Hi,
Since the latest upgrade, replying or forwarding to exchange mails doesn't work anymore. Same thing with Desire S. Anyone else experienced this issue? Running Exchange 2003.
I assume you're talking about Exchange by TouchDown?
If so, I think your best bet would be to contact them directly here.

No, stock mail app of HTC (Exchange ActiveSync)
Related
I wanted to be able to sync sub-folders for my work email as well as send emails when I don't have a connection - they should be sent when they do.
I have seen others on here comment that they have similar desires (pun intended).
I wrote the following to HTC
I am using the Mail app on my Desire to sync with my companies Exchange server.
I have a need to sync sub-folders of my Inbox in the Mail app. I cannot see a way to make this possible.
Additionally, when composing mail without an Internet connection and pressing Send, I am simply told I cannot do so. I would expect the mail to be stored in my outbox until a connection is available.
Can you please comment on any of this with advise on how to fix.

And I got my response:
There are limitations to the Exchange support as you say and the best way to get round these at the moment is to use a third party software such as Touchdown or RoadSynch as these have full Exchange Active synch support including tasks and notes. We are always working on improving our devices and the experience of our customers so keep an eye out for possibles updates to your Desire. Best regards.

I am quite disappointed with HTC. I have not used the standard ActiveSync stuff in Android 2.1. Can anyone comment as to whether it performs better in regard to my particular needs?
sorry replied to wrong post....
Hi,
My corporate email server is MS exchange 2007. I can send/recieve emails fine, however, the emails are displayed 'text only' on my EVO. Settings show 'Message Format' as 'Plain Text', and it's greyed out.
Search indicates this might be an issue with Exchange 2003, but that's not the case with my corp exchange server. Any ideas?
Thanks
bump.
Anyone?

This is the same thing happening to mine. From my understanding exchange 2007 does support html but your IT department has to enable it. I am not sure why most of them dont. I would think because maybe some users are restricted from internet, maybe a internet load on the server, possible virus loaded from html? Not all corporate phones support html? I am sure the reasoning goes on and on.
I would suggest asking your IT department.

Thanks for the reply dwertz.
But, I can get html in emails on my iPhone. Do you think the settings might be specific to the phone platform?
Thanks
Did you try using Touchdown for exchange email?

Touchdown from Nitrodesk does show HTML so maybe it is not the exchange settings but its $24.95.
With the roms that have HTC my exchange emails are all HTML and I'm on 2007 also so I know its possible.

Scratch that. My admin came back with the word that the server is indeed 2003, and will be soon upgraded.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
Hi Community/Devs,
Funny conversation with a friend who went and bought a Desire HD (because I recommended it to control his life and work on his emails, Exchange 2010).
After a long time of troubleshooting his issue where his emails cannot work on his Desire HD, he's called HTC themselves and they have told him that Exchange 2010 does not work on ANY of their devices (Android). Funny thing is... I have a normal Desire and my emails work perfectly on our Exchange 2010. My calendar, mail and contacts sync beautifully.
My mate, has problems syncing emails, contacts sometimes and calendar. Says it's connected but cannot send an email. This has been frustrating him as it is a fantastic phone, but can't get one of the most important things, emails, working on it and yet, it's perfect on mine.
Can anyone else confirm?
Thanking you all.
Hi,
nope the information from HTC is wrong. I have here two Exchange accounts on my Desire HD with Stock ROM. One is an Exchange 2007 and one a Exchange 2010. Both are working perfect as expected.
The question would be what the exchange system on the other side of the wire said when an error occured.
bye

Thank for the confirmation. I'm linking this thread to my mate who has the problem. He may have some questions. I don't have a Desire HD, but just the first Desire. I know not much difference, but in all, you're saying it works which is what I would like for him to know and maybe go back to HTC and tell them to shove... ok, maybe not, but at least ask again in a polite manner.
Maybe HTC were referrinmg to Hotmail Exchange with DHD.
Their stock mail app does not work with this model yet. For this, you need to install the stock Google mail app, Improved Email or a paid version (some with HTML) from the Market.
Not sure if this was what your looking for, as you didn't state MS Hotmail. But maybe the reason given by HTC.
Hotmail does work with DHD Stock on exchange, but only on the 2.2.1 version of the ROM. However there is a refreshing bug with it.. and also no HTML

Yes, there is that bug, that's why it doesn't work properly and unusable.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
@OP: This is a Active sync issue, In Exchange 2010, active sync should be enabled for your friend;s profile for the sync to work. as him to check with this Exchange admin
Don't know if this may of any help but...here it goes

Cheers,
I've been syncing with Exchange 2010 with no issues since end last year.
I had a friend who was experiencing the same issue a while back - but only over WiFi (syncing was fine using data). We got his mail syncing over WiFi after temp rooting his phone with VISIONary and then installing ASProxy.. (for some unknown reason he didn't want to root his phone).
VISIONary: (can't find Market link)
ASProxy: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.Alsu.ASProxy

Unfortunately I can only confirm the same problem on my Note 2, can receive but cannot send emails through stock exchange email app. I just talked to my IT department from work and they don't know why the issue occurs.
Does anyone know the cure?
Also experiencing the same issue, both on Jedi Master X2 as well as stock TELUS 4.3. Odd issue considering AOSP 4.3/4.4 had no issues with ActiveSync e-mail. For now i'm just using K-9 with retrieval on manual, and just reply o the e-mail through that. Obviously this is less than ideal. Any ideas?
Hello. I have also encountered this issue with my Outlook.com email account following the 4.3 update. I can confirm that Sandesh's solution with replying to an invitation has solved the problem for me.

Thanks!
Another weird issue with the 4.3 upgrade I have is when sending an email through the stock email app (new, replies, or forwards), it never sends the email and just says "Retrieving account information..." Before the 4.3 upgrade, it worked fine. My company uses Zimbra. Checked all settings and it seems fine. This is with the stock email app. My coworker, who also has his Note 2 upgraded to 4.3 (also on Sprint) doesn't use the stock email app, but uses Touchdown and it is not affected and works fine with Touchdown. Before I do a data reset, has anyone figured this situation out?
My phone is stock and not rooted.
Update - For now I am using CloudMagic, which is a free email app, to send email. It's not bad works with Zimbra and EAS, and hey FREE. Will keep the stock app configured for now to at least read emails and to sync calendar and contacts, but will be using CloudMagic when I have to send email. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail&hl=en (no affiliation but it is a workaround)
Resolution
1) Ask any user to send you an appointment
2) You will get the appointment on your device, accept the appointment and it will send an email in the backend which resolved this issue.
Let me know if this helps.

I have the same device but on Verizion, I also use Zimbra to access corporate account, as well as have the same problem as the OP. I can also confirm that I can confirm that Sandesh's solution worked for me. I was close to doing a factory reset. This was the only thread that suggested this solution.
Thank you.

Hey sir,
Thanks for the solution. I canĀ“t see relation between sending the appointment to malfunctioning mail and unstucking the mail .. but it works.
So thanks!
