with the version of my phone. I have 3.30, hboot 2.02, and radio 2.15.00.09.01. When i turn the phone on it gets stuck at white htc screen. I can boot into the bootloader. I have tried running the ruu but when i do it doesnt recognize my phone is connected. I have htc drivers installed...i dont know what to, do please help
Does the hboot says s-on or s-off? If your s-off try flashing a rom through recovery or a pc36img ruu through the boot loader.

Well one, if you can get to the bootloader, you most likely aren't bricked, so breathe! What root method did you try to use? How far in the process did you get? How long did you let it stay at the HTC screen? Sometimes it takes a good long while. If I was in your situation, since your computer won't recognize phone, is take your SD card out of the phone. Download a stock ruu zip. Rename it to PC36IMG.zip. put it on your SD card, put SD card back in phone, and boot into the bootloader. It should find the zip, and you select to flash it. Give that a try.
EDIT: Damn,I'm always too late! And yea, as he said, if you are s off, and did successfully flash a recovery image, try flashing a Rom first. Id be surprised if you are s off with recovery if you used an old method with the 2.02 hboot. What happens when you select recovery from bootloader?
Find and download RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.30.651.2_Radio_2.15.00.09.01_NV_1.77_003_release_154209_signed
That's the one that worked on a hardware 004 Evo I used the old method on
Any luck getting your phone back up?
my s is still on..when i go to recovery it shows the evo with the red exclamation mark. I will try putting the ruu zip on my memory card..i need to go get a usb for my hero as it seems i cannot find it and have no other way to put a file on my sd card. any ideas if that doesnt work? i am a little confused as why it will let me issue adb codes in the command prompt but htc sync does not pick up the phone
Yup your still not rooted. Try to get a way to put a file on your usb card so you can load a PC36IMG.zip ruu of your 3.30 rom so you can get back to stock and start your process over with unrevoked.

I have dealt with this issue before. It is difficult to get an ruu to run but I think it is worth it. Find the right ruu for your phone to get you back to stock. Once you have this get your phone in to bootloader and use the fastboot command I believe it is. This will help your computer recognize your phone. Then run the ruu after you have done this, may take a few tries but im positive it works. Good luck.

Do you have a card reader? that would also work. Would probably also be cheaper than a usb cable I would think, not sure though. (unless of course you still use the hero and want a new cable anyways)

That software version in that file is waaaaay outdated. You can try running a RUU from your PC but I'm not sure if it will find your phone when it's in that state. It's worth a shot though.
Download the latest RUU from here, and run it on your computer. Follow the on screen directions and cross your fingers.

This happened to me trying to root a hardware 004 Evo, just run the ruu to fix
sent from my Evo on Americans REAL largest 4G network
every ruu i try to run gives me the same error error code 110 unable to open files or its corrupted but it doesn't error until after it deletes everything could it because of the non stock kernel i had it dont understand why ruus wont work ive try like 5 and i always get the same error
you have to flash unrevokedforever s-on before RUU will work.

You can not get into hboot? If you can, take a look and see if it says S-ON or S-OFF.
If its S-OFF, flash a custom recovery. Then use the S-ON Tool. Then flash the updated RUU.
If it says S-ON. Flash the latest RUU.
If it still doesn't work, come back and I'll try to see if theres something else you can do.
For future reference, make sure you always use the latest info. Don't just flash anything cause it says UNROOT WITH THIS. Make sure its the latest version/method/etc.
So I've been trying to root my dads old Desire for a while now, with no success - it is locked to o2 and I'm on Orange. I didn't really want to pay to unlock it, and rooting it would have been nice. I've done two phones before, so I figured it shouldn't be too bad. Eventually I discovered it was HBOOT 1.03, and this was the problem, so the solution was to backdate the software to an earlier version (the phone is still S-ON and I cannot get this thing to take ANYTHING)
I was trying to roll back from Froyo to 2.1.
The current problem is that now the phone will not boot. With a simple turn-on it just sits at the white HTC screen, or if you go into Hboot it tries (what I assume is) 'fastboot' and checks the PB99IMG.zip file on the SD card. If I say I don't want to update and go to 'recovery' it loads the screen with the exclamation mark in a triangle in it. The problem here is that pressing up+power does nothing. I've tried a quick press, and a long hold multiple times, and with no result except the first time. Unfortunately I didn't go through the proceedure the first time, assuming it'd work again. Damn!
If I start the update it says 'can not roll back the hboot version'. It also fails on the radio_v2.
Any help will be much appreciated, and if you need any details (I've probably missed something) please ask!
Thanks

If it fails with Radio_v2, then it's a radio brick, and that's the reason it won't boot. I'm afraid you can't do much, due to the hboot version.

The one step here I'm halted by is producing a Goldcard - the link to the website on the tool doesn't work any more (I've scoured t'internet, and that's the general consensus). Any idea where else I can input the CID to get a Goldcard Image?
Also how do I run the RUU on my computer? What file is it in the HTC Desire Android Upgrade folder I need to run? Afterall, there's no file titled 'RUU.exe'

Just realized that it wouldn't work, because you have to boot your phone for the downgrader tool.
You could try something else. Unlock your bootloader using the HTC Dev site :http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader, and then try installing a custom recovery.

I'm currently running Android Revolution HD on my new M9, unlocked, s-off also.
Found out that I have the battery is faulty, so I need to return it to stock, and get it back the shop for a replacement.
However, I stupidly didn't make a back up of my stock rom.
The CID of my phone is O2___01
I've downloaded the stock rom from this site, and flashed it using the RUU command. However when it flashes, then tells me to reboot, it still has Android Revolution HD on it.
I've spent a few hours browsing the forum, and still I've come to no avail.
Any help would be well appreciated!

You don't provide much information so it's hard to help. So let's start at the bginning: What firmare version are you using? (It's stated in Download Mode in the line with "OS" at the beginning.)
You tried to flash a RUU? Which one? Have there been any error outputs? If yes, which ones? Since you're S-OFF flashing a RUU should not be a problem at all so these outputs are very important if you want any help.
I tried to flash 1.40.206.8 -> 2.10.206.2 from this page
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/stock-nand-backup-ota-update-collection-t3132698
Also I followed this,
Code:

downloaded the correct RUU zip, tried to flash, got the error code telling me I need to immediately flash again which I did. Rebooted, and it just set up Android Revolution HD again.-
My firmware currently is 2.10.206.2
Im sure it's something stupid I missing out?

As far as I know Sneakyghost doesn't provide any RUUs. Those are only firmware packages that do not contain a rom. So it's no miracle that you're still booting ARHD.
You can download O2 RUUs from here, here or here. Any of the X.XX.206.X files will work since you are S-OFF. Do you have a SD card that is not bigger than 32gb? If yes, format it to fat32, copy one O2 RUU to its root directory and rename that file to "0PJAIMG.zip". If you then boot to Download Mode you will be asked to push the Volume Up button and the RUU will start flashing. If it reboots to system instead of rebooting to Download Mode you will have to power off your phone and boot to Download Mode manually. The RUU will continue then. At the end you will be asked to push the power button so that your phone gets shut down. If you now start your phone you will be back on a stock system.
Be aware that there is no RUU for your current firmware. Since you're S-OFF that doesn't matter but your phone will be downgraded at the end.
Ahh no wonder! haha
Going to try this shortly, so will let you know how I get on!
After its flashed, I'll be good to lock again and go s-on? Then return to the shop?

Relock only after you successfully tested that your device is booting normaly. After that you theoretically could re-S-ON. (But I would never do that because there is always a risk of hardbricking your phone if you re-S-ON and there is anything still modified that you didn't notice. For safety reasons S-OFF should always be considered as a oneway.)
Edit: I'm not completely sure but I actually doubt that they will check whether your phone was S-OFFed or not. If I think about the people who are working at the O2 or vodafone shops in my city I would say they do not even know what a bootloader is...
Agreed, use the s-off command to change back to "LOCKED" and leave it s-off. Too much of a risk otherwise.
If in the unlikely event they see it, you can play dumb, because a few rare people have gotten s-off phones from the factory and it doesn't prove you did anything.
